Just to let you know, I'm Bella, and I'm a person that would be called a survivor. A person who would be known as a survivor is one who has experienced the violence of a group of people who call themselves The Hunters, pretty lame name I suppose. It has been 3 years since the village was violently attacked by The Hunters and, the disappearance of my parents and sister. I haven't found any other of the survivors yet but I have found a shelter in the Rocky Mountains. These are the very steep and rough mountains that you would be able to see from far away which could even mean the sea coast which is 9 kilometres away. No one has ever dared to seek shelter around the Rocky Mountains. But I did. I didn't choose to go to the mangrove woods which was north of the village, I couldn't have risked entering such a vast and dangerous place. So I've been staying in a dark and damp cave near the High Peaks.
I gazed outside the mouth of the cave to glimpse a crack of thunder split the sky up above. I looked longingly down at the luscious green grass in the valley far down bellow. I took a sidelong glance at an ash of ruins and notice slight movements through the burned wood of what used to be a few houses. I blink thinking that it was just my imagination but when I looked closer, I saw a flicker of light. It was darker with a shadow edged around it. I peered closer through the clear patter of raindrops and see a small orange flame like a torch. Apart from the vicious storm, it was probably the only movement down in the ruin at the center of the deep green valley. Darkness engraved its shadows further towards narrow paths deep within the trees of a forest where rumors across the land spread about The Hunters supposedly setting up base there. While I was staring thoughtfully at the woods bellow, a howl broke me away from my thoughts making me jump with surprise. That sudden moment quickly faded and I raced deep inside my cave towards a long carved metal blade with a pair of small shimmering silver blades with the handles engraved with the shape of an animal. I grab the weapons and stick them each in a a few leather sheathes on my back. The howling broke off into growling just outside the shadows of the entrance. A pair of glowing eyes lit up as another crack of thunder split the air. I unsheathe the pair of silver blades and lash them out in a warning at the menacing creature. It cowered on the edge for a few seconds then it changed its stance into a pouncing position then leaped swiftly onto a rock beside me. Through the darkness, I could just make out the figure of an animal no smaller than a dog and it was obviously was a young wolf but it was still as ferocious. Once again it leaped but this time, it was right at me. Gripping my blades tightly, I do a forward roll underneath the wolf and jump up spinning and I knock the wolf out with the hilt of my blade.
"I don't believe in this sort of violence," I whisper, "only if I really have to".
The young wolf lay whimpering on the ground for a few fast moments until it stopped but the breathing had only deepened showing that it was unconscious.
