I fluttered open my eyes. I was greeted by sheering light. As my eyes adjusted I could see I was in a room. I sat up looking around. I was in some sort of bed. There was a window in front of me. I peered through the window to see people in white and black bustling around. When I turned to my right I saw the man with the eyepatch. He watched me like a hawk.

"W-where am I?!" I stuttered trying to make words.

"Ms. Rivers you are at S. H. E. I. L. D. headquarters. This is one of the resting rooms. I am Nick Furry, head of S.H.I.E.L.D."

I thought for a moment. "Why am I here?" I asked again.

"You have a special power Ms. Rivers and we need your help. A nuclear threat has been issued from space and we need to protect Earth. You Ms. Rivers, can help us do just that." He pointed at me as his last words fell from his mouth.

"But I don't have any special powers!" I persisted.

"Not yet." He replied. "Come with me." I stood up and followed him out of the room. We walked in silence down the metallic halls as people eyed us going bye. I fastened my pace to match his. We turned a corner into a room.

The room had a single chair in the middle with buttons and panels on all sides of it. The chair looked like one in a dentist with wires and needles ready to be placed.

Nick escorted me to the chair. I got on and laid back. Before he left I asked him.

"What's going to happen?" doctors and people worked around me as he spoke.

"Well, Like I said before, you have a special power. A power that no one has. We've been watching you every day. In your home, at school, anywhere. And even the slightest choice between cereal or waffles were signs of the power. How you reacted to certain things. We only know of the power because other people had it before, then they died of it. But don't worry, we saw strong signs in you than just baby signs like the others had. So the power will work on you."

"What exactly is my power?" I asked again.

He paused before replying. "We don't know." He turned and left the room leaving me and the doctors. I was shaking. I was scared. I didn't know what was going to happen. Was I going to die?

A doctor came up and placed a helmet looking thing on my head and turned and grabbed a needle and stuck it on both of my arms. The helmet was big and it seemed like the needle was pointing up to my head. I gripped the armrest for support and I closed my eyes. I was ready. Sort of. I was ready for whatever came. Suddenly a man spoke.

"Activating in 3....2.....1...NOW!" I felt a shock I my head. It was like a HUGE headache. I'm pretty sure my brain cells were being reprogrammed of something. I squirmed as the pain took me over.

Soon the rush of electricity stopped, but the world kept going. The room was spinning as I tried to look ahead. People rushed over to me. Everything was happening so fast. It was like race car speed. First I was kidnaped to a secret place and now was shocked to death. I couldn't take it any more. I just wanted to go home.

Just then, a doctor took the helmet and needles out of me and helped me sit up. I was so dizzy. I barely saw Nick come back with another girl and help me stand up. I was on the verge of collapsing there but I stood strong. My vision was blurry and I could barely hear voices. I closed me eyes and shook my head. My hearing returned and also my vision. I could barely hear him speak.

"It worked." I was 80% functional now so I looked up at Nick. The world slowly began to stop spinning. He smiled and helped me walk to another room down the halls. I didn't speak.

I now was fully back to normal, although a little exhausted. he brought me to a big room. It was surrounded to what looked like training equipment. Suddenly Nick kneeled down to my level and spoke.

"Alright, now I know that you just went through a lot for your age-"

"You think!!" I looked back at him with a smile. He continued.

"And we need to get this out of the way. We just activated your powers, now you need to know how to use them. Then the hard part is over. It's for the best. Do you understand?"

I nodded. "Good." He stood back up. He gestured in front of him. "Avengers, meet your newest member, Isabel Rivers."

In front of me was the full Avengers team. Every last one of them. My eyes widened as they walked over to me. I looked at all of them. These were the people that got to save the world. And now, I will too.

"Hello!" they each said. I looked around in awe at them. I smiled back.

"It's a pleasure to be working with you!" I said enthusiastically."

"Alright jelly bean, let's see what you got!" Nick shouted. He pushed me out of the circle of Avengers. I stood in the large room and looked back at Nick.

"So, uh, what do I do?" I asked. I looked around as the Avengers became my audience.

"Just, do something." He whispered stepping back. He joined the Avengers as they exchanged glances. I gulped and cleared my throat. I had no clue what to do. I just tried something out of the blue. I closed my eyes and stuck out. My right hand.

A blue jet stream exploded out of my hand and hit the opposing wall. I opened my wide eyes and tried I again. The same thing happened. This time it made a dent in the wall. I looked back at the Avengers who had the same expression as me. I tried my other hand and the same thing happened.

Laughing, I shot another blue stream at the ceiling and it bounced off hitting other walls. Everyone ducked as it zoomed past them like lightning. I quickly stuck my hand out again concentrating hard. The magic sucked back into my hand and disappeared. I tried one last thing and shot a stream at one of the training equipment. It blew to pieces.

I tried again and tried to think about something different as I shot. This time, the equipment lifted from it's resting place into the air. As I moved my hand, the blue jet stream connecting to the equipment pulled it along. I smiled as I managed to drop the equipment in front if the wide eyed Avengers. I smirked as they looked back up at me.

"She learns fast." Steve Rogers said.

"She is the one." Nick replied. I walked back over to them still smiling. I placed my hands on my hips.

"What now?"
