Ok so I know most of the people who actually read this stuff don't watch anime so they won't know what I'm even talking about, but I don't care capiche?
This is an obligatory chapter in which I say the things that need to be said because most other people won't do it. I don't really care about BNHA but the first two seasons were kinda fun.

People say Bakugou is a complex and smart character but that's because they're fanboys and fanboys do what fanboys do. 

(I don't think there are no females who say this stuff, but most of the fangirls will be too busy to do so due to swooning and shipping the obnoxious brat with whichever poor soul spent a second too long in his vicinity. RIP Deku)

Still, it annoys me that they worship Bakugou.

So here's where I explain why if you think Bakugou is the best, you're wrong and easy to impress.
And I will do so in detail so you can see the full extent to which you are wrong.
Don't worry, I do not resent you if you like him. I will probably think your taste isn't the best, but other than that I don't really care. I just need to say these things.

1) Bakugou is a complex character and most realistic boi almost like real hooman oh mah lawd I relate so much to him I - 

Bakugou has one primary character trait. Two, if we're generous.
He is hot-headed and prideful.
The hot-headed part is what makes him loud, annoying and dumb most of the time.
The prideful part is what makes him act like a douchebag, what makes him strive to be the very best of all the best and what makes him cry when he loses.
People think Bakugou is complex because they do not understand pride. 
They say "Oh no, because Bakugou always was the best he is totally broken now that he sees Deku is catching up to him and so he totally changes and it must be so hard", but let's be real people.

This is what happens:
Bakugou thinks he's cool but he is not. Reality catches up. Bakugou mad.

That's not complex and mysterious, that's just standard prodecure for anyone who gets too full of himself.
Only the fewest of those people get enabled so much that they never face any actual obstacle they can't overcome by smashing their stubborn little heads against it. 

2) Bakugou is 400 IQ genius and smartest boi in all of the anime and anyone who says otherwise is a jealous nerd

Some people like to say, "OMG BAKUGOU SO SMART" but yeah no.
The anime simply attempts to portray him as that. In reality, he is dumb when he follows his temper (60% of the time) and has a brain when he does not (when he sleeps or actually stops to think for a second). 
It is just that the moments when he does show to have a brain are in such a contrast to his usual demeanour that they do stand out a lot. In addition to that, those moments are either dealt with quickly enough so people likely won't question it or they result from people not actually understanding his mindset and the way he uses his quirk. Or both. It is often both.

An assortment of examples:

Bakugou explodes a lot
If there's one thing Bakugou loves, it is his explosions. Needless to say, he'll use them at any chance he gets. What happens if you do something at any chance you get and constantly try to be awesome?
You become really good at it.
For some reason in his case plenty of people don't seem to understand what practice and experimentation is and rate it is something only the big brain elite can do.

In the tournament arc, there is this one headband-collecting round where he coordinates his team to use their quirks in order to snatch the headbands of a team that provoked him in the speediest way possible.

Bakugou be like: speed + speed = super speed
Everyone: OMG IMPRESSIVE

A lot of what Bakugou does is like that. A lot of how his fans react is like that.
A lot of the people in the story itself are his fans. 
It is regrettable but that's just how things are sometimes.

Bakugou gets 3rd place on the written exam in his class 
He wants to beat the others in everything he can beat them in.
Therefore he studies a lot because he can't let the others be better than him but of course it happens off-screen because Bakugou too cool for school.
Also, anyone who has ever written a test knows it's almost always only about how much knowledge you crammed into your head beforehand.

Bakugou figures that Deku has All Might's quirk
Bakugou wants to be Number 1 hero just like All Might. Bakugou learns everything there is to learn from All Might. Bakugou can now recognise All Might's moves with his eyes tied behind his back. 
He has seen that quirks can get transferred.  Deku once told him he got his quirk from someone.
Deku's moves look an awful lot like All Might's.

