The glint of light on silver
In the streetlight's beam,
And his newly-broken
Masochistic smile's gleam.
Sharp shiny bullets tearing
Through his delicate flesh.
Cutting, every single one,
Into his exposed chest.
The triumphant look he wore
Just before he fell,
And right then so did I--
into an icy hell.
Down the rabbit hole,
Past the memories there stored,
Hoping the sign I wore--
EAT ME--
Wouldn't be ignored.
Eat me like you did them;
Devour me; swallow me;
Drive yourself mad and
Gulp me like tea.
Take me to the queen,
Let me join the parade
Of others awaiting
The relief of a blade.
Burn me to ash,
The pain too great to fit
Inside one small person--
Set fire to it.
Let the cards paint me
The color of the blood I've seen
And when they are done
Wash me white and clean.
Then hang me to dry,
Or march me to death.
Beneath this cruel sky
I'll give my last breath.
Whether it be oblivion,
Or just strong amnesia,
Please tell me the rabbit
Can help me forget.
