Chapter 2

As I get closer to the fight, I can hear the yells of the other students. I can tell its two boys when I'm closer. One of them is one I've never seen around the school, but I've also only been here for a few weeks. I don't have a good view on him considering he's on top of the other boy.

The chants out loud now and many teachers try to separate the boys, but they just get pushed away. I roll my eyes when the other boy in the fight starts throwing out profanities when he gets punched in the nose.

I try to get through the crowd so I can go to my class, unlike the other immature students, but I just keep getting pushed back farther from where I'm trying to be.

A sudden rage fills me and I count to ten before I start throwing hands. Before I could get to ten, all of a sudden, all the cars behind the crowd started going off in high pitches. Like all of them are being broken into, and somehow, I knew it was because of me.

I turned around to see if the fight was over, and sure enough it was, and the new boy was staring directly at me. Chills were sent through my body, as his icy stare was aimed at me, as if the boy he was fighting didn't exist anymore.

Now that he is looking at me directly, I can see what he actually looks like. His sun kissed blonde hair hangs over his forehead, making him look intimidating, which he already did because of the fight, but his appearance makes it more visible.

He stands tall, maybe 6'2 or 6'3. He's slim but you can see his muscle that outlines his body through his loose shirt. His eyes are a deep blue, almost like the ocean. His eyes send more chills down my body, making me look deeper into them like I'm trying to learn his life story.

Turning away from him, I make my way to the school doors, now that the crowd has mostly gone away. I wonder what they were fighting for. I'll probably find out before the day ends, for everything gets around pretty fast.

Hurrying to my locker to meet Mia, I almost ran into someone but I didn't look back to see who it was, but some nasty words were said in my direction. I wave them off and by the time my locker comes into view, I can already see Mia and her twin brother Mason standing there.

"Hey! I'm sorry. I tried to get here faster but there was a fight and no one would let me through, then the cars all went off at the same time." I rush out and Mia laughs.

"Yeah, I know. Apparently, there's a new kid, and Jason wasn't to happy about it because his girl was flirting with him or something dumb like that." I roll my eyes. It's always something stupid when it comes to boys fighting.

"Are you still coming with us to the mall for your surprise birthday present?" Mason asks me and I laugh.

"Of course, silly. Why wouldn't I?" I say sarcastically and it's his turn to roll his eyes at me.

"Well, I'm going to class losers." Mia tells us and I laugh.

"You're the biggest one here dude." I tell her and she flips her hair over her shoulders.

"I'm a cool loser though, you guys are lame. By the way, I love your outfit today Adina It looks really good on you." She blows me a kiss and I laugh again. Mia is the exact opposite of me. Where I'm the more comfortable style, she is the girly girl. Always wearing makeup and a fancy outfit with heels. It all looks cute on her, but we are complete opposites.

Mason follows here since they have the same class and I head in the opposite direction. My first class is AP English, which I love. English has always been the easiest class for me.

Looking down at my phone to see what Mia sent me, I laugh quietly. That soon ended when I ran into a door, or what I thought was a door. As I'm falling to the floor, I get a look at what I hit and chills immediately go down my spine, making goose bumps pop up over my skin.

His ice blue eyes stare into mine and I watch him smirk at me. I roll my eyes and raise my eyebrows.

"Are you going to offer your help, or let me sit here on this dirty ass ground?" I ask him and his smirk disappears.

"You're the one who ran into me because you were too busy looking at your phone than paying attention to where you were going." I slightly groan when I get off the ground. By myself may I add.

"What's your name?" He asks me and I look at him. Ugh, his eyes. Why does he have to look at me the way he does. It doesn't help that I'm only as tall as his chest.

"Adina. What's yours?" I ask him back and a flash of emotion went through his eyes, but I couldn't figure out which one it was because it was gone in an instant.

"Ace." And at that, he turns around, and almost runs away. I stare after him, wondering to myself why he ran away so quickly when I told him my name. He sure is really strange, and I want to know why he ran the way he did.

Today is going to be one hell of a day.

At lunch I find my normal seat with Mia and Mason. That's pretty much all our friend group consists of. Mia, Mason, and me. We do everything together, it's insane how much time we spend together and rarely ever have any fights.

Although, when I first arrived at this school, I tried my hardest to not make any friends, just in case another disaster happens. One almost did the other day. One of my classmates stuck aluminum foil in the microwave and it started smoking. When I went over there to open it and get it out, the boy tried to blame it on me, and because of my history with fires, the school yet again blamed it on me. They called Amelia, and she handled it and she was the only one besides Miles who believed it wasn't me.

"Adina! Snap out of it!" Mia yells and I jump slightly, bringing me out of my train of thought.

"Sorry, I have a lot on my mind right now. You know the new kid? Well, I accidently ran into him in the hall before the first hour, and when I told him my name, he literally ran away from me, it was insane. I want to figure out why he ran, I may confront him after lunch or something." I tell Mia and Mason.

Mason gasps like something amazing just happened and I frown.

"Why did you just gasp like you saw Tony Stark?" I ask him and he coughs. I already know something is up with him because he never has random outbursts like that. It could be one of two things.

Either Mandy is behind me, or it's the new kid Ace. I think I already know who it is but the world is full of many surprises.

I slowly turn my head so I could see who's standing behind me and sure enough, Mandy is there with a smirk.

"Maybe he ran because you're a freak." She says and the group of her minions laugh behind her like it was the funniest thing in the world.

"Hello to you bitch. How's your day been?" I ask her in a nice high-pitched voice to mock her. Which just makes her frown and huff. I giggle internally.

"I want you to stay away from Ace, he's mine." She says with a smile that could scare anything away. I cringe hard and laugh a little.

"That's fine, you can have him. I don't want him." I blow a kiss at her and turn back around to face Mia and Mason.

Right when I open my mouth, something cold goes down my back and face, covering my head in whatever the bitch poured.

I close my hands into a fist, and try to stay calm. I count to ten, but it's hard to focus when everyone is laughing at you. My temper has never been good, and she just passes my peak.

I feel my ears ringing and next thing I know, a big gust of wind fills the room, making goosebumps show up on my skin. The doors slam shut, and I hear something very loud fill the room. Probably one of the microwaves.

Why do these things always happen when I get mad? I don't understand and no one else does either.

Then, someone touched me and everything went back to normal. I look up and there he is, Ace. He's standing next to me, with his hand on my upper arm. I feel my legs go wear and I get extremely light headed. I fall in his arms, and next thing I know I black out.
