❝Forever's a long time, bud. Trust me.❞

EVERYONE WAS preparing and training for the upcoming battle with Azure and his brothers. During the training session, Mk and Mei managed to somehow get new armors which you were happy for. This meant that they were capable of controlling their powers more.

Right now, you watched Mk check his armor before the fight starts. You approached the boy and stood beside him, "We've got this, bud. Would have liked to give you some training with your new monkey form, but—" You were cut off by Mk who waved his hand dismissively.

"Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, uh, um, about that. Um, I-I was thinking, I've never really needed a scary new monkey form before so, I thought maybe I'd just use it next time." He immediately used such a weak excuse to avoid training on his monkey form. You could tell that he was scared of it for some reason, "Next time? Kid, there might not be a next time! This is the time!" You exclaimed as you pointed at cracked sky. Mk laughed anxiously and continued to dismiss the subject, "It'll be fine! Mei and I have got this awesome, new armor and everything. You know when we look this good, ain't nothing gonna beat us." He told you, trying to change the subject. You didn't like how he was avoiding this matter as if it wasn't that important. You quickly grabbed his shoulder and turned him to face you, having a serious look on your face.

"Kid, new armor isn't gonna cut it. We have to hit Azure with everything we've got! You can't just ignore this whole part of your power 'cause it scares you."

Your successor was unsure of what to do, he was hesitant because of his fear of his new monkey form. Mk opened his mouth to speak when the sky suddenly changed color as the Brotherhood nears. Macaque thrusted the other Monkie Kids out his shadow portal, "They're coming. Get down!" He exclaimed just as Azure made his appearance and he didn't look happy to see you at all.

"I've warned you! I told you to stay out of my way. But here you stand, preparing for treason against your new emperor. And so, I will test the limits of Y/N's immortality!"

You and Mk were on your cloud, avoiding the volley of pieces of the scroll that Azure rained upon you. The staff was in your hand as you increased the speed, landing down on the ground. More pieces of the scroll were shot at you both, making you jump away.

"Mk. Stand down. You do not need to share your mentor's fate." Azure spoke up while stepping out from the dust. You got really offended by what he had said, but you didn't let his statement effect you, "So, that reduced sentence on the table for me too, or...?" Your question made Azure more angry that he directed the pieces of the scroll surrounding him to you, "Imma take that as a no." You laughed nervously while sweatdropping.

Azure shifted his gaze to Mk again, "Last chance, Mk."

The boy didn't listen and hugged you that you fell down, "Never!" Mk stubbornly refused and stuck his tongue out at Azure. The blue lion frowned deeply in dissatisfaction, "So be it!" And just like that, the fight resumed. Azure sent the pieces at you and Mk, but you two got on separate clouds to escape. The three of you engaged in a fast fight, blocking and attacking each other. Azure used the scroll and summoned inky versions of DBK, PIF, Ne Zha, and LBD to attack. You managed to escape them by turning into an eagle, but Mk got pinned by the Bull King.

Azure went to stab Mk with his sword and Mk managed to shrink to dodge the strike that destroyed the mountain. Your successor returned back to his size and used the staff to deliver his blow. Azure fell for the trick as you appeared and kicked him in the face, sending him crushing into a mountain, "Kind of embarrassing for the Jade Emperor to have two lil' cheeky monkeys running circles around him first day on the job." You mocked him with a smug smirk on your face, you and Mk were on your clouds.

"Well, one monkey and one unconfirmed but yeah, I'd be embarrassed for sure!" Mk joined you.

Azure growled and stood up, "This ceaseless chattering! And to think I once called you Queen! You're an imbecile!" He used his enhanced roar, sending you two flying. You quickly took the staff and enlarge its size, lowering it on Azure to bury him under it. However, Azure used all his might to hold it up which made Mk jump on the top of the enlarged staff and gave it a strong kick. Azure was eventually and fully buried underneath the staff.

You leaped in the air and landed on your cloud just when a little monkey jump on your shoulder, "Hey, Lieutenant Monkey, how's the plan going?" You asked and looked down, seeing the monkeys gathering the pieces of the scroll. Just then, Mk screamed loudly, earning your attention, "That's my cue!" The monkey hopped off your shoulder and you quickly caught Mk before he could hit the ground. You threw him on the cloud and quickly flew toward the staff.

"You all good, bud?"

"I'm not gonna lie, gettin' a little tired. But I'm good. What next?"

"Something big and preferably, really annoying."

As you flew to the staff, you knew very well that Azure wasn't going to back down that easily. After all, this was just the beginning of the real battle.
