Eight: Changes

Jack

"Whatcha lookin' at, bro?", I glanced up at Hiccup who just called me from my continous stare at Elsa through the glass.

I blinked, "Uh, nothing."

"You're looking at that new girl, are you?", he smirked. 

"I- I wasn't!", I shot back.

"Sure, Jack... Sure.", he laughed.

"I really wasn't!", I said. Hiccup's laughter became louder.

He stood up from his seat, "Okay, dude. By the way, Belle and the other peeps from the writing department are having a change of plans."

"What?", I shouted. "But we're like, almost done with half of the frames!"

"I know," he said. "But Belle said it was a very big change, so I guess you'd have to come to the meeting this afternoon."

I groaned, "Okay, I guess I could."

"Cool.", Hiccup smiled. "Gotta go now... Continue your sight-seeing"

"I wasn't!", I argued. He just laughed again and exited my office.

I rolled by eyes and looked back at Elsa... who's smile never did faulter.

Her eyes were like glowing orbs of snowflakes, which were the first things that stood out from her the minute we met. It had me staring at her... for like... the past twenty minutes.

Rapunzel entered my office again, "Heard about the change?"

"Yeah,", I said. "How are we going to finish the whole thing on time?"

"Don't worry,", she replied. "We got Elsa now, and I'm sure she could be a great help."

I did not reply... but I knew she could be a great help.

She was different... and I'm sure she's special.

Elsa

"And then BOOM!", Audrey's eyes popped out. "He hit the ground."

I giggled, "Did it hurt?"

"Heck yeah it did!", Once-ler laughed. His laugh was so sweet and I wish I could record it and play it on repeat all day.

Thia butt in, "Your face was trashed after that."

"So... you had surgery?", I asked.

Once-ler was shocked, "Heck no I didn't! Do you think this face was made out of plastic?" 

I giggled again... and then suddenly, Mr. Bitter Cold Frost came into the workplace. He looked very anxious and worried... I wonder what's up.

"So... they're changing the script.", he mentioned as calm as he could.

Audrey burst out, "What the hell are they thinking? We're down to only a few frames, and they just suddenly wanna scratch the entire thing?"

"I demand justice!", Thia stomped a foot to the floor.

"Now, guys...", I said as cool as a cucumber. "I know I haven't been around much to know the suffering of you guys, but I know we can work this out."

"Yeah, uh...", Jack looked over at my direction. "What Elsa said..."

He just kept staring at me for like... five seconds... and I just noticed how pretty his eyes were... as if there was a snowflake pattern born on it.

I blinked and looked away, and he did the same thing as well.

I tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear, and stared at him... well, through my peripheral vision, of course.

And... he was still staring at me...

I could imagine his eyes... his baby blue eyes...

I looked back at him and caught his eye for a nanosecond, and he looked down.

This is getting weird...

"So, Elsa are you up for it?", Thia suddenly asked me.

Was I gone off to dreamland again?

"Uh, ummm yeah.", I said...

"Mhm, daydreaming again, aren't we?", Once-ler laughed. 

Jack laughed along as well, and looked up at me for a second... with that smirk.

That smirk.

I gave him a small smile, and then he just suddenly straightened himself up and placed back his poker face on.

I don't know but I've got a strange feeling about this dude.

So mysterious.

Something that makes me remember of something...

But I don't know what... or who...

But, I know... I'm gonna find out his secret someday...

Jack

Elsa... there's just something about her that... well, bugs me.

She's too bubbly, too wild and smiles a lot. 

Her face has a relentless smile and she laughs at everything...

And somehow...

I like it.

Elsa approached me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "Don't worry. We can do it."

"Thanks...", I replied... with a faint smile.

She smiled back, and huddled over by the other people about the news.

"She's something, right Jack?", Once-ler came towards me, his gaze still on Elsa.

I pressed my lips into a thin line, "I guess she is."

"Mind if I", he started. "Try on her?"

I felt myself heating up... for no apparent reason. I looked back at Elsa.

"I... I don't see why not.", I shrugged.

"Thanks, man.", he smiled and patted my back. "Just wanted to know if you're okay with this in the office."

"No problem.", I gave him a small smile.

He gave me one last look and headed to Elsa.

I don't know, but that gave me a funny feeling... which I don't understand.

It's not like I'm jealous or anything, 'cause I know there's only one girl for me.

Only one Erin for me.

Elsa

"So, from what I heard,", Audrey began. "The evil princess is going to be the misunderstood girl now."

"Like Elsa, from Frozen?", I asked.

"Yeah! That's right... coincidentally, you both have the same names.", Audrey laughed.

"Well,", I said. "My mom got inspired about it."

"I'll be damn glad if you had a sister named Anna.", Once-ler smiled

"It's Annie, actually.", I corrected.

Thia nodded, "That's a cool family you got there."

"Pun intended", Once-ler chuckled.

We all laughed. I said, "So, Ember's gonna be a misunderstood fire princess?"

"Yup.", Audrey said. "Flamed is off to show in November, and it's the early start of January, so I guess we have some time."

"Bummer, we'd have to scratch that evil song sequence that I worked so hard for to make the lighting blend!", Thia groaned.

"We can do it, guys.", I cheered everyone up.

"Yeah!", we huddled all together and raised fists in the air.

I am so sorry for the late update... :< I tried juggling Begin Again and this story, and it didn't turn out well.

BTW, there's a whole lotta ships here... xD

Once-ler and Elsa, Erin and Jack... aaand, Jack and Elsa (but it's not fully developed yet tho... xD)
