Chapter 9: Gideon Pines
Pacifica POV
"Wait? What?" Cody asked.
"We need to go to Gravity Falls, Oregon." I replied as I head into the van.
"But..."
"Cody, please, we need to be there now." I went inside the van and then poke my head out, "Oh and we are stopping in Colorado to pick up Gideon."
I can't do this alone and I need his help.
"What!"
"Cody, please. It's important."
"Is it about your crazy dream?"
"It's not a crazy dream..." I trailed off as I headed to the diver seat, "Now get in if you want to come."
"Well duh! It's my van and you are my wife." He replied as he got in. I shiver when he called me his wife. I'm not his wife...I'm Dipper's wife.
"What has gotten into you?" Cody asked.
"You wouldn't understand." I muttered.
"Pacifica, what wouldn't I understand? You need to talk to me, Pacifica. This isn't what married couples do...keeping secrets."
I sigh, "Cody...please..."
"What's going on? Pacifica please talk to me." He reached out to me and grabbed my arm, "My dearest...please talk to me."
I sigh, "I don't belong here."
"What do you mean?"
"This isn't the life I remember, it isn't the life I'm living."
He just looked at me. I sigh, "In the world that I lived...My parents never got into a divorce. They were about too but my boyfriend, Dipper Gleeful, was rich and gave them the money they needed. After a few years of dating him we got married and I was pregnant with twins."
Cody just looked at me, "I think that was a dream, Pacifica."
"It was not a dream. It was real. The way how I'm here is because Stan, Dipper's evil great uncle, took a crystal and change history. I remember everything because I held the stone. I don't remember anything from this life...only from my real life."
"And...you want to go back?"
"Yes."
Cody seemed a bit hurt and confused, "So this Dipper guy...You like him better?"
"First off....I don't know nothing about you. Only your name and that we end up getting married. The other me, who is your wife, would remember everything about you and nothing of Dipper."
"So you traded places?"
Sure why not go with that, "Yes. She is trapped in my world. I need to get to Gravity Falls to fix this...so you can have your wife back." Cody nodded, "This is what we were taught, right?"
"Huh?"
"Well since the world been haven't no peace at all...weird things happen and I guess this is what happens! Can't wait to tell people at the conference."
I nod my head, "Alright then." With that I started the van and we started to drive. It was going to take a few days, since we were in Texas. With a whole day of driving we made it to Colorado, but not near Gideon's place.
"You can sleep on the floor and I'll sleep in the seat." I ordered.
"Huh?"
"I'm not going to sleep with you, I'm not your wife remember. I woke up screaming and nearly about to beat you with a pipe. I'm with Dipper."
"Oh yeah...are you sure you don't want to sleep on the floor and I'll sleep here?"
"Yeah I'm sure, because if I sleep on the floor it would be easier to sneak into the bed."
Cody looked at me, "Wow."
"Sorry...Dipper taught me a few things of logic behind everything."
"He sounds like a smart guy."
"It's more as common sense. In my world...he...he deals with people that hate him and his family."
Cody nod his head, "Okay then." Cody then went to the back to sleep. I snuggle into the seat, looking out the window to the stars, "Don't worry guys...I'm going to fix this. Stan isn't going to get away with it...whatever he's planning." Then I rubbed my stomach, it was nice to not being so big but the thought that two lives were just gone, stings. I can't have that on my shoulders that two lives were destroyed because their parents never got together. They could have done something great with their lives...I can't hold that burden.
In the morning we headed off again, to Gideon's place. We made it there in the early afternoon. I looked at the old house, "So this is where Gideon lives." I muttered. "Yep, still lives in his parents' home." Cody explains, "Of course not with the parents there. They died years ago."
"Wow, really?"
"Don't know how though...people say it was suicide."
"W-What?"
"It was just a rumor, I don't know if it's true or not."
I opened the door, "It doesn't matter anyways." Then I headed up to the door and knocked. At first there was no answer, so I knock again, "Gideon? It's me...Pacifica. I know it's been a while but can you please-"
"Go away!" I heard Gideon shout. I was startle how rude he was sounding.
"Gideon!"
"I said go away!"
I sigh, "Gideon, please open up...Um...I'm pregnant." Thought I could play this card to get him out. Gideon has always had a soft heart for children.
Nothing. I guess that was good, right?
"And it's not Cody's kid."
Nothing still.
