This House
The silverware's mismatched
The ceiling's overcast
This place is where I've passed
Many restless nights
Clothes cover the dining table
The television has no cable
I find myself no longer able
To stare at empty screens
The cabinets are in disarray
The lampshades have all bleached to gray
The walls are shrinking every day,
Compressing memory
The plastic blinds now gather dust
The shower heads show signs of rust
The china cabinet lacks for lust
Glassware foggy with neglect
Heavy doors block out all sound
Loneliness litters the ground
But you're never coming round
And my chest is boarded up
Secrets hide within this home
And our minds forever roam
To that for which we can't atone
This house is breathing sin
