Chapter Twenty One
I sit cross-legged on my bed, anxiously watching the red numbers on the TV screen get larger and larger. 8:00. 8:30. 9:00.
When are they going to get here? I know they said not to worry, but it goes against every fiber of my being. I. Am. A. Planner. That's who I am. They can't just tell me to throw myself out the window.
My eyes flutter shut, but I force them back open. I can't fall asleep yet. It'd be so rude to be snoring when the group comes in. But my eyelids are so heavy. Maybe just for a moment. I can just rest my eyes for a second. They won't mind, will they? I yawn and let my eyes flicker into darkness, leaving the numbers of the clock imprinted inside the lids. 10:17.
The door swings open, hitting the wall behind it with such force that I wake up instantly. I jerk upwards, hurriedly wiping all the traces of sleep from my face. I hope there aren't any pillow lines. I glance at the back of my bed. Or, I guess in this case, headboard lines.
Zoe pops her head in, then Sean's head appears above hers, and Will's above his. I laugh. The scene is something out of a comedy.
"We're here!" They sing in unison. This must have been planned, because there's no way they could be that in sync. They start giving each other fist bumps and smiles and I realize that it was planned.
Zoe struts into the room, her neon pink pajamas nearly burning a hole in my retinas. "Are you ready, Kyla!" Her voice is so eager, and honestly, it's contagious.
I give her a small grin. "Yup! I did what you said and planned nothing."
She surveys the room, checking for evidence of a plan. While she does this the guys come sit on my bed, dressed in matching onesies. Will is peanut butter and Sean is jelly.
"Oh my gosh you guys. Can you be any cuter?" I squeal. If they were in a book I would be shipping them so hard right now. Wait. Who said shipping was only for books? Nevermind. I'm shipping them really hard right now.
Sean slings an arm around Will's shoulder, and snuggles up against his side. I'm pretty sure my eyes bug out from the cuteness overload.
I see why Zo might have gotten irritated with such a display of couple-ness, though. I'm pretty sure this level is only accepted by obsessive fangirls - ie, me - and the occasional creep. I'm not even counting fanboys because they're such an endangered species at this point.
Zoe comes out of the bathroom, with a satisfied expression on her face. "I'm proud of you Kyla. Not one hint of a plan to be found anywhere in this room. I didn't know you had it in you."
I don't, I want to say. I was only able to do it because I fell asleep for - I glance at the clock - an hour.
Zoe grabs a bag from outside the door and I feel my mouth start to water. The bag is filled to the brim with junk food, the kind that has no nutritional value and doesn't fill you up at all. Also known as my favorite stuff in the world.
She rummages around in it for a second before coming up with two pints of ice cream and spoons. She puts one of each down on the floor and tosses the other set to me. "Rocky road. I didn't know which flavor you liked so I got the most stereotypical flavor I could find."
I place a hand on my hip. "So you got me a type of chocolate ice cream because of what?" I accuse, staring her down.
Zoe rolls her eyes. "Because of nothing silly. It's the ice cream that literally all the girls in books eat while watching chick flicks."
"Hmm. Well who am I to say that the actions of characters is not the best way to do anything? I'd have to relinquish my fangirl card, and there is no way on this Earth that I'm wasting all that hard work."
Zoe ignores me and starts eating her ice cream. I look back at the boys and instantly jerk my head back towards the tv, my face flaming. They're...um...very interested in each other's faces.
Zoe has no sense of modesty though and turns around to stare right at them. "Boys! Stop sucking face and pick what movie we're going to watch."
They break apart with an audible pop. Will digs in the pocket of his onesie before tossing a DVD towards Zoe. "Does that work for you, oh ruler of when I kiss my boyfriend?" Zoe sticks her tongue out at him, inspecting the movie.
"It should work. You can resume."
They do.
The rest of the night doesn't go anything close to what I thought was going to happen. We watch all of the High School Musical movies, the group dancing and singing along with the choreography for all the songs.
We play truth or dare, that quickly turns into truth or super truth.
Basically, it's the most fun I've ever had. At 4:00 am, I kick everyone out and collapse on my bed. By the time my head hits the pillow, I'm out for the night. Hopefully I'm not too tired tomorrow for the tournament.
A/N: Okay guys. I know this chapter sucks, but that's because this is the last chapter that I'm going to be publishing for a while. I went back through my story and realized that it sucks so far (This is the start of where it begins to suck).
I'm going to be starting to rewrite it, because I really can't publish anymore chapters that are this poorly written, and this short.
I will be writing as fast as I can. Maybe I'll get some essence from @WhispersConfusions so that I can start updating this story again.
I'm really sorry, and I hope that I can come up with a good story for you guys.
