~A few weeks later~

Your POV

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

Groaning, I reach out and press the snooze button. I slowly sit up and rub my eyes, then look around. By my bedroom door is a suitcase. It takes a while for me to realise why it's there, then it clicks. I leap out of bed and run to my cupboard.

I couldn't believe it. I was going to Australia! And, as a bonus, with my brother-like, smol bean friend and my best friend who also happens to be the love of my life.

I pick out some comfortable clothes for the twenty-four hour flight and rush down the stairs for a quick breakfast. After breakfast, I move everything down to the front door and wait. I had packed everything and cleaned the flat last night, so there was nothing that needed to be done.

I do a few last minute look around the house, trying to spot any mess that needs to be cleaned. Once I've done that, I plonk onto the couch and watch TV.

~Few hours later~

I check the time. It's about 4:30pm. Almost time to get to the airport. I decide to call Dan to see if they're ready.

I go to my contacts list and call Dan.

Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring.

It rings for a bit then goes straight to voicemail. Damn.

I call Phil instead.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Hello?"

"Phil? Are you boys ready? And why didn't Dan answer his phone?"

I hear a sigh from the other end of the phone. "Dan is recording a video."

I chuckle a bit. "Seriously? We're going to miss our flight!"

"I hope not." Another sigh.

There's a bit of an awkward silence and I decide that now should be the time to end the call.

"Well, I'll see you boys soon. Bye, Phil."

"Bye, Y/N." And he hangs up.

~Time skip- 5:10pm~

I've gotten impatient. We were supposed to leave ten minutes ago. I grab all my luggage, keys, wallet, ecetera, and walk down the stairs and out my front door, making sure to lock it.

I knock on Dan and Phil's door and am greeted by a distressed Phil when it opens.

"Dan is still recording."

"Are you serious?" I must admit, even though I love the basted, I'm getting really annoyed with Dan.

Phil and I sit in the living room for a while, impatiently waiting for our friend to finish recording that last minute video.

Soon, we hear the son of a bitch running around the flat in a panic.

"Dan, we're going to miss our flight!" Phil shouts.

"I'm packing now!" I groan and roll my eyes. Typical Dan.

He rushes into the bathroom. Phil and I look at each other and sigh.

We start talking about random things when we hear a shout of pain coming from the bathroom.

"Dan, are you okay?" Phil shouts, sounding concerned.

We hear a muffled 'one minute' and the sound of water running out of a tap. Once the tap turns off, Dan walks out of the bathroom.

He looks like he's in pain and his left eye is closed.

He walks over next to me and puts on a half-fake half-real smile. "Are you sure you're okay?" I whisper. He nods in response.

"Come on, love birds! We need to get there!" Blushing I grab my stuff and begin to walk to the door.

"Dan, do you really need that muffin?"

"Yes I do."

I chuckle at the boys bickering like an old couple. I walk out of the flat and wait for them.

When they both catch up, we rush out to the cab. We put our luggage into the boot and climb in. Dan sits on the side covering his eye, Phil sits on the other side and I sit in between the two boys. During the drive, Dan keeps his hand against his face and Phil and I just look at him strangely.

"He's probably just face palming over a past incident," Phil whispers into my ear. I nod in agreement.

The ride is surprisingly quiet. There's never silence between the three of us. It's probably because Dan is acting like a weirdo and Phil and I don't know what else to talk about besides Dan's strange nature.

The cab finally pulls up to the airport. We climb out of the taxi, grab our luggage, pay the driver and sprint through the large crowd, bumping into everyone. Being in a hurry seems to distract me from my fear of crowds, because we get to the waiting area without me screaming profanities at everyone.

We sit down. Dan still has his eye closed. Phil is starting to calm down. And I'm starving.

My stomach growls. Loudly. I squirm in my seat, knowing people heard me. My cheeks heat up.

"Y/N?" I look over at Phil. "That wasn't you, was it?"

Crap. "Ummm..." I look around the airport and find a snack bar close by. "I'm going to quickly get something to eat." I stand up and begin to make my way over to the snack bar, Phil's laughter fading the closer I get.

There's quite a long line. But I need food, dammit!

Guess I'll have to wait a bit...

Dan's POV

As Y/N leaves, I go through my bag and pull out my squashed muffin. I decide now is the time to open my eye.

It hurts. So damn much. I do not recommend spraying deodorant into your eye.

