Pikadash sat down in the chair positioned in front of her desk, and flipped open her laptop, clicking opening Discord. A few of her friends in her server had planned to play mafia around 1:30, and she had been nominated to play the role of narrator. About ten other people that she knew of would be playing.
Her eyes flicked to check the time in the corner of the screen. It read 1:19.
Hi guys she typed as soon as she entered the server. Little bubbles jumped up and down under the chat bar, indicating other people were currently typing. A second later, several other people responded.
Hey Toasty said.
Hi! Arianatheoz said eagerly.
Hey hey The_Story_Nerds responded.
Several other players, HomelessTaco, Stormsly, SophdaughterofPosideon, Thor_squishy, Dragon_King, Revan, and Ivanaa, responded, saying hi, or another form of greeting.
Is this everyone? Are we ready to play? Pikadash asked everyone.
I've been ready! Arianatheoz said.
Definitely Revan replied with a thumbs up.
Great, I'll send you guys your roles. Pikadash typed. She flipped over to the direct messages, clicking on each individual players profile. She sent each of them their roles. The players either got the role of innocent, murderer, doctor, and in this instance, the spy and the clown were added due to the amount of people playing. The game goes this way; the narrator sets a scene, night falls, then they ask who the murderer wants to kill, and who the doctor wants to save. Those certain people answer in the dm's. The spys job is to figure out who the murderer is, but they get an advantage by getting hints every round. The clowns job is to get voted out to win.
Everyone 'wakes up,' then the narrator announces who died, and in the instance if someone was saved. Then everyone else must talk and vote for who they think the killer might be. If they are wrong, then the game continues until either they eliminate the murderer, or the murderer lasts until there's only one player left.
Everyone enjoyed playing this game, and being the narrator is especially fun. It was often a 50 50 to whether the murderer was caught, because usually theres no solid evidence for anything. Everyone wanted to win, and especially the murderer, so they can brag how they outsmarted the others. It's hard to catch someone stumbling or seeing the reaction on their face, because it's all virtual. But nevertheless, everyone has a blast playing the game together.
Ok, everyone should have their roles now Pikadash announced. She waited for the replies of confirmation to continue.
Let tHhEe--- Pikadash started to type. But on all their computer screens, to all ten players, their screens began doing the same exact thing. The discord website suddenly froze, got all fuzzy, then glitched out completely. The screens were a skew of their previous chats, then began blinking and sliding left and right. The screens then changed into a frenzy of color, then they turned black all together, the computers shutting down. But after a second, they turned back on again with a click. In the middle of the black screens, they all said the same words, glowing a light red. They said;
'LET THE GAME BEGIN'

Hey! Pikadash here. It's been a while since I started writing this, but it was for a good reason. I wanted to write a good bit and make sure everything worked and nothing was to repetitive. But I think this is going to work. Its really fun writing this, and the mystery aspect excites me, even though I already know what's going to happen! I hope you guys enjoy this story and let me know what you think of it. Also thanks to my friends, the players that are in the story.
