beginning
YOU AND I, we were both lost souls.
We both didn't quite fit in, always thought differently and had unusual tastes that no one could understand.
Maybe that's why our paths crossed, to fill the voids in each of our lives.
We didn't see each other at first. I didn't exactly see you as more than just a classmate of mine, and neither did you.
We collided also in the most coincidental way. You would always appear at my student council duty in the morning to find a friend of yours. I didn't mind it too much. My impression of you at the very beginning was just a goof who made me gag at your dry, dry jokes.
But just like that, you slowly made your way into my life without me even realising. Day by day, your presence became more familiar, until it became irreplaceable.
From the first few conversations, we started exchanging texts. We walked to classes and studied together after school. We had our differences, but we somehow got along exceptionally well. Naturally, I found solace in your company. You'd continue to throw jokes at me, and I'd listen.
There was an inexplicable attraction between us. We opened up to each other in the most natural way possible and quickly became inseparable. Even I didn't expect that we would become so close, that I could trust someone without the slightest bit of hesitation.
You came into my life like a breath of fresh air. You showed me a kind of friendship that I never knew existed. You touched my untouchable side and made me open up my doors again.
I wasn't known for being an open book, yet I'd let you in on my deepest, best-kept secrets over our three-hour phone calls. I let my wall down completely, convinced that I could trust you wholeheartedly and that we would have each other's back no matter what.
If only I realised then, how foolish I was.