The pain is unbearable and I can't see. I look over at Phil who is just starting to calm down.

"I can't see out of my left eye," I almost whisper.

Phil turns and looks at me, confused. "What?"

Oh crap. "I sprayed deodorant into my eyeball before we left."

"What?!" Phil begins to shake his head and looks at me like, 'what a complete idiot, why do I even?' but all I see is a white cloud.

I begin to panic. What if I'm permanently blind? I'll have to tell everyone I did it by spraying deodorant in my eye! I'll never see Y/N's beautiful face properly again...

"Go to the bathroom and rinse it out while I search what you should do," Phil orders me.

I stand up and push through the crowd.

Your POV

"Thank you, have a nice day," I take my bottle of water and slice of cake and make my way back to the seats.

I expect to see Dan eating his muffin and Phil playing something on his phone but I don't. Phil sits alone looking worried, phone in hand.

"What's up? Where's Dan?" I ask as I sit down.

Phil looks up from his phone. "Dan went to the bathroom to wash his eye."

I look at him confused. "Why?"

Phil sighs. "He sprayed deodorant in it before we left."

I facepalm. Of course he did.

"What a spork," I say.

"Who's a spork?" I turn around to see Dan.

"The one who sprayed deodorant in his eye," Dan blushes, still looking in pain. "Are you okay?"

He shakes his head as he sits down. "It burns." He starts rocking back and forth, crying.

"Dan, here," Phil passes Dan his phone. As Dan talks to whoever it is, I watch him with concern.

He hangs up and stands. "Where are you going?" I question him.

"To the pharmacy to get some eye drops." I nod.

"Do you need me to come with you?"

"No," he shakes his head. "You stay here."

He walks away. When he comes back, he has almost every eye product you could have.

He lays across the bench as Phil tends to his eye.

"So, what was the fuss about on the phone?"

Dan chuckles which causes Phil to scold him for moving. "Just a lovely lady called Doris who had no clue what I was saying and was no help whatsoever. And apparently the one thing I shouldn't have done was rub my eye."

I laugh. "And I'm guessing you did?"

"Yup."

Just as Phil finishes, our flight is called. We get all of our stuff and walk to our gate. We're about to board when we hear someone shout out to the boys.

"Dan! Phil!" We turn to see a young fan. He nervously makes his way over. "Can I have a photo with you?" I look at them, mainly Dan. They look worried. But of course they weren't going to turn down a fan.

They huddle around the boy. Dan had is eye closed as if he's winking. They snap the photo, say goodbye and we're off.

We board the plane, find our seats and sit down. Dan is by the window, Phil has the aisle seat and I'm sat in the middle. Lucky for Phil, we're not tea people. ;)

I look over to Dan. He's looking through his bag.

"Is your eye okay?" He nods and continues to rummage through his bag. He freezes then pulls his hand out, revealing his squashed pistachio muffin. I smile at his relieved face.

"Sir, would you like me to get rid of that?" We turn to see an air hostess looking at the crumby muffin.

Phil leans over and whispers, "Come on, Dan. You don't really want to eat that do you?"

"Yes," Dan mutters with a single tear falling down his cheek. Phil shakes his head as Dan eats his muffin, savouring every bite. He's so adorable.

"Want a bite?" I look to see a muffin in my face. I look up at Dan's gorgeous brown eyes.

"Are you sure?" He nods so I take a small bite. It's so good. I accidentally let out a moan. (no! Bad reader!)

"What are you two even doing?" I turn to see Phil looking at us with a horrified expression.

I turn and look at Dan and as soon as we make eye contact, we burst into laughter, earning a few annoyed glances from other passengers.

When we calm down a bit, we look over at Phil who is shaking his head.

"You two are weirdos."

"Oh yeah, haha," I say sarcastically.

"What?" Phil actually looks confused.

I hold back a few giggles. "Nothing!"

~Time skip~

"Please, just watch it with me. Just once," Dan pleads.

"Do I have to?"

Dan looks at me shocked. "Yes you have to. How have you even kept yourself High School Musical-less for so long?" I shrug. "You're watching it. Argument over."

He pulls out his laptop and some earphones, plugging them in. He puts in one earphone and gives me the other. Sighing, I take it and put it in my ear. He puts on the movie and we begin to watch.

