Mistake

❝I'm will forget anyway, so I'm going to be fine.❞

YOU SAT IN THE PARK WITH girl that claimed to know you, but you didn't remember her at all. The girl was very young and had a long dark hair. She sat beside you on a bench while eating cotton candy along with you.

You looked at the little girl who was eating the candy with delight, "Who are you?" You asked with an expressionless face. The girl sighed and looked at you with a pout, "Why do you keep on forgetting me everytime, Y/N? I'm your friend, Bai He!" She whined sadly as her eyes turned into lines. You had saved this girl when a few bull robots first attacked the city when you were taking a walk and since that day she stuck with you. You looked up at the sky in daze, "I don't remember you." You kept on looking at the sky, completely forgetting about Bai He and the cotton candy in your hand.

The girl saw you looking at the sky and lifted her head up, "You sure like cloud-gazing, huh?" Bai He asked as her eyes followed a cloud that was shaped like a cat. You nodded your head, "It clears my mind..." You said and continued to stare at the clouds. Bai He watched for a few minutes until she finished her cotton candy and got bored. She then stood up and pulled your hand, "Come on Y/N, let's go to the arcade!" She exclaimed before dragging you along with her which made you accidentally drop your candy. When you get inside, Bai He immediately went to choose a game to play.

She eventually decided to play a game called Monkey Mech, "Would you like to try it?" She offered since she wanted you to have the first round. You tilted your head while staring at the arcade machine, "I don't understand your weird machinery." You replied and crossed your arms. Bai He shrugged and turned to play, "Okay then, I will play and you watch me win!" She told you with pride before starting the game. You watched very closely as your friend controlled her character to fight the enemies. You found this quite amusing, but not very much. You continued to watch her play different games for a few hours then went to take her prize from the counter.

Suddenly, the doors bursted open and bunch of Bull Clones dashed inside, terrorizing the people inside. Bai He was very scared that she hid behind you, "I have to deal with them, stay back." You said as you pulled out your sword, preparing yourself for the first attack. There was a lot of those bull bots, so you had to use a form that can take them all down at once.

"Mist Breathing: Fifth Form: Sea of Clouds and Haze."

You charged at your targets and performed dozens of slashes around them, slicing them all. Once the path was clear, everyone in the arcade ran outside to escape. You turned to Bai He, "Go and hide somewhere safe, it's dangerous out there." You ordered before turning around and leaving the building as well. The sky was dark as more people ran to the opposite direction of you.

-TIME SKIP-

You got caught up along the path fighting those bull clones around the city. As you ran, you saw Mk and Mei jump into a pit, "I must increase my heartrate to run faster and catch up to them." You thought as you took a deep breath, increasing your heartrate to speed up your pace. Once you reached there, you immediately jumped down. However, you saw both Mk and Mei hanging by a sword. It was too late to react as you continued to fall down.

When you made it down there gracefully, you quickly hid behind some machines without getting detected. You saw Demon Bull King along with his son standing there. Thus, you decided to listen on their conversation. The Bull King seemed to be very pissed as he watched through a screen in front of him. Redson smirked upon seeing Mk and Mei hang there helplessly, "Father, let me go up there and destroy those-..." Before he could finish his sentence, Bull King started to laugh.

"You? Why would I trust you?! You have brought me nothing but failure! Time and time again, nothing but disappointment!... Traitor? Yes! Perhaps!"

"What? No, father-..."

"YOU THINK YOU COULD DECEIVE ME? STAND AGAINST ME!"

You quickly moved as you saw the demon about to punch his own son. You pushed him away just in time as Princess Iron Fan held back his fist with her fan. Redson opened his eyes and saw you standing in front of him with your sword held out, "W-Wait! Y/N? What are you doing here?" He was surprised to see you after a long while... Like it had been years? You looked at him with confusion, "Huh? What was your name?" You asked with a tilt of your head.

Redson sweatdropped and then facepalmed, "You still forget, what did I expect." He uttered with a look of disappointment. You two turned around when DBK started to laugh, PIF was injured and unable to match his power. You squinted your eyes as you made up your decision, "He needs to be stopped." You mumbled before dashing forward.

"Mist Breathing: Fourth Form: Shifting Flow Slash." You ran faster then jumped high up, preparing to decapitate DBK once and for all. However...

"Y/N! No! Don't do this, please!"

You heard Redson scream out, begging you to not kill his father. For some reason, you found yourself changing your sword's direction, weakening your slash to just hit one of his horns. You flipped in the air and landed in front of PIF, "Why did I do this? Something had stopped me." You thought with a scoff then stood up. Just then, you three heard a scream coming from above. You looked up and saw Mk fall down, hitting the ground harshly, "Noodle boy?" Redson spoke up after seeing Mk.

DBK launched himself at Mk to attack, but PIF quickly acted and saved him. She then looked at you, "Y/N, you have to destroy the canisters. The power inside is driving him mad." She instructed, pointing at the canisters on her husband's back. Thankfully, Mk was distracting DBK; thus, you can break them without getting harmed. You nodded in understanding and then turned around to do as you were told. You noticed that Mk wasn't able to fight DBK since he was too powerful. You jumped in front of Mk to protect him which made the bull demon very upset, "More annoying brats to stand against me! I will destroy you all!" He yelled and was about to punch you.

"Mist Breathing: Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds." You mumbled. This form was simply based on disorienting your target as if you blend into the mist created by the confused target. DBK saw you approaching him slowly and punched you, but you dodged it quickly. You did this a few more times before you landed one slash on the canisters, separating them from DBK and making return to normal. Mk suddenly jumped on your back with excitement, "Yeah! You did it, Y/N! That was so cool!" He exclaimed with a big smile. However, your attention went the canisters on the ground.

You walked toward them and stared down at them with suspect, "These contain evil, they must be destroyed." You thought, raising your sword up to destroy them. However, a bright blue light surrounded the canisters before a ghostly figure escaped, but part of it shot through your chest and pushed you back. You dropped your sword as you fell down and put your hand on your chest, feeling pain and coldness go all over your chest, "Wh-What is that? My body feels cold." As you mumbled this, both Mk and Redson ran to your aid.

"Y/N, are you okay?" Both of them said in unison. When they realized this, they sent glares to each other. You forced yourself to stand up and pick your sword with you, "I'm fine, nothing happened." You assured, putting your sword back in its sheath. The place started to collapse and you all had to leave and immediately. Of course, Redson along with his mom and dad left first while you stayed with Mk. Thankfully, Mei came and saved you by using the Monkey Mech.

You eventually said goodbye to Mk and his friends and returned to your house. When you arrived to your house, you closed the door and dropped down, feeling so cold. Ginko saw this and flew to you, "Caw! What happened to you, Y/N? Caw! Is everything okay? Caw!" She asked with concern, knowing very well that you weren't fine at all.

"My body is refusing to move anymore, it's as if I'm put in ice." You replied as you put your hands on your chest. What you were planning to do to those canisters was a big mistake, you should have never approached them in first place. Hopefully, this won't have any side effects on you.
