Run!

Ya.... I don't care if anyone reads this. I'm writing it for myself now. Kind of. I guess. Well... me and like the five other people....

Allie woke up, slowly. Very slowly. At first, she tried to open her eyes, but they were like led and she fell back asleep. The second time she woke up, she realized she was on something soft and comfortable, and she fell back asleep. The third time however, she awoke to the sounds of hushed, frantic voices. She couldn't really make out what they were saying, her brain just translated their words into gibberish.  Annoyed, Allie opened her eyes, ready to yell at whoever had woken her up.

When she opened her eyes, she immediately wished she hadn't because,
a) her eyes were ruthlessly attacked by the bright lights, and,
b) she realized that the people in front of her were complete strangers.
One of them was a man. He was really big and had short, military style, black hair. The second one was a woman. She had her hair up in a braided crown bun type hair style. Her hair was the most brilliant red she had ever seen. The people both had weird, swirling markings on them. They looked like tattoos, but kind of- natural? She sat watching them for a few minutes trying to find a way to escape. They thankfully hadn't noticed that she was awake, they were still arguing. Allie looked around the room, she noticed that she was on a couch in her family room in the basement. She also noticed her brothers metal baseball bat. She was hesitant to use the bat even though it was a great weapon. The baseball bat was her brothers favorite because Andrew McCutchen signed it at the last game him and their father went to before he.... Allie quickly banished those thoughts from her mind. She decided that her brother wouldn't be mad, as she would be using it to save her life. Allie found it a little odd that these people hid her in her house, but she ignored it and prepared herself for the attack.

Allie watched and waited for a good time to attack. After a few minutes, she saw it. The woman said something, the words still sounded like gibberish to her, and turned around out of anger.

Allie pretended to be asleep for a few more moments, waiting for an opening to grab the bat. She saw her opening when the man bowed his head so that he could pinch the bridge of his nose. Both the man and the woman weren't looking, or paying attention to her now. With speed Allie didn't know she possessed, she leapt up from the couch and snatched the bat from its position by the couch's side table and took a few quick steps forward, preparing to swing the bat. She had been making sure to be as quiet as possible, so her attackers didn't notice her sneaking up on them. Allie decided that she would attack the woman because the man was huge!

After a few more quick, silent steps, Allie decided that she was close enough to her target. She lifted the bat and stared to swing it with all of her might, which was surprisingly a lot of force. She let out a small yell, kind of like a battle cry. She was mid swing when the two strangers noticed her, mainly because of her scream. Allie squeezed her eyes shut waiting for the impact when, fwamp!, she heard and felt the impact. She opened her eyes and froze. The man had caught it. He cought the freaking bat. How did he catch a metal baseball without making any sound. Not even a slight grunt. It wasn't possible!

Allie gasped when he ripped the bat from her hands. She stumbled backwards immediately regretting her decision. She let out a small yelp when she stumbled over the basements rug and fell. She crawled backwards as the man and woman started towards her.

She flinched when her back ran into the wall behind her. "Please don't hurt me!" She choked out. Terror lacing her words. She squeezed her eyes shut as they approached her.

"यह सिर्फ प्रभाव के लिए है." Allie heard the man speak, but his words were still complete gibberish. "आप देखेंगे इसका क्या अर्थ है।?"Now She was confused. Why was this man holding her hostage in her own basement and blabbering randomly?

Allie slowly put down her arm that she didn't realize she had risen and opened her eyes even slower. She looked at the man with fear in her eyes. That fear turned into confusion when she saw... worry on his face? Now she was really confused. The man softly repeated what he asked. "आप देखेंगे इसका क्या अर्थ है।?" She just stared at him.

"W-what?" She stuttered our quietly. The man glanced up at the woman and she nodded slightly. He took a breath and Allie flinched as he took another step forwards. He slowly started to crouch. Allie pressed herself up against the wall even more than she already was, if that was even possible.

"Why did you attack us little one?" The man asked her softly. Allie just gave him a blank look. The man, once again, glanced back up at the woman and she just crossed her arms. He looked back at Allie. "Are you alright?" The man reached a hand out towards her.

She screamed.

The man pulled his hand back and fell over in surprise. The woman just dropped her hands slightly. Allie used their reactions as an advantage. She sprinted. She was running on pure adrenaline and fear. The thought of how fast she was moving didn't even cross her mind.

She ran to the backdoor, it only had one lock while the front had two, and threw it open. She slammed it close behind her in the attempt to stall her attackers, if even for only a moment, and bolted across her backyard and into the wood behind her house.

After a few minutes, Allie changed her direction and bolted towards her neighbors house. She ignored the burning in her lungs and her increasingly tiring legs and kept running without looking back.

When she was about halfway to her neighbors house, she started to slow down. She was getting tired. Sure, she ran track, but not cross-country. She could only run so far so fast. After a few more moments, Allie felt relief start to bloom in her stomach. All she had to do was cross a clearing and a few more yards of woods before she arrived at her neighbors.

She probably should have payed more attention to her surroundings as she ran, but she was still too shaken up to care. Right as she entered the clearing, someone grabbed her. She was still moving pretty fast and was so surprised when someone grabbed her that they both fell over. Allie did more of a rough flop when she fell and hit her head off of the ground. Hard. The last thing she remember before darkness took her over was someone picking her up.
