Grateful Little Girl

❝What can I say? I'm dramatic.❞

IT WAS FINALLY over and you were free at last, no one to control you or tell you what to do. The Lady Bone Demon was defeated and gone. You didn't feel alive more than now, it felt like you were reborn again.

Maybe life will have a meaning now.

Maybe it was about time to redeem yourself and start a new, but without Wukong. You still hadn't forgiven him after he had done to you and after that night. You were still furious with him and you won't forgive him until he deems himself worthy of your forgiveness.

Anyway, you all were gathered around the fire somewhere on a mountain to have a hearty meal after that battle. You saw Mk sitting alone, so you went to tease him a bit and probably get his cooling bowl of noodles because he didn't seem to be eating it, "You were done with that, right?" You said with a smirk, holding out your chopstick. Mk scoffed and took the bowl away from you, "Well, actually I-..." The boy was cut off when the bowl was snatched from his hands by the one and only Monkey King.

"He was saving that for me, 'cause you know, I'm his mentor!" Wukong stated before gobbled up the noodles quickly. You huffed and raised an eyebrow, "Still the same Wukong, doing whatever he wants with no regard for others... at all." You uttered with frustration as you stood up, crossing your arms over your chest. Wukong glared at you in anger as well, "Mm, yeah! I'll keep that in mind next time you scheme with the enemy and almost get us all D-E-D!" Monkey King retorted, now you two facing each other with great hatred between you.

"Uh, you know you two are the same, right?" Poor Mk pointed out, not knowing that you two would yell at him.

"I'm nothing like him/her!" You two said in unison, making the young teen shut up.

You sighed and decided to leave because it was pointless staying here, "Hey! Where do you think you're going?" Wukong shouted his question, not liking the fact that you were leaving. You looked at him over your shoulder with a smirk on your face, "Don't know. Somewhere where I can do a bit of scheming, probably. See you around, MK." With that being said, you opened a portal beneath you and teleporting to your dojo.

You didn't know why Wukong was still acting like this toward you even after you saved his butt from LBD, but he was for sure such a jerk to blame you for scheming with her. You just wanted to stay alive! He didn't know the hell you went through to get your freedom after all those decades. But no~ you got to be blamed for things you were forced to do.

"Bastard." That was all you thought of.

Days passed after the battle, nothing seemed to be out of ordinary beside Mk's little adventures that weren't that serious. Speaking of him, Mk would every now and then drop you a delivery of noodles with a small childish drawing at your doorstep. You were confused at first, but you started to like it.

That boy was something different.

You almost felt bad for putting him into all those problems in the past, but what's done is done. Right now, you were just looking forward to start anew as an independent individual and stay away from Wukong as best as possible. However, faith had another twist for you. A new friend was approaching you.

Right now, you stood in front of the destroyed theater, "Great. Now my only career is gone." You mumbled and then let out a deep sigh, knowing that you will remain jobless and bored for a long while. With a shrug of your shoulders, you turned around to leave. However...

"You're that lady who helped me!"

You stopped in place upon hearing the sound and turned around, seeing the little girl who was once possessed by LBD, "Huh? Go away kid, I don't know you." You lied because you didn't want her to stick to you like glue. You proceeded to walk, but the little girl chased after you and stood in front of you to stop you from ignoring her, "You told me to run away that day, remember? My name is Bai He." The young child introduced herself to you.

"I want to thank you for saving me that day, so can we be friends please?"

"Uh... No need to thank me, kid, but I'm not really the friendliest person. So I..."

"Pretty please."

Bai He gave you her twinkling puppy eyes, holding into her jacket in a cute way. Oddly enough, you felt like you couldn't say no to her. Were you becoming a softie or does she have some sort of controlled power? Either way, you couldn't bring yourself to decline her request. So with a groan, you decided to agree, "I know I will regret this. Alright, I will be your friend, but don't stick to me too much." Your statement was enough to make the girl squeal and hug you tightly, "Whoa! Hey there! That was uncalled for." You said, surprised by her sudden gesture.

"Thank you, miss-... I didn't get your name."

"... It's the Six-Eared Y/N, but you can just call me Y/N."

"It's nice to meet you. I'm happy to be your friend, miss Y/N."

Bai He was now holding your hand in both hers, having a big smile on her face now that she finally met her savior and new friend. It was the first time someone desperately wanted to be friend after Wukong.

Maybe it won't hurt to have a friend.