~Time skip~

I look over at Dan who is entranced by the movie. How did I ever get this lucky? I start to think about what my life would be like if my parents listened to my complaints and just ordered some pizza so we could sit down and have a/an F/TV/S marathon instead of going to the fancy resturaunt.

Would I have really cared to talk to Dan that day he bumped into me? Would I even care if I lived across the hall from Dan an Phil? Would Dan have cared?

Suddenly, Dan notices I have been staring and turns to look at me. We make quick eye contact then I turn back to the laptop screen, blushing like crazy. I feel his eyes on me. Finally, out of the corner of my eye, I see him turn his head back.

As soon as my heart rate just starts to calm the fuck down a bit, I feel Dan's hand slowly take mine, intertwining our fingers. My heart begins to race again, butterflies flutter like crazy and my cheeks heat up.

Calm down. Calm down.

I try to make it look as if I'm really cool about the whole situation and rest my head on his shoulder. But I am not cool about it at all. Even my own actions make me blush.

I manage to get through the movie like that, though.

"Number two?" Dan whispers. I look up at him and groan.

"There's more?" He chuckles.

"I'm guessing you didn't like it."

Maybe. "No." He rolls his eyes and puts the second one on.

~Time skip~

After watching all the High School Musical movies, I end up falling asleep on Dan's shoulder. It's not until we have about thirty minutes left before landing when I wake up.

"Well, hello flight companion who was supposed to keep me entertained for twenty-four hours. How was your sleep?" I look up to see Dan.

"Sorry," I giggle. "It was good, thanks."

He scoffs but can't help his lips forming a smile. I go to grab my bottle of water but I can't move my hand. I look to see that Dan's hand still has a firm grip on it and blush. Dan notices and looks down.

"Oh, um, s-sorry about that," his cheeks turn red and he let's go. I feel a pang of disappointment as my hand goes cold.

I reach out and grab my water, taking a few sips. As I put it down, I start to sing quietly.

"We're soarin',

Flyin',

There's not a star in heaven that we can't reach."

"Liar." I jump and turn to see Dan grinning like an idiot. I stick my tongue out at him.

"You two," I turn around to see Phil smirking at us. I shake my head.

Oh, Phil. I know what you're hoping for. I hope it happens too.

~Time skip~

"Reservation for Howell," the lady checks her computer and nods. She hands Dan a key and grins at the two of us.

We walk to the elevator with Phil and go in.

"Stop!" The boys look at me confused, and Dan, who is just about to press the button, pulls his hand back.

"What's wrong? Would you rather take the stairs?"

"No," I grin. "I want to press the button." The boys look at me and roll their eyes as Dan moves out of the way. I press the button with the number '6'.

"You're such a kid, Y/N," Dan chuckles.

Ding. The elevator doors open and we walk out. We walk along the hall and reach our rooms. I'm sharing a room with Dan and Phil is next door.

Dan unlocks the door and we walk in. I look around the room.

It's small, but it would do. Besides the bathroom, everything was in one room about the size of my living room. There was a kitchen, a dining table for two, a small couch in front of a huge, flat screen TV, the usual hotel setup. But there's a slight problem. (or is there? ;))

There is only one bed!

"Dan?" Dan rushes out of the bathroom and into the, well, everything room.

"Yeah?"

I point at the bed. "Was there some kind of mistake?" I look at him. His cheeks turn a bright red.

"Oh, um, I forgot to mention that," he mumbles. "You're okay sharing a bed, aren't you? It was the cheaper option," he scratches the back of his neck. I'm a bit a shocked. Sure, I've shared a bed with him before. But that's different. Isn't it?

I mean, what was the reception lady thinking? Two young people, a hotel room, one bed- doesn't seem really 'friendly'. Is that what that smile was?

"Y/N?" I snap out of thought and look up at Dan. "We're going out for dinner tonight. You should probably change. Not that you don't look nice in what you're wearing now!" I chuckle.

I nod and grab some clothes out of my suitcase. Of course I don't look good in sweaty tights and baggy t-shirt.

I grab one of the two folded towels on the end of the bed and walk into the bathroom.

As the water runs, I catch a glimpse of faint scars on my wrist. God, my life was miserable when I made those. It's amazing how much Dan and Phil have impacted on my life since then. I shake it off and get into the shower.

~Ten minutes later~

I hop out and wrap the white, fluffy towel around my dripping body. I dry myself and change.

