"We need to get out of here." Sabine told Kanan as she got up and went over to the door. "But how? If only Ezra was here."

She jumped when suddenly the door opened and a trooper stood in the doorway.

"Sabine Wren you are wanted by the Grand Admiral." The trooper said. "Come along."

Sabine glanced at Kanan and followed the trooper out. He gave a her a quick smile for reassurance.

They walked down the halls of the star destroyer, she didn't try to run, knowing if she did she might lose them both.

The trooper opened a door and walked into Thrawn's command center with Sabine.

"You may leave us." He told the trooper and he nodded and walked out.

"Thrawn what do you want?" She asked him, venom dripping from her tone.

"Young Sabine, it's more of what Ezra wants to tell you." He said, grinning as Ezra walked out.

"Ezra?" She asked both of them confused.

Thrawn just ignored them both. He went over and sat at his desk and looked though files.

"Sabine I remember." He choked out.

"Everything?"

"Yes everything, every deed I did for the Empire, every person I killed, every supply run I did with you, every mission for the rebellion I went on. Everyone that I lost. Everything."

She eyed Thrawn and spoke. "Let's run then, you and me we can be with Hera again, be a family again."

"No Sabine, listen to me, we can't. It can't be like old times because both Kanan and Zeb are gone."

"Kanan is-" She started and be he cut her off.

"Listen Sabine, it was my fault they both died I couldn't save them."

"It's ok, Ezra."

"No it's not ok, it's not." He said and tears began to stream down his face. "It's not ok."

"Ezra forget it, it was in the past. It's over and done." She said, trying to hold back tears.

"Funny you should say forget." His tone changed and Sabine became afraid of him, she instantly felt guilty for being afraid of him, her Ezra.

"Thrawn has offered me an opportunity, I can forget all of that, the nightmares would end, even if I couldn't remember I would be at peace for not remembering and the past wouldn't haunt me anymore." He continued.

"Ezra you can't do this." She protested, her eyes watering. "That's not right."

He force pushed her back in anger and she stumbled to the floor.

"He offered to do it to you too, we won't remember our past but we would be happy, together."

She considered it for a moment then dismissed the idea completely.

"We can't Hera needs us, the rebellion needs us. This isn't you Ezra, we'll get back to the rebellion and remove your chip and everything will be normal, the same as old times." She begged.

"That wouldn't work." Thrawn interjected into the conversation.

"Why is that?" Sabine asked, wishing she had a weapon, anything to kill Thrawn with.

"Any attempt to remove his chip and it will explode, killing him and it's a sizable blast most likely killing anyone in a 20 foot distance." He knew he had her trapped. "And you wouldn't want that."

"Ezra I don't believe you, you don't really want this." She said, getting up. "I don't believe this is you."

"You don't believe me, I'll show you then." He pulled out a lightsaber from his belt, a soft blue glow admitted from the blade as he ignited it.

"Ezra what are you doing?" She said, backing up.

"I'm showing you." He said and held the saber to his face.

"WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING STOP IT EZRA, STOP IT!" She yelled afraid and taking a step closer to him.

"Showing you."

"Ezra stop please." She said looking around at Thrawn's art collection, she wasn't sure what was holographic and what was real, she tried to grab a gun but it disappeared into her fingers.

"For Kanan." He mumbled and looked up at Sabine for the last time. Their eyes met and Sabine figured out his intentions.

"EZRA NO!" She yelled as she saw the lightsaber slash his eyes and he fell over unigniting the lightsaber and put his arm over his eyes.

Sabine grabbed a Jedi temple guard mask, that was luckily not holographic and threw it at Ezra's feet.

She saw him pick it up and put it over his face.

"Believe me now?" He asked, now surrounded by darkness.

"I still don't Ezra."

"Are you sure?" He asked, in pain grabbing his lightsaber once more.

"Ok ok I believe you." She said, being crushed by the harsh reality that was her life, that was real.

Then she heard a door open and saw a figure walk in, Kanan. He came over and stood before them.

"Look Ezra it's Kanan, just look." She said in tears, knowing that he couldn't see it.

"That's not Kanan, Sabine." He told her, sensing something was up.

"Yes it is just look." She choked out.

Kanan walked over and sat beside Sabine.

"We have to go." He said, pulling her off the floor. "We have to leave."

"I can't leave Ezra, he's a danger to himself." She cried out as Kanan took a firm hold on her.

"We have to Sabine, he'll forget this later we have to go." He told her, forcing her away.

"But I won't forget." She muttered and looked at Ezra.

"Sabine that's not Kanan, that's not him." Ezra continued to yell at her. "Don't trust him."

"He not right in the head, we have to go." Kanan told her as she struggled to get free.

"I can't leave him." She said. "Not when he needs me."

"Forgive me then." Kanan told her and she felt a shot of pain in her arm.

"Ezra I lo-" She started to say when her whole world went black and she went unconscious.

Kanan picked up Sabine and ran out on Ezra and on Thrawn.

Ezra collapsed on the floor and started to breathe heavily.

"What have I done?" He choked out, sobbing.

"Don't worry, you won't have to remember any of this soon."

Ezra turned his head to where the sound was coming from both scared and relived for what was to come.
