Chapter 7: Needs You
"Come now. It's urgent."
You could feel something filling your mind with unease. You failed to stop from wondering the reason behind her weeping and desperately hoped that it wouldn't be as grave or dangerous to damage yourself.
Then, you realized that you have never witnessed Taehyung's grandma grieve in such deep pain. She was someone who you would trust without small suspicion if someone deemed her as an angel. She would always greet you with a loving smile that always succeeded in making your day filled with elation and relief. And her gentle, maternal gestures had always proved her affection towards you.
But even without perceiving any reasons, hearing her cry felt like a flash of powerful lightning that has just stricken your heart.
You wanted to be in her arms. Hold her tight enough to show no sign of release. You wanted to cry with her.
You tried to separate your mouth but failed to emit a word, as if your lips were tightly sealed and your thoughts were permanently concealed.
This was difficult.
You were afraid to listen to her frail voice and the reason behind her distress because resisting another pain would be unbearable and eventually tear you apart.
"What is it?" you finally spat out some words.
"I-it's my li-little Tae..." she whimpered out each word. You could clearly tell the urgency and desperation for your presence from her voice.
She needed you.
"You have to come here. R-right now... please..." she begged. She sounded helpless and vulnerable which made you want to crack your phone screen and reach out for her frail hands.
As she continued bawling over the phone, you could detect how much her voice rasped in her throat. Her breathing became harsher and uneven, even her gasps seemed agonized as if the air was forced out from her lungs. Everything sounded irregular and rapid as she heavily emerged in each gasp.
In this condition, she could faint. Or worst, heart attack.
Her words seemed barely audible. "I need you." she wept. "He needs you."
Those desperate words caused your brain to send signals to your eyes. You clenched your fist and tried your best to restrain yourself from tearing apart.
You always considered weakness and failure a shame. From the day of your brother's death, all you could show was what you have feared the most.
Vulnerability.
You isolated yourself. You felt numb. Being numb to emotions, being numb to life. You felt disconnected from the world. You would wake up in the morning just to go back to bed again and stare at the ceiling aimlessly.
Flashback:
It was 32 degrees Celsius.
It didn't take long till the sweltering heat penetrated your entire house. Even the walls and floors were burning. It felt like you were locked in a cage, surrounded by fiery lava. Nothing could be touched. Everything was excessively hot. The air conditioner wasn't properly activating since last month and was never repaired. You possessed nothing that could help you at that moment. You had to endure the scorching heat by yourself.
Even though the burning heat had swallowed your body, you still hid under the heavy blanket on your bed. Sweats were built and dripped from every part of your body. It felt like you just showered with what you had exuded through the pores of your skin.
Disgusting.
But nothing mattered at that point and it seemed like there was no solution to your internal conflict. The only thing that locked you away from the world was the absence of the only person you have relied on.
Your deceased brother.
He left you without even saying goodbye. Without any note, without any text.
With nothing.
You tried to evoke good memories of your brother, which didn't affect anything except aching your heart and producing tears from your eyes which were limitless.
You were stuck in a pit of mounting despair; no way to climb up. Yet, there was that one person who saved you from the bottomless hole.
Kim Taehyung.
He was the consolation and the angel who took your sorrow and pain away. The one who reached out for your hand and liberated you from the prison you have initially locked yourself in.
He made you realize what you have lost was yourself.

How long has it been?
A year?
So many of you have messaged me and eagerly waited for my response. Well, what I want to say is that I am back!!! I am so sorry for not uploading since forever. I never thought that my life would become this hectic. Assignments, homework, tests, exams, and endless lessons over and over in a cycle.
I am posting this chapter before all my exams are going to start. After exams, I promise, I swear to BTS, that I will upload regularly. Probably once a week or some shit. I am truly sorry for all the wait. Never forget that I love you guys!!!