I look in the mirror. I wear black, ripped skinny jeans, a plain black tank top with a red flannel over top. I straighten my hair and pull it back into a half-ponytail. I try to make myself look at least a little bit decent with some make-up, but give up. I'm ugly either way. I put on some jewellery, deodorant (making sure not to spray it in my eye) and perfume and walk out.

Dan sits on the couch with his laptop, scrolling through Tumblr.

"I'm guessing you're ready?" Dan looks up, a light blush tinting his cheeks. I freeze. "So you tell me to change, but you don't change yourself?" He shrugs and I shake my head. "The ladies are going to be all over you and your sweaty scent, Howell."

He mumbles something. "What was that?" His cheeks go from rosy pink to tomato red very quick.

"Uh, I said, of course they are," he nervously replies. Although I don't believe him, I nod.

Dan's POV

"The ladies are going to be all over you and your sweaty scent, Howell," she grins.

"I only want you all over me," I mutter. I was talking to myself, okay? I pray that she didn't notice.

"What was that?" My cheeks burn and I mentally face palm. Idiot!

"Uh, I said, of course they are." She nods, unconvinced. There's an awkward silence as I study her. She looks gorgeous. Just one problem. "Why are you wearing make-up?"

She looks down at the floor. "Because I look at least a little bit decent with it," she mutters. I stand up and walk over to her. I reach my hand out and gently lift her chin. I look into her eyes. (cheesy af)

"You look beautiful. With or without make-up. Don't give a shit what others think of you. Because I think you're perfect in every way," I say softly. A grin forms on her lips and I find myself slowly leaning in. Her eyes close, preparing for what happens next. We're so close that I can feel her breath on my lips. I'm about to close the gap, but then-

Knock knock!

I freeze. Sighing, I let go of her chin, step away and make my way to the door. I open it feeling annoyed. Phil stands in the hallway, a large grin on his face.

"What do you want, Phil?" I scowl.

"To go eat. Did I interrupt something?" He smirks.

"No, you're fine, Phil," a soft voice says behind me. I turn to see Y/N, purse in hand, shoes on, with a sweet smile on her face. She turns to me. "It was nothing."

My heart drops. Nothing? Nothing?! We almost kissed! We were literally only millimetres away from it! How do you call that nothing?!

"Okay, then," Phil chirps. "Lets go eat our first upside-down meal!"

~Time skip~

We stumble back to our hotel rooms, jet lag finally starting to kick in. It hit Y/N the hardest. She fell asleep in the taxi, leaving me to carry her back to the room.

We get to the room when I remember something. My key is in my back pocket. I'm holding onto Y/N, bridal style. I can't just put her down. And I don't want to hand her to Phil.

"Phil."

"Yes," he yawns, obviously wanting to get into his room and sleep without having to deal with my problems.

"My key is in my back pocket and I... I can't grab it." I look over to Phil who is giving me a look mixed between, 'Seriously? I'm done with you?' and, 'You want me to put my hand in your back pocket? Ummmm.' I sigh. "I know, I know, awkward, but I kind of need to get inside.

"Why don't you just pass Y/N over to me?"

"Because I don't want to wake her." And I don't want to ever let go of her.

He groans. "Why didn't you just give me the key at the taxi?" he complains as he reaches into my back pocket and grabs my hotel key, putting it in the key hole and turning it, opening the door.

"Because I didn't think of it then." He just rolls his eyes and turns around.

"Goodnight, Daniel."

"Goodnight, Philip." I walk into the room and slip off my shoes, making sure to close the door behind me. I walk over to the couch and lay Y/N down then pull the blankets back on the bed. I pick up Y/N and carry her over to the bed, carefully lay her down, taking her shoes and jewellery off and pulling the blanket over her. I crawl in on the other side and look over to Y/N.

It's risky, but fuck it. I scoot over and wrap my arms around her as I drift off to sleep.

A/N

Finally! I have no clue how long I've been writing this. Probably since TATINOF XD

There's a reason why I haven't updated this in a while. 1) because I just couldn't have been bothered to, and 2) when I did get back to it, I took a bit of a break (again) and then Dan uploaded a certain video, making me have to start the chapter all. Over. Again.

I had half the chapter done and then Dan posted, "I nearly blinded myself." Ffs, Daniel!

But it's here now. You're welcome.
