Chapter 2
I don't really know the position of the Archangels. These are just a guess.

Immanuel's POV:
Ring...
Ring...
Ring...
I groaned, offing the alarm on my Hphone ( Heaven phone) and pulled myself up. Then I remembered, today is the day when I get my first mission!
I jumped out of bed, rushing to the bathroom to get ready. I slid my wings back into my back and put on the mandatory uniform ( which is a T-shirt with a jacket and trousers all made from a special type of leather that does not tear easily. There are many sheaths and pockets to put swords,daggers, a few steles and throwing knives) and slid my trusty double edged sword, Victorious, into a sheath. I also armed myself with four Seraph Blades ( they are called Seraph Blades 'cause an Angel named Seraph founded them and it has been the essential sword to use ever since), ten daggers, six steles and a couple dozen throwing knives, sheathing them into the various sheaths and pockets, hiding a few throwing knives into a few hiding spaces.
Sliding my wings back to their original position, I walked to HQ, whistling On My Own by Ashes Remain. (A/N, Ashes Remain is a Christian band and their music is the best. Try listening to On My Own and Right Here. Very Inspirational)
When I got to HQ, I was greeted by Gabriel, Commander Michael's second in command, at the entrance. "Welcome. First mission, exciting right?" Gabriel asked, smiling widely. "Very exciting! This is my dream job and I won't fail Father or Commander Michael." I stated in one breath, my excitement poorly contained. "Good luck, Immanuel. First time's always the hardest." Gabriel chuckled at my excitement, his gold eyes twinkling. "Ok, sir, thank you for your advice." I walked into the building, my eyes widening when I saw the architecture. The building was beautiful, paintings of the angels decorating here and there and a giant statue of Father placed in the middle. I walked to the meeting room, ready to receive my assignment.
I sat in an open seat, a few already taken from the early Angels. Since I have time to spare, I whipped out my Hphone and went on to Angelbook to see what's new in the human world and Heaven. Turns out I'm the headlines. Stated right there," New Guardian Angel Decreed". Just then a flood of Angels rushed into the meeting room. They each grab a Caramel Macchiato from the coffee machine. Yes, we do have a coffee machine that spouts out Starbucks. Just then, Sir Raphael walked in. The meeting room immediately quiet down as we anticipate our assignments. "Alright, guardians. We have a new recruit. Immanuel, come forth." Raphael spoke, his fingers curling in and out, beckoning me forward. I hesitantly stood and made my way forward, my wings fluttering. "This is Immanuel, I want you all to treat him like an equal. No shunning because he is new. Welcome to the team, Immanuel." Raphael spoke in a kind voice.
"Ok, assignments. Aaron, Aana, Adonai. You three are to guard the Andes Triplets." Raphael began to read out the assignments to the specific people. After a while, since I'm the newest, I'm last to go. "Ok, Immanuel, Solo mission. You are guarding the most important of all humans," he said. What?! My first mission and already entrusted with a job so important? "Sir, with all due respect, why am I entrusted with a job so important? I am just a beginner." I tried convincing him to give the job to another more experienced Angel. Raphael spoke in a gentle but firm tone," We want to give you a chance to get a job worthy of you. You are the only human-turned-Angel in this business, and since you were human before, you can blend in better with the people. Thus, most fit to guard this human," he patiently explained to me. "Oh." I said, internally kicking myself for my oh- so- smart answer. Raphael chuckled, walking out of the room. "Come along. For this mission, I am to give you a personal briefing." He smiled, beckoning me to hurry up. I followed him to the meeting room,my eyes roving the pictures on the wall.
"Ok, sit down." Raphael pointed to a coach as he started up the projector. "Ok, you will be guarding a girl named Iscah Adli, age 16, birth date 9th September 2000." Raphael started off with the basics. "Woah, why is she named Iscah? It is a very peculiar name, barely even used." I asked, puzzled. "Iscah is the olden version of Jessica, which means Blessed One. Her parents are more towards the Old Testament so..." Raphael trailed off. He then tell me of the importance of this girl. She has a special type of blood that connects to heaven. Heaven relies on her for prosperity and survival, which is why Lucifer is out to get her so she could provide the prosperity needed to overthrow heaven. They need someone who understands humans to guard her. That's where I come in.
{Time skip to after the briefing}
"Are you ready for your first mission?"
"I'm ready."
