Her black, black hair is so very different from the crimson bright red of Faith's hair but at the same time it has the same elegance and shine.
Her eyes are blue pools of deep oceans and so very different from the chocolate brown depths of his cru—love.
But, he thinks forlornly, maybe it is this difference that makes it easier for him to talk with her and hang out with her as opposed to Lucy and Will who have taken to double dating with Faith and her nee boyfriend.
A small stab to his heart.
He is too prideful to bear the pitiful looks that Lucy, and sometimes even Will—his idiotic, moronic, dense partner-in-crime, brother-in-arms—had taken to shooting him.
At least with Julia, with her pitch black hair and ocean blue eyes, he can stop forcing himself to smile. She asks the weirdest questions—'How would it be if the sky was purple instead of blue'—and says the weirdest things—'Why aren't we born with a tattoo on our body to signify our importance in the world?'—but he gets used to it and even starts to enjoy it.
It is so very different from Faith's feistiness, Lucy's smartness and Will's denseness that it is easy to forget that his heart has been broken.
It's like he is living in a whole different world where the sky is purple and so are the oceans and they are all inked with their purpose in life so they don't have to go stumbling around trying to figure it out themselves.
He decides he likes her world better than his.
