Sad Parrot
The parrot sits and plucks his feathers
depressed, can't escape its tethers
known for his intelligence
he can't stand the sound of silence
bad company is better than none
learning for him is fun
mimicing everything
not what he wants to sing
but sing he must
for owners lust
to earn his daily bread
loses his voice, doesn't get fed
people come to view
some, his appearance, they rue
he has himself bald
if he had a flame, he'd scald
their oohs and aahs, he finds confusing
Why do they find him amusing?
A sad song he sings
the death bell he rings
he wants to be free
your watching misery
