There's all this talk about April Showers, but we're ten days in and I don't think I've seen a drop of rain this month so far.  I guess that's sort of how it works in the desert though.  I'm sure there are parts of the world that are getting hit with torrential downpours as we speak.  But that's probably true all the time.  What's so special about rain in April?  It's supposed to bring May Flowers I guess.  Oh, I think I get it now.  If  it rains a lot in April, you're likely to get a lot of flowers in May.  I've seen that happen in the desert actually.  We'll get an unusually rainy spring and then there's a bloom of desert wildflowers.  It's cool when that happens.

On a side note, I bet it's annoying for people named April whenever they want to take a shower and some smart aleck has to make a dumb joke about it.  I can just about guarantee you that at some point there was a teenage girl named April and maybe she was one of those sullen types that locks themselves in their room for days on end.  One day she emerged because she felt the need to bathe and her dad was all "Finally!  April Showers!"

If this exact scenario hasn't happened at some point in the history of the world, I would be extremely disappointed in corny dads everywhere.
