Chapter 8 - Outside Again
Pamela's mom agreed to watch Pamela's brother whilst everyone else came to help me fight off the zherti.
"You'll hold down the fort, right?" Zachary's father asked his sister.
"Don't you kids worry," Pamela's mother assured us, "This house is very strong. Now, you run along and try not to hurt yourselves. And if you do, remember to use the sword."
"Right," Pamela agreed.
"We'll save the world as soon as we can," I added.
Mr White bellowed, "Ha ha! Yes, we'll be back as soon as that one slays the beast."
"Bye Aunt June!" Zachary called.
"Goodbye!" she called back, waving the baby's arm.
Everyone said their goodbyes and we went towards the door. I lead in the front, my sword raised above my head. The three humans were alert, right behind me, and Origami flapped and fluttered around anxiously. I thought within myself about what she had said about my sister.
"She is kijo." It rang around in my head with a mysterious air. I shook slightly, and tried to focus on getting through the zherti. I let go of the sword with one hand and touched the handle, looking back at everyone else. They were counting on me. They nodded their heads, and I twisted my hand, pushing on the surface.
And we were out.
We managed to sneak past the alien monsters for a few seconds, but before long, they noticed us and came after us. Mr. White swung his fists, Pamela kicked and flipped gracefully and mercilessly, and Zack just tried to avoid them altogether.
Pamela swirled her foot over and through one. It went limp and she held it inbetween her fists, shoving her foot and one that tried to creep up behind her.
"Elizabeth!" she called me. I came and slashed the two she had defeated with the flaming sword. Mr. White punched three at once, knocking them to the ground.
"Keep moving!" he yelled. Zachary leapt to and fro, following his instructions, whilst Pamela and I fought off more zherti behind them. This was much less tiring than fighting alone.
"This way!" the butterfly called, flapping forwards, "The zherti are coming from here! We need to locate their source, which is where Zhormii will be!"
Pamela groaned, throwing off another of the creatures, and pressed forward, pulling her cousin with her, who was weakly trying to defend himself. He squeezed his eyes, flailing his arms.
"Why did we bring you?!" Pamela complained.
"We're too far to turn back and drop him off, Pamela; he can make himself useful!" her uncle roared.
Pamela sighed and dropped her cousin. Zachary opened his eyes and looked around, seemingly embarrassed, and so tried to make up for his dead weight.
"What if we were to climb on the roofs?!" He suggested, "I don't think the zombies can reach those!"
"Zherti!" Origami corrected.
"And how would we?!" I retorted. Was he playing the fool?
The boy smiled weirdly at me and ran off.
"Where are you going??!!!" his father yelled.
But he didn't seem to hear.

AN ~ I know, I know, I'm a very bad person for only focusing on my art book and not updating this one in FOREVER. I'm sorry, but now you have chapter 8! I'll try to be better and update more frequently.
