He's Alive

"How, how can Kanan be alive?" Sabine asked, worried looking up at him.

"I didn't kill him." Ezra said in shock. How could he be alive? He was dead and I saw it, I caused it. Ezra thought, shaking. But all he could remember about that day was that he didn't take that final blow, he didn't kill Kanan. Ezra then collapsed into Sabine's arms in memory of that one fateful day.

"Ezra!" Sabine cried out as her boyfriend fell into her and was entrenched with the darkness of the past.

"I'm sorry Sabine, but you need to go, don't let my sacrifice be worth nothing." Kanan told her.

"Kanan, what sacrifice? We'll get out of this." She said.

"You will." He said as he closed the blast doors on the girl with tears in her eyes.

"I'm going to kill you for that Kanan." I said as I continued to fight him with more power than I knew was possible.

We fought down the hall of the star destroyer and I could tell the blind man, Kanan, was getting tired. I managed to cut his mask in half and it fell to the floor.

"Ezra." He said looking into my eyes and for one second we both stopped fighting and unignited our lightsabers.

"I love you." With that he put down his lightsaber and smiled.

And with that I reignited my saber and looked into his blind eyes.

"Goodbye Kanan." I said as I pulled my saber up to strike the final blow but he lifted his hand and forced pushed me back, I stumbled onto the ground narrowly avoiding my own lightsaber cutting off my arm.

"I still love you."  He said and started to run down the hallway. I saw him make way to the escape pods, but I looked out the port hole and saw the Ghost vanish into hyperspace. He can't escape now. I thought as I gained some ground on him, running as fast as I could.

He reached the escape loss and I tried to force grab him to stop him, but I wasn't strong enough, he quickly hit a button and the escape pod jettison out into space, I was about to go inform the Captain to shoot it down when the world went black.

The Ghost crew watched relived as Ezra started to blink awake.

"Ezra!" Sabine told him as he noticed he was in her lap.

"Sorry." He said getting up.

"What did you see?" Hera asked him, hoping it had something to do with Kanan's location.

"Kanan, I didn't kill him, he......he...escaped in an escape pod." Ezra told them.

"Do you know where he is now?" Hera asked him.

"No but I have a way to find out." Ezra told Hera as he got up from the chair.

"Ezra let's not act to rashly." Hera warned as the crew all looked at the boy.

"We have to go back to Lothal." He told us, wide eyed.

"We were just there." Zeb whined, and Hera shot him a look.

"What's on Lothal?" Hera asked ignoring Zeb as Zeb got up and cleared the waffles from the table.

"The ruins of the Jedi temple." Ezra responded.

On the distant planet of Lusio, three figures sat mediating.

"I sense something had changed." One of the figures, a man, said to the other two.

"I sense it too, I feel as if something is coming." A women said, none of them breaking there concentration, yet.

"But what is it, the light or the dark." The last figure said, a younger girl around 15, opening her eyes.

"We all knew that we wounldn't be hidden here forever." The woman said opening her eyes.

"I know." The man said standing up on their makeshift wood platform high in the trees, hidden away from the deadly pidaunts.

"It's time to go hunting." The woman said getting up.

"For quirrs?" The young girl said. "Not again."

"They're easier to catch than bitrees." The man said, putting out his hand to help the girl up.

"But bitrees taste better than quirrs." The girl said, taking his hand and getting up.

"I agree with you there." The woman said, going into the hut to grab her and the girl's guns.

"I'll stay here and keep watch." The man said and the young girl laughed. "I can sense things even if I can't see them." He told the girl.

"I know, but it's still funny." The girl said and the woman came out and handed the girl her blaster.

"Try and get a fire started before we get back." She said addressing the man.

"Don't worry I will." The man told them as the girl started to jump down from branch to branch to the forest floor.

"We'll be back." The woman told the man as he sat down in one of the chairs on the platform.

"You always are." He told her as she began her descent to the forest floor.

Touching down she met up with the girl, and they began to hunt for food.

"Come on then let's go." Sabine said heading to the cockpit.

"We were literally just on Lothal." Zeb said.

"You already said that Zeb." Ezra told the grumbling lasat.

"I know that Ezra." Zeb grumbled annoyed.

"Well you can stay here and not help find Kanan." Hera said following Sabine to the cockpit.

"No I'm coming." Zeb said following Hera.

"So Chopper..." Ezra started to try and make conversation with the droid, but he already rolled off to the cockpit.

"You coming Ezra." Sabine yelled back as he heard the engines roar to life.

"I'll be right there just set course to Lothal." He yelled back at her.

"Ok." Sabine told him backs and the ship left the hanger.

Ezra walked back to the rooms on the Ghost he walked over and opened Kanan's door. His Master's room was filled with dust and was empty of any possessions, long moved for other purposes. He sat down in the worn bed.  We're coming Kanan. He projected though the force, hoping that somehow he would hear Kanan's voice once again though the void of space.

The blind man sitting in the chair on the platform was shocked as he heard what his padawan projected to him. He felt no anger from him, no pain, only a longing for what he thought he lost.

"She did it, I can't believe it." He muttered to himself. "Sabine brought him back." He knew that his padawan's love for the mando was strong, but it's been three and a half years since he's seen his padawan, and the state he left him in. He never thought he would see him again, see any of the Ghost crew again and whatever his padawan's plan was for finding him, he was more than welcome to share his location. He misses his space family.

He leaned back in the chair and sat in the shade of the trees with the sun peeking though a hole in the canopy, warming his body, deep in thought.

He wondered how he could help his padawan, if he could help him.

I'll do whatever it takes. He thought as he heard shots from his companions taking down quirrs.

                            {•-•}

"I got one." The young girl said triumphantly as she shot one down and ran to the spot to claim it before a pikdaunt smelled it.

"Good job." The woman said as she shot one down herself.

"Two's a good haul, let's head back to Kanan." The woman said and hauled her quirr up on her shoulder and the young girl did the same.

"Let's just hope he got the fire started, his mind tends to wonder some days." The young girl said and the woman nodded.

"He's lost a lot." The woman replied back.

"You both have." The girl said and they reached the platform and began to force jump from branch to branch to get up.
