Chapter 4
Mangle sat staring at the poster of her when she was whole. She couldn't get over the horrible feeling in her heart.
Of course she had a heart. A mechanical one that pumped oil to her body so that the employees wouldn't have to refill her oil everyday. But once she was 'brought to life', so to speak, her little oil box turned into a heart and that's how she felt emotions.
But now she had a horrible feeling in her heart. She did like Foxy, she had to admit, but he was like all the others: too obsessed with hunting Vincent to care about her feelings. She had come straight to Kids Cove after his rude suggestion and had broke into tears; silent tears. She didn't want to alarm anybody, because she knew that if Toy Freddy, or Fredd, found out that she was in love/hanging out with one of the old animatronics, she would be banned from ever seeing him again, even during the night.
Mangle wiped at her eyes with her right hand and laid her head down on the cold floor. She was totally used to sleeping on the cold hard floor, and now, instead of being uncomfortable, it became sort of a comfort to her. The cold dark floor provided her with a place to drift off into her thoughts, to relax and push aside her troubles. She loved Kids Cove, and she never wanted to leave.
But she did leave it a few times every two nights or so. She didn't want to leave, but she didn't want to upset Fredd. She knew better than to upset him. Even though she was 2 inches taller than him, and much stronger, even she would cower in fear when Fredd got angry.
And boy, could he get angry. Sometimes, the entire room would shake from his yells when he got angry. Mangle thought it best to try and keep Fredd calm, so she hunted the nightguard once every two nights. She refused to do it every night, for she liked having full nights to just lay on the cold, hard floor and think.
When she re-awoke, she instantly felt different. She felt warmer. Sitting up, she realized what it was immediately. Someone had put a blanket on her, and laying on the floor a few feet away was a small piece of folded paper. Mangle unfolded the paper to see very messy handwriting, but she managed to read it.
Dear Mangle,
Lass, I never meant ter make ye upset. I just want revenge, ye know. I bet ye want revenge on those kids fer takin' ye apart. It's the same with me and Vincent. I just gotta make 'im pay. I know ye're gettin' tired of hearin' this. I bet ye just think I don't care 'bout you unless ye help me. Well, I do care 'bout you. I've just been obsessed with hunting Vincent for 4 years now, so I'm sorry if I seem insensitive. I just really wanna make Vincent pay.
Look, I'm sorry for sayin' what I said earlier. I should've been more attentive ter ye. Please forgive me. I can understand if ye don't. I'll give ye a night to think. I bet ye'll have an answer by then. Just don't hate me Mangle.
Please.
~ Foxy
Mangle groaned after reading the letter, but she was undeniably happy. Just don't hate me Mangle. It seemed as though Foxy liked her back. Mangle grabbed a piece of blank crumpled paper from the floor and wrote a letter back. She then laid her head back down on the floor and pulled the purple blanket over her. "Good night me." She whispered. She pressed her lips to her own letter, then pulled back to see the red lipstick mark on the paper. Smiling, she placed the paper in the corner of the room where only she could find it, then laid her head back down and fell asleep, waiting for morning to come, and to endure her daily torture with the toddlers.
But for once, she didn't seem to care. All she cared about just then was Foxy. She smiled slightly as she finally drifted off into slumber.
The next night came, and Mangle was prepared. She hung in the darkness of the hallway, waiting for Foxy. And sure enough, he came at around 2 am, holding his hook up menacingly. Mangle dropped the paper to the floor, where it fell and brushed against Foxy's leg. Mangle rushed back to Kids Cove as silently as possible as Foxy picked up the letter.
An hour later, Mangle was fast asleep in Kids Cove, her purple blanket pulled over her, when someone shook her awake. Mangle woke up and looked over to see Foxy, the letter clutched in his hand.
"Aye, Foxy, hello. I'm sorry fer not handing you the letter in person, I-"
Mangle was interrupted as Foxy leapt forward, glee in his yellowish-green eyes, and he kissed Mangle. Her eyes widened, but then slowly closed.
"It's fine lass." Foxy replied. "It don't matter."
"Really? I thought ye'd be more upset. My letter was a bit insensitive in a way..." "Nah, it wasn't at all, lass. It was very sweet and kind. I like ye too Mangle."
"Really?"
"Really."
Mangle weakly smiled. As Foxy leaned forward and hugged her, the letter fell to the floor.
Dear Foxy,
I'm sorry fer leavin' so suddenly. I'm just so sick of everyone dismissing me feelings as less important than killing Vincent. I'm glad yer so sorry 'bout it. I truly am.
Truth is, I kinda like ye. That's why I got so upset. I liked ye, and ye went and said that; it broke me heart. I thought ye'd be different, but yer just the same as everyone else.
But ye're a bit different. Ye actually seem ter care.
Ye show so much guilt fer sayin' that. It amazed me, 'onestly. I'm so glad ye're so sad that ye said that ter me. No one's ever felt this sad for doing something like that ter me.
We're still friends, don't worry. I still like ye. Maybe even more now. Just please try and not focus solely on Vincent. I know it's hard, but I have feelings, and I don't want them ter be ignored.
Just stay with me please.
Please.

Two hours later, Fredd walked around the pizzeria as the final hour was coming to an end. "Mangle?" He cried, walking into Kids Cove.
Mangle was laid on the floor, her purple blanket over her cold body, a smile on her sleepy face. A small, soft snore came out of her mouth. Fredd sighed.
There was only 5 minutes left until the nightguard left. Then, they had one hour before the pizzeria opened.
Fredd wanted to wake Mangle, but he thought better of it. She seemed way too peaceful to interrupt. Mumbling to himself, Fredd walked towards the hallway.
Mangle opened one eye blearily, gave a weak smile at the welcoming darkness and warm blanket, and laid her head back down.
She didn't care that she would have to endure another day of being torn apart. All she could think of was Foxy.
As Mangle fell asleep, her broken, shattered heart seemed to heal just a tiny bit.
Unbeknownst to her, she was starting on the path to recovery. And Foxy was going to lead her the entire way.
Wow. I think this is the longest chapter of anything I have ever written.
Word count: 1220.
We're finally getting right to the romance with this one! I'll try to hurry up with my other fan fics, such as my Redney and Mithross one, and get to the romance in those two.
Don't worry, some adorable romance moments are coming up in my Redney fan fic. Just wait.
Anyways, I gotta turn off my computer before I fall asleep. Good night!
~ Liz
P.S. Tell me if you want to see some Bonnie x Toy Chica in future chapters. I'm happy to oblige if you do.