"Gideon, you got to help me! He...He knows that I had an affair...I'm in trouble Gideon. He's...He's been abusing me...I afraid that he'll do worse. Gideon please, you got to help me..."
Then the door was opened. I was surprise to see him...like this. He was larger with a beer belly and a scruffy look.
"Oh gosh Gideon...wh...what happened to you?" I gasped out.
"Where is that son of a-"
"Gideon!" I hugged him anyways. He was surprise, "Uh.....Pacifica?"
"Oh Gideon! I'm sorry what happened between us! Please Gideon! Forgive for what I've done!" I was actually crying. I needed to see someone that wasn't totally screwed over because of this stupid universe. Even though he was still not the same Gideon but his heart still hasn't change.
"Pacifica...I..."
"Please say you forgive me, Gid."
"Oh...uh...Okay...I forgive you."
"Thank you!" Then I release with a huge smile, "Oh and just saying that I lied. I'm not pregnant." That was weird to day since for the past 6 months I've been saying that I was.
"So you lied to get me out?!"
"You aren't mad...are you?"
Gideon looked at me. Then he sighs, "I...I guess not..."
I smiled, "Great!" Then I hugged him again and Gideon was just even more confused, "Uh, Pacifica?"
I just held him tightly as tears continue to run down my cheeks.
"Pacifica? Are you like full on crying?"
"Yes...it's hard to explain but I need your help."
"What?"
I pulled back and wipe the tears from my cheeks, "You aren't going to believe me...But there world is mess up."
"Oh I believe you there." Gideon grumbled.
"No...so...I'm not from this world. I'm from a different alternant universe. I'm not supposed to be here. I'm not supposed to be married to Cody and we aren't supposed to be fighting. Where I'm from I was married to Dipper Gleeful and we were super close and you lived in Gravity Falls."
"Uh..."
"Weird I know but trust me. I just need your help. I need you help for me to get back."
"Is this a hippie thing?"
I rolled my eyes, "Gideon please....I just need your help to go back to my world."
"You sound crazy. It is a hippie thing and-" He started to raise his voice.
"I know everything about you Gideon Charles Pines! You lived with your parents. You were more as a mommy's boy. You loved your mother. You are a fun and sparky person. You love mysteries and excitement of the unknown. This is the unknown...with magic."
"Magic?"
"Yep. There is this stone that you can change the past with. Stan, Dipper's evil great uncle, used the stone and he changed everything! Dipper and I never meet and you are like this."
"Pacifica...this is insane..."
I sigh in frustration, "Gideon it's true, I know it's crazy but you got to believe me. If you don't help..." I had to think about something. "Two lives are at stake."
Gideon looked at me, "what?"
"In that other world I was pregnant with twins. I meant to have them of course but since he changed that." I placed my hand over my stomach, "They are gone, Gideon."
Gideon just looks at me. Boy this is harder than I thought. I looked up at him with tears at the corners of my eyes, which 90% of them were true. "Gideon please. The twins are gone, I'm with a stranger, we aren't friends, and everything in this life is mess up! You are all I know that could help me. Stan is a dark and twisted man and who knows what he had done to Dipper. He hated Dipper and blames him from everything that happened to him. Please...Gideon...you are all I could think of that could help me. You are so brave and strong with our other adventures. You got to help me Gideon. Please. I know it sounds crazy but trust me on this...I know you always have a sweet tooth for magic and I can give you that."
He just continues to look at me like I'm crazy. Then he ran through his scruffy beard thing, "Prove to me."
"That magic is real? I so got that." I replied. then I stretched out my hand and did a spell that I learned from the journal, "Roselacka" Then a rose grew in my hand. Gideon's eyes widen, "Holy mother of sugar and cookies! Y-You just did that!"
"Yes...yes I did." I smiled and giggled at his reaction.
Gideon ran through his hair, "Y-You just made a rose out of m-midair!"
I nod my head. It will take him time to figure this out...but time isn't what we have. Dipper could be in trouble or worse. "Yes, Gideon, now since you now that magic is real...I need your help."
Gideon still had a shock face still. I wave my hand in front of his face and it didn't move at all. I had to snap my fingers and he blinked and shook his head. "Gideon? Are you with me?"
"what?"
I rolled my eyes, "Are you with me in saving Dipper and getting this all fixed?"
Gideon nod his head, "Yes...for the magical adventure."
