A Bigger Problem

"What do you mean, there's no such thing as the Galaxy Garrison?" Lance asked fearfully, looking at the Google search.

"It just doesn't exist. Are you sure you went to school there?" Steve asked, still slightly happy that he got the Google to work.

"I... Can I look at something?" Steve nodded and handed Lance the laptop. He typed something and waited for a moment before scrolling through what Steve could only guess we're search results.

"What is it?" Steve asked.

"I went missing when I left, but when I looked it up... I don't exist either." Lance stared at the screen with a furrowed brow and fear in his eyes. Steve patted him on the head awkwardly.

"That's odd. You were asleep for seventy years, so there should be something on here. You would've gone missing." He mused.

"Well, I don't seem to exist." Lance pouted. A gunshot echoed through the room, causing both Steve and Lance to perk up. Lance drew his Bayard while Steve grabbed his shield.

"Stay low." The Captain muttered, creeping towards the door. Before he could peek out to see what was going on, Tony shot through the glass door, landing on the floor with a thud.

"Tony?" Lance asked worriedly, watching the Iron Man's lack of movement. He crawled over to him.

"Get... Arc reactor." Tony moaned. Lance stared at the hole in the man's chest where his big blue battery used to be.

"What's an arc reactor?!" Lance hissed at Steve.

"It's the big version of the blue thing in Tony's chest. Why?" He whispered.

"Let's just say it isn't in Tony's chest anymore!" Lance whispered back, gesturing towards the unconscious billionaire. Steve groaned in annoyance.

"Shit."

"Language." Lance muttered.

"Who told you about that?!"

"You said it the first day we met." Lance reminded him. Before he could continue, a man dressed in all black walked in. He held a smoking gun in a metal arm. A black mask covered his lower face, and long, thick locks of dirty brown hair fell over his eyes.

"Bucky?"

"Shiro?" Lance and Steve spoke at the same time, exchanging questioning glances before turning back to the man.

"He has Tony's arc reactor!" Wanda yelled, tackling the man. She sent out beams of red smoke, lifting the man into the air. He turned in mid-air, shooting towards her. She slid out of the way, but the bullet hit her in the arm.

"Tell us something we don't know!" Lance yelled, activating his Bayard. He shot at the man, reminding himself that this was not his hero. His hero was most likely dead or somewhere across the galaxy, thinking Lance was dead.

"Bucky, what's going on?" Steve shouted, drawing the man's attention.

"Steve?" He asked. He pryed his mask off, tossing it aside. "What are you doing here?!"

"This is where I live! How did you not recognize Tony?"

"Whenever I see him he's in a metal suit trying to kill me. It's a bit of a Stark contrast." Bucky smirked.

"Can you maybe put his battery thing back in his chest so he doesn't die?" Lance asked. Bucky narrowed his eyes at the boy before doing as he asked.

"I came here to get an asset." Bucky informed Steve.

"What asset?" Steve asked, standing up.

"A kid. His name is McClain. Fury wants him." Steve galnced at the open laptop, the Google search of 'Lance McClain' still open. Lance slunk under the table.

"Well, he isn't here."

"Fury said Tony gave a report a week ago about him being in your custody. From what Tony said, the kid is dangerous and powerful."

"Tony's opinion has since changed." Steve explained. Bucky glanced at Lance.

"Is that him?"

"Yeah."

"Well, if you trust him, I do too." Bucky sighed. "Fury's going to have my ass for this."

"I thought S.H.I.E.L.D. disbanded?" Tony asked, sitting up carefully.

"It did." Bucky agreed, offering no explanation.

"So, what's the plan?" Lance asked, grabbing the laptop. He bumped the keyboard, opening the camera on accident. Unbeknownst to him, a video began to record.

-

Castle of Lions

"Oh my God." Keith gasped, staring at the image of Lance's beaten and bloody face.

"How is it from seventy years in the future?!" Pidge exclaimed.

"Let's find out." Hunk said, pressing a button on the control console next to Allura.

"...plan?" Lance's voice started the video.

"I'll just tell ol' Saint Nick that I didn't find you here." A man with a metal arm said. Shiro nudged Keith, who smiled wearily at the black paladin.

"Did you just call Fury 'old Saint Nick'?" A man with a big shield asked.

"It's about time." A man with a metal circle in his chest groaned. He was sitting cross-legged on the floor.

"So, why did Fury want Lance?" The man with the shield asked the man with the metal arm.

"All in due time, Steve." The man with the metal arm promised. "Before I tell you that, I want to apologise for ripping Tony's heart out."

"No homo." Tony joked. Keith coughed.

"Anyway, Fury wants Lance because of his magic gun."

"I swear to God." Tony muttered under his breath.

"The gun has some sort of shapeshifting power. Fury wants to reverse engineer it." Metal arm explained.

"Hey, Bucky - can I call you Bucky?" Lance asked. The man with the metal nodded. "Well, Bucky, thanks for not turning me over to ol' Saint Nick."

"As much as he may not want to complete his mission, kid, it'll get done. I can't promise nobody will be hurt this way." A voice boomed over some sort of intercom system.

"Fury." Tony growled. A ton of men and women in black body suits swing into the room, breaking through windows and even the ceiling.

"Let's go down singing." (I meant to type swinging but this was too good to correct) Lance said, activating his Bayard. Ten agents swarmed the blue paladin, more and more advancing on him as he shot down his attackers. After roughly twenty minutes of fighting, Lance was dragged away. His bloody, unconscious face was the last thing seen before the video stopped.

Oh boy! It's heating up, isn't it? What'll ol' Saint Nick do to Lance? What will happen to Bucky? How did the video get to the Castle? Find out next time... ON DRAGON BALL Z

I'm so sorry.
