Hey, guys! I thought while I've put my main book on hiatus for a while I'd keep everyone up to date on the progress...I also just miss updating stuff xD.

For those who don't know, my main book is The Convergence. I haven't updated it for a while because I felt trapped by what I had already written and the path I wanted the story to go was so far from the original idea it would be too hard and confusing to try and fix while continuing it. Also, the fear of it getting taken down because of copyright regulations for having stuff that was almost directly copied from Rick Riordan's actual books (hence them reading/watching stuff from the books, though I did add my own twist to those parts so it wasn't exactly the same) was something I needed to sort out. Because of all of this, I decided to rewrite the story so I could take it where I wanted it to go and to take out any possibility of copyright infringement. 

Rewriting The Convergence

Good news: I've practically already done it! I am proud to say I have the outline of the new story already complete. I've made a lot of changes including to the title of the book! None of the changes will be implemented until I start to prepare for the new release in which I will post a chapter every week (which will be on time because I will have everything already written :D).

I plan to write an update every once in a while as I progress through this and check off everything before launch. I am also using this as a method to prepare myself for writing my own original books and to keep my writing skill from getting rusty.

Bad News: Despite all of this, I still have a long way to go. I realized to write a good story is relatively easy, but to write a great one is much much harder. For a while, I was just getting by while riding the seat of my pants, but then I found myself wanting to give more to those who read my stories. After reading through a ton of fanfiction (from different fandoms), watching a ton of TV shows, movies, and even reading a vast amount books, then watched reviews of all of these from different perspectives and researched what made stories bad, good, and great, I realize how many of them were just...mediocure. Many used plot twists for shock factor and didn't think if it would make sense to the story or not, people would die for no reason and it wouldn't progress the plot, plots would have too many holes to be overlooked, characters were bland or just flat out 2D or even just all the same character with a different face, villains had no actual motive than to just 'be bad' (heck I would have even taken the 'I just want to take over the world because I can' cliche over a lot of the excuses I've heard), and many just have a lack of imagination. I wanted to change this for myself because I'm very much guilty of a lot of this too. A lot of my stories have used plot twists for shock factor, many of my characters don't even try to match the character they are supposed to be and are very 2D or clones of themselves, my stories also have so many plot holes it's unforgivable. I want to give more, so I'm taking my greatest work and changing it for the better. I know it will be far from perfect, the plot still has holes, I'm struggling to make sure the characters are not 2D, I'm trying to bring my imagination to life, I'm trying to make sure everything that happens has a purpose. It's hard, but the more I practice the better I'll be at it and the better quality I'll produce.

So hang in there for now. Bare with me because this is gonna be a wild ride, but I hope you all find it worth it :).
