Dakota's POV

"We don't know each other, got it?" By older brother has a steely look in his eyes as we get off the school bus. He goes his own way, and I go mine.

I see a familiar head of brown hair rush into the girl's restroom, and push down the pain that surfaces. I thought Lily and I would be friends forever, but I guess forever is a long time.

"Dakota!" Mashall (pronounced like Michelle) screams as she tackles me. At least she is true to me.

"Hey", I smile, turning away from where Lily went. She was talking about me behind my back, Mashall told me all about it. Nobody needs that in their life. I have enough to deal with.

"How'd you do on that homework?" An upperclassman that everybody calls Goose, a really weird nickname right? We have one of the tech classes together.

"Fine." I reply. There was a short time there Goose and I were sort of a thing. It was really he was interested in me and I was just there with friends.

I notice Mashall is practically drooling over Goose, even batting her eyelashes at him, and crooning on about something. I take that as my chance to escape.

I go up stairs and instantly wish that I hadn't came the way I did. A group of people I dread to see are standing like wolves just waiting for the perfect moment to attack. I am their prey. "Why don't you go kill yourself!" One jeers at me, making it more of a statement than a question, earning a high five from his buddy, I turn my head and walk faster.

But not before another grabs my arm, jerking me in their direction. "You are wasted air." He shoves me down the hall. I trip, banging my head into a locker, but quickly stand up and run to the nearest bathroom.

I hear someone sobbing in one of the stalls, and momentarily feel sorry for her. But then again I guess we all have to deal with our problems by ourselves. No one else cares enough.

I hate this.
