Justin's POV

My eyes opened slowly, as the sun peeked through the window, and warmed my face.

Sunlight. One of the few small things that brings me hope. Enough hope to keep me going. Enough to face the next day head on.

I let out a small yawn, and looked at Yuuki, who held me close to her. Her arms were wrapped around my torso, gripping me gently, while she slept.

She looked so peaceful.

I reached over to her, and stroked her cheek.

'She may seem to be a badass, but on the inside, she's very caring and gentle.' I thought, stroking her cheek.

She moaned softly, and opened her eyes. She blinked a few times, smiled at me, and said "Good morning, Justin."

I returned the smile, and said "Good morning, Yuuki." We laid still for a moment, in silence.

I wish moments like this could last forever.....

Yuuki sat up, and stretched her arms upwards, while yawning.

I sat up, kneeled on one leg, and stood with no problems.

"It seems your wounds are fine." Yuuki said, unwrapping the bandages.

"Yeah, my wounds heal pretty quick. I don't know why though..." I replied. She finished unwrapping them, and threw them into a trash bin.

"Your things are in the cupboard over there in the corner." She said, pointing.

"Thanks." I said, and went over to the cupboard. I opened it, and put my clothing on. Then, I wore my armour over it, and over my armour, I wore my trench coat.

"You must be pretty strong to wear that much clothing at once." Yuuki admired.

"Ah, this is nothing compared to my master's training gear." I said.

"What did you wear then?" She asked, curiously.

"I wore 40 pound weights on my arms and legs, and a 75 pound weight around my body. My master said Endurance and Strength are the main qualities of a master swordsman."

Out of nowhere, the building started to rumble. RRRUUUMMMMBBBLLEE!!!!!!!!!

"S**t! Not again!" Yuuki yelled, dragging me. I began running with her, considering how heavy I am.

"What's going on?" I asked, as we ran down two flights of stairs.

RRUUMMBBLLEE!!!!!

"This place is coming down! I don't know how! This happens every few days!" She said, as we made it outside.

RRUUMMBBLLEE!!! CRUMBLE! CRUMBLE! RRUUMMBBLLEE!!

We ran as far as possible, and watched the building fall. When it was falling, I swear hundreds of screaming people were silenced. Crushed underneath the rubble. I could see body parts sticking out. They tried, but failed.

My knees shook, and I fell to my knees. Tears rolled down my cheeks, as a large pool of blood appeared around the rubble. I began sobbing.

Yuuki placed a hand on my shoulder. I looked at her to see that she was shedding tears as well.

"At least they'll rest easy now." Yuuki said, holding back her sobs.

I nodded, and clasped my hands together. I made the sign of the cross, and began praying.

"O Father. I pray to thee to accept these lost souls in Heaven. And I also ask that you watch over Yuuki and I, so that we may find my friend, Courtney. Amen." I made the sign of the cross again, stood up, and wiped my tears.

The ground began rumbling again.

"What the hell?!" Yuuki shouted, as the ground started cracking.

When it cracked, I wish I never knew what I saw. This... Thing.... looked like a giant worm.

Except the mouth was full of teeth that were at least a foot long. Dark red scales covered its body, and two long pincers stuck onto the side of its mouth. It had five black eyes, and I could see human bones in between some of its teeth.

RROOOOOOAAARRR!!!!! GRRRR!!!

It looked our way. "We better run." I suggested. When I looked behind me, Yuuki was already running.

"Hey! Don't leave me behind!" I yelled, running after her.

RRROOOOOOAAARRR!!!!

It dug downwards, and began chasing us.

"AAAAHHHH!!!!!" I shouted, running as fast as my legs could take me.

"This way! Hurry!" Yuuki yelled going into a building.

"Are you crazy?! Did you see what that thing does to a building?" I shouted, in reply.

"I have an idea!" She said, as we ran up the stairs.

"So much stairs..." I said, after three flights of stairs.

"We're almost there!" She said, as a few drops of sweat fell off her face.

We reached the top of the stairs, and went through the roof door.

I walked to the middle of the roof and said "So this is your great plan? We trap ourselves in the worst place for us?"

"LISTEN!!" She shouted, making me jump. She put her hands on her hips, and began to explain.

"This is the plan. Lure it up here, then when it tries to charge at us, we dodge. Understand?" I nodded.

"Sorry about yelling at you." I said, nervously scratching my head.

RRRUUUMMMBBBLLLEEE!!!!

RROOAARRRR!!!!

And soon enough, it climbed over the ledge, and began charging at us.

It began to get closer...

"Yuuki.... Now?" She didn't respond, as it got closer.

"Yuuki?" It was getting dangerously close.

"NOW!!!" She said, jumping to the side. I did the same, nearly being flattened. The worm fell off the roof and plummeted down.

RRROOOAARRRRR-SPLAT!!!

We looked down to see that the worm was nearly flattened, with green guts, bones, and blood everywhere.

"Ewwww!!!" Yuuki responded, shaking her hands.

"That's really gross." I said, grimacing.

"Well, now that that's over, lets get going." Yuuki said, cracking her knuckles.

I drew my sword, and smiled.

"Let's go."
