Why am I suddenly talking about morality? You may ask. Well, because I cannot stand my city being humiliated by some foreigner.

  There is a YouTuber from the US who goes by the name ‘‘RiceGum’’ who filmed a vlog about he and his friend going to Hong Kong ( which in itself is fine ), but in that video he had been extremely disrespectful and offensive to our culture and the place in general.

  First of all, he putted up the Japanese flag instead of the Hong Kong flag to represent the city. It was supposed to be a WW2 joke about Axis Japan occupying Hong Kong, which was the start of the infamous 3 years and 8 months when Chinese people here were treated like second class citizens and the youth was brainwashed into believing in their ideology, meanwhile the economy was a total joke because of inflation. It was one of the darkest hours Hong Kong has ever faced.

  I do not think that it is okay to joke about this in such a casual tone, since many old folk here still suffer from the trauma caused by this horrendous historical event.

  Secondly, when he arrived at the airport, he joked about how he could not understand the sign above him when the sign has both Chinese and English instructions. Well, unless he is illiterate, he could read the damn sign.

  Thirdly, he shouldn't laugh at a random pedestrian for not understanding ‘‘The words that are coming out of my mouth’’. This is just plain rude, and how would he feel if a Hong Konger or Chinese person comes up to him and say ‘‘你知唔知我講緊啲乜?’’ or ‘‘你知不知道我在説甚麼?’’ when he or she is visiting the US? He would most likely not like it very much.

  Besides, if you know anything about this place. You would probably know that Hong Kong is an international city therefore, most people here know how to speak English.

  Let’s move on to my next point, he and his friend was looking at a menu from s restaurant from the airport. Then, he proceeded to complaining about the high prices of the dishes. Which he just came out looking like an idiot. Why? Because the currency that was on the menu was in HKD ( 1 USD equals to 7.8 HKD ). Moreover, the prices of things in the airport is more expensive than in any part of the city. A really big contrast to his habit of flexing if you ask me.

  Then, when he saw some 牛雜 a kind of street food which is made of an assortment of the organs of a cow, he said that it was dog meat and they ‘‘should try some meow meow’’. Which made him look like a jerk and a moron. The jerk part is because he did not know for sure that it was in fact dog before accusing. The moron part is because Hong Kong has already abolished this practice in 1950.

  To make things worse, he forced an old man to eat an ice lolli that had already been partially eaten by him. This is just immoral, why in the world would anyone think that bullying the elderly is okay? What has the world come to?

  To add insult to injury, he decided to go around asking innocent people where he could find dog meat, cat meat or escorts. What in the world was in his mind? All of the above are banned here. He isn’t going to find any doggo meat or find any pussy to eat ( literally or figuratively ), and asking about the last thing on the list can be classified as sexual harassment.

  The final thing I think that is offensive is that he and his friend went into a clothing store and started to make the manikins in the store appear to be doing sexual acts, I find this absolutely appalling because it will tarnish the reputation of the brand and that he didn't give a crap about the staff there and the innoncent passerbys ( especially if there were children ).

  To conclude all of these terrible acts, in my point of view, he was very narrow minded, doesn't have the basic decency to respect other cultures and thinks that it is fine to bully old folk and women.

  I also think that he was being a pathetic coward to choose Hong Kong as a target to attack Chinese culture since Hong Kongers don’t usually turn to violence in these cases, but if he did the same things in mainland China, boy would he get his ass kicked.

  Well, as least he achieved his goal of being famous, just add ‘‘in’’ before it.

  Besides, he just angered a big chunk of the Chinese community, which is foolish because we make up one fifth of the world's population.

  Do I think that it is possible for him to be a better person? Yes, but he will have a long way to go.

  To everyone who is reading this, every single culture is beautiful and unique in it’s own little way. Try to respect other cultures, try to appreciate them, see what they have to offer. But if you decided to be a douche and hate on other cultures, just leave that country.
