I ran through the hall, the pattering of my bare feet hit the cold tiles as I ran my hand along the stone wall. I looked back, trying to see them. I tried to speak, opening my mouth to let words come out, but I knew it wouldn't work. It had never worked.

“Hiding again Erissa?” A voice whispered in my ears and I blocked them, pressing my palms hard against the skin. I ran through the hall, looking over to the left. I looked at the metal door and grabbed onto the handle, turning it. The door didn’t open. I looked back behind me, leaning on the door with my ears still covered. The door slid opened and I tumbled in, looking around before jumping up and locking the door.

“Erissa." The voice whispered outside the door, the young female voice of a child, slow and drawn out sneaking in through the cracks of the door frame. "Erissa, come out and play.”

The door started to bang and I gasped. I glanced around the room, giving violent shivering motions. I looked at the dark corners, and heard a louder bang. I looked at the door’s hinges, seeing the shake as they almost break. I dashed to the furthest corner on the left, and felt myself slip down. I looked down, watching the fall as I slipped further into the darkness. I closed my eyes, and felt my back arch. I rolled over and looked at the dark room, trying to find any sort of light.

“Erissa. Erissa. Where are you? We haven’t finished playing Erissa.” The voice called from the room and I pushed myself up. I put a hand on the wall, feeling some sort of slimy thing and pulled my hand away in haste. I stepped forwards, still shivering violently.

“Erissa. Erissa. Erissa. Erissa. Erissa. Erissa.” The voice echoed down the hole. My ears started ringing as something scratched the metal. I started running, ignoring the squelching of the mud below. I ducked at the archway ahead and glanced around, glancing for the light source in the dimmed room..

“Erissa. Erissa. Where did you go?”

I looked at the door, slamming it shut and leaning against it. I felt my breath sounding heavy, and I jumped ahead as I ran through the dark and damp hallway. I grabbed at the door handle, trying to open it. I slammed on the door, wondering if it would open up like the other door.

“There you are. I can see you, Erissa.”

I turned around, looking at the creature in front of me. I wanted to talk, I wanted to tell it to go away. Instead I fell to the ground, closing my eyes and covering my ears. The creature gave a quiet laugh, falling to the ground and lifting up my head and opening my eyes with a caring manner. I looked into it’s cold, dark eyes and glanced back down, seeing his bone white hand.

“It’s rude to run away Erissa.” The voice whispered and I closed my eyes again, turning away from the thing in the black robe. I leaned against the door, trying to mutter anything. Whisper anything. I felt my head pound, and let out a sigh as the tension in my body disappeared. I looked around, watching as everything blurred. I rested my head on the door, and felt the world spin, and then disappear
