Me: But *I* want to be there for them.

God: I think what you should have said is that you need them to be there for you.

Me: I mean, in a way I guess that's true, but—

God: BUT? ... Abby, you don't have to have everyone surrounding you to confirm that you're "such a beautiful, strong Christian" or that you're so blessed. You don't need any of that because when you believe it on your own terms, that's when you are truly blessed.
