Sue
Dear Diary,
As a mother of three, life can be hard. But life can also be the best blessing to have. When I wished my two twins good luck on their first day of first grade. And when I dropped Little Peter off at preschool. I realized how blessed I am, to have these children in my life. To have the opportunity to raise them as my own.
I set down the pen and close the book. Some may think it's weird for a mother to write in a diary, but what else can I do. I already packed the kid's lunches for the next day, cleaned the house, and uploaded a new video on my YouTube channel. Yes, I got so bored that I started a YouTube channel.
I slumped on the couch and stared at the oven clock.
Only 12 PM!
The kids come back in 3 more hours! I sigh and check on my lasagna in the oven. It's ready sooner than I thought so I wrap it in foil and keep it in.
Then, with nothing else to do, I walk in circles around the house...
"What to do... what to do..." I sigh to myself. Then, I suddenly stop in my tracks. "Mom's club!"
It may seem like a horrible idea but I'm thrilled at the thought. I hop on my husband Luke's computer and search up some locations.
I find one and I am soon at the entrance of the building. I open the glass doors and am welcomed with the aroma of hot chocolate.
"Hello! Welcome to Mom's Club! How may I help you?" A woman at the front desk says.
I walk over to her and smile, "Sue Miller, I was interested in signing up for the program."
"Perfect timing! The group session just started a couple minutes ago. You can hop right in if you would like."
I nod and am grateful for the coincidence. I walk into the room on my right like she says and about six mothers turn their heads in my direction. "Hello, ladies! My name's Sue, and I'll be joining you today."
The women all stand up at once and greet me with kisses. They are all a couple years older than me except for two. "Hey there Sue! I'm Keisha, and welcome to the group!"
The mothers laugh and we just talk. It's as simple as that. Yet, it was one of the best things I've done in a while. The woman at the front desk brings in some coffee and we chat about our little ones.
Here are the six mothers I get to know:
Keisha: Definitely the leader of the group. Everyone seems to go to her if they have a problem at home. The most experienced out of all of us, one Teenage Daughter and a College Graduate.
Tae: Single mother of five children. She's on a low income and works three jobs but she's probably the happiest out of all of us.
Stephanie: Probably eighty if I would guess correctly. She has three grandchildren and always brings cookies to our sessions. They taste delicious.
Emily: The youngest of all of us. Eighteen years old with a year old son. Always crying and asking us for help.
Christy: Knows the latest drama, start a conversation with her, and you'll be knowing everyone's life story.
Srinithya: Always bragging about her son Shreyas' academic achievements. Talks of basically nothing else.
And then there's me, Sue Miller. Twenty-seven-year-old mother of three... with no clue what she's doing here.
