Amy's POV.

I watched Cassie leave the ballroom with Eric, one of the royals. I hope she is able to pass this stage of the test.

I quickly left the corner I was standing in, briskly walking through the the hallways, I know this halls like the back of my hand. This palace is my home, I have been living here for as long as I can remember.

I am a Lot, we are the advisors to the queens. My mother was the former queen's Lot but she died during the last raid that occurred. Since when I was a little girl, my mom had always taught me the ways of a Lot. Now that I am of age, I can fully assume my rightful position but unfortunately the queen's baby got kidnapped immediately after she was born. During childbirth, some complications arose so she lost a lot of blood making her weak. Due to this, she was unable to perform a protection on her baby as it is usually a tradition that immediately a princess or prince is born, the queen is meant to perform this spell to help protect the baby but due to the queen's health at the time, the spell had to be performed by another but at that same time, our the castle fell under attack and during the commotion, the baby was kidnapped and the king was killed.

So, for the last eighteen years or so the princess has been missing and the queen has been unable to recover fully. Some say she hasn't recovered yet because of the loss of both her husband and child while others say a spell was cast on her because for the last 18 years ago the queen has been in a sleep like state. Pitiful actually.

Anyway, we have been searching for the princess ever since but we haven't found her. After 5 years of searching, the queen's long lost junior sister finally came out of hiding and she has been our saving grace. Some years after she arrived, with this plan to help us determine who the real princess. At first, random girls from different kingdoms would come here claiming to be the went by the numbers started decreasing till there were none.

One day, she decided that we should expand the search to the rest of the world but the problem was where were we going to find her in. I didn't know how she looked like but one thing was for sure, she had blonde hair with green eyes. This helped to narrow our search down but it didn't make it any easier.

Initially I was confused, how do they know she would have blonde hair and green eyes? It was one of the older maids that told me that the very first queen cast a spell millions of years back on herself and the generations to follow that every first born child of every queen ruler of Avalon would have blonde hair with green eyes.

I didn't believe at first but as I was walking through the hallways of the kings and queens, where their pictures were hung, I realized that although they all had different facial features, and figures, one thing stood out, blonde hair with green eyes. But it didn't end there she also placed a spell on her Lot, at first people referred to it as a curse because the spell was that every Lot following her lineage that all her children were to all be girls. And till this day, all the Lots of the past queens have all been girls and so have their children. So technically I already know the gender of my future child.

The search for princess continued we would pick any random girl, but with blonde hair and green eyes, monitor her for a while so we know her character, most of them were either too vain or had bad manners or not smart enough, the list went on. The few who managed to pass the first stage, weren't too lucky during the second stage which Cassie is about to go through.

Personally, I didn't like this stage, was too violent but Stella, the queens sister assured me that the reason for it was genuine. The plan was get a volunteer from one of the royals, Stella being a very powerful witch as she is a descendant of the royal family of Avalon. The royal families of this kingdom have very strong magic that is unbreakable so once a spell is cast it can only be broken by another royal.

She cast a spell on him, he was to lure the princess away from the others, get her to a secluded place then kill her. His weapon being a knife which he is meant to stab her with. When I heard about the plan I was furious, does she want to kill the girl? When I confronted her about it, she then informed me that the knife is no ordinary knife, it is charmed. It cannot cause any physical harm to a human. She said it would be like using a paper knife to stab someone. I was satisfied with her m explanation so I let the matter go.

After that, A guard was appointed to the door. His orders were to start shaking and banging on the door after 10minutes and to continue shouting and banging until he received an order from the princess inside. Now, this part many failed woefully. Most of them just kept on shouting and crying for them to help but didn't say any other thing.

Stella said the reason for the guard being there is because even in the face of danger, a queen should know how to control herself and lead others to safety. Also, some girls tend to fight back a lot and so the royal usually ends up hurting them. As Stella watches from the upper room, immediately she feels things are getting out of hand, she orders the guard to go in. The spell also entails that immediately someone is able to gain entry into the room, the spell will break.

It has been a while, I think it's time I go to Stella. Getting to the door for the upper room, a.k.a the viewing room, I knock on the door. After a few seconds Stella answers

"Come in" she says. Walking in, I find she is seated, still watching what's happening.

"My Lady, what is happening?" I ask talking a sit opposite her. You can't see anything until she grants you permission as the room is under her spell

"Take a look" now, I can see. I look to find Cassie by the door shouting for the guard to help. Eric has blood covering his forehead as he takes huge steps towards her shouting at her to shut up. He shoves her to the ground, stalking towards her when she gives the guard an order, yay! She passed

"Shall I go and get her?" I ask Stella.

"No, not yet" she says I'm about to ask her why? But I look at the scene to find Cassie bleeding, Eric cut her?

"Your highness! Is that the wrong knife he's using? How come she is injured?" I ask worriedly but she pays no heed to my questions, just keeps on watching with a serious look on her face.
Sighing loudly, I go back to watch when I see Eric cut her hand.

"Jesus!, your highness, he cut her again!!" I scream

"I can see that too Amy" she replies calmly

"Then why are you doing nothing about it?" I ask angrily.

"Shut up and watch Amy, can't you feel her aura from her, it's coming out in waves" words, I look at her leaning on the wall, her green glowing

"Quickly Amy, get the guards, go to them. I'm not sure it's Cassie that needs saving now, quickly before she ends up killing Eric" she commands, I'm confused

"What?" I asked, not sure I understood or heard her correctly. Who is holding the knife and charging towards the other? Giving her a ' are you sure you are seeing well' look, she frowns

"Amy, can't you see? That girl is the princess and right now if my hunch but is correct,her will to live have helped her to unlock her powers and right now Eric is in danger so hurry up and Go!" Not needing any more explanation, I quickly run out to of the room towards the ballroom to find the guards and other royals by the door trying to open it. Idiot guard! Who told him to call them? Urgh!!

The door opens and what I see baffles me. I hope Eric isn't dead, that dent is huge, if he does live, he's body is going to hurt like crap. Running across the room to the princess, I see her eyes closing and she's falling to the ground. These stupid heels are not helping my speed. Before I can reach her, her body slumps, her head going to the ground. just then one of the royals catches her, I think he's name is Reed. When did he run past me?

"Quickly, carry her to infirmary, those of you there carry him" I say pointing to Eric on the floor. Running behind them we all make our way to the castle doctor. I hope they both are alright ? Taking them to separate rooms, I rush to Eric's room, he looks worse than Cassie.

"Everyone out now" the doctor orders. I quickly make my way to Cassie's room to find the doctor on the ground with Cassie on the floor, hands lifted in front of her.

"Cassie, what did you do?!" I shout at her from the door.