Bakugou vs Ochaco
People like to use this fight to point out how great Bakugou's intelligence is.
But actually, what it demonstrates is how great Bakugou's quirk is.

Basically what happens is that Ochaco uses her quirk to make all the debris Bakugou's ongoing explosions create levitate and drop it down after enough of it has gathered. This is supposed to serve as a distraction so she can get in close to make Bakugou levitate too.

Now watch closely as Bakugou counters this - he blasts it all away in one shot! Pretty clever huh?

Ochaco's plan does not fail because Bakugou has seen through her - which he does only as the countless chunks of rock already begin to drop towards him - , it fails because she does not understand just how powerful his quirk is. Her own quirk has a clearly defined weight limit of things she can levitate at the same time. If she crosses  it, she will suffer consequences.
She kept going at Bakugou in an attempt to not only distract but also exhaust him. Which you would think it would but did not in the slightest because Bakugou has never shown to have limits. Explosions for days are perfectly okay to this guy. If things were different, even realising what is going on before Ochaco deactivates the levitation would be too late. 

Also, if Bakugou was acting smart in that fight, he would end it in one shot by blasting Ochaco out of bounds.
You might say "But he wanted to show his opponent respect and give a fair chance" and I say yeah you might want to ask Tokoyami about that. Here a quick picture of explosion boi in his natural habitat:

You also might say "UHH but that's not Bakugou's style, if he wins, he wins PROPERLY".
But if you think that exploding your opponent's face a couple dozen times is a proper way to win a sports festival, I really can't help you. Mortal Kombat would like to know your location, by the way.

Look, it's not even that I don't give him credit where it's due.
When he isn't busy being a moron, Bakugou is a quick thinker, knows his stuff (at least that which interests him) and has great situational awareness. I'm pretty sure he's awesome at videogames.
The reason I am annoyed is that people say he is "a natural-born genius" while mostly overlooking smart characters who cannot rely on OP AoE quirks with no real drawbacks other than they should kill their users but somehow don't.

Just to show what I mean, I'll list the smartest students in that story in my opinion who pretty much don't get recognised compared to Mr My-Head-Explodes. I would count Midoriya because he did some really neat things in the beginning, but when I stopped watching he had become so OP that one could not really see him use his brain that much anymore. Breaking your fingers 10000 times is pretty retarded in more ways than I could be bothered to count. Anyway here's the list:

Momo who can replicate complex mechanisms and molecular structures from her mind into real things that she then proceeds to use in rather creative plans. She needs to fully understand what she plans to produce down to the atomic level. And Bakugou's the genius? Yeah sure.

Mei with all the fancy gadgets she makes. She shows up in a fight like once in the tournament, completely embarrasses her opponent in front of a huge audience for like 10 minutes after tricking him into using her stuff, then forfeits for the icing on the cake and because the whole thing is actually just a free advertisement to her. Heck yes.

Monoma whose quirk is copying a different quirk by touching its owner for a limited amount of time, which is powerful but does not allow him to rely on skill. In order to do anything, he must quickly understand any new quirk and situation he encounters and how he can use it to his advantage.  Which he does.
You can see his ability to see the bigger picture in the tournament, and without Bakugou's plot armour, it would have been good enough to bring his team to the final round.
I was so annoyed when the guy effortlessly broke through the air shield that stopped him at first. That first time he propelled himself against it with an explosion and it didn't break the thing, but then a simple punch does? Try kidding someone else.

Mineta who you think is just your classic idiot pervert played for laughs until you learn that he passed a test to get into a school for superheroes with a quirk that is just balls he can pull from his head and stick to things.
That automatically makes him awesome. He has basically nothing, but he rolls with it and makes it work anyway despite being a smug crybaby with no redeemable qualities. This, my friends, is how you do a character born for meme life. 

For some reason all of these start with M and I can't help but thinking it is not a coincidence. 

Anyway if you want to see smart people in BNHA, those are the ones.
