Evie looked at herself in the mirror. Today is the day. The day she has to murder Josh. Otherwise Simon will be killed. She stuffed a switchblade into a pocket of her jacket. Evie practiced a few fake smiles before joining the boys in the kitchen. She mindlessly ate her food, thinking of a way out of this. Sadly, there isn't any.

"Earth to Evie." Josh waved his hand in front of her face.

"Huh? Sorry I spaced out for a second there." she apologized. The guys just laughed at her. "I'm going outside for moment. I need some fresh air." she excused herself. All three boys looked at each other confused. Evie stepped outside and sat on the steps of her front porch. Her stomach was in one giant knot. Evie couldn't sit here and listen everyone's laughter. She barely made it down her street before someone called her name.

"Evie! Wait! Is something wrong?" Josh came up behind her. Simon followed him. Josh was just so caring of her she felt like breaking down right in front of him but she couldn't.

"N-No. I hang out with guys all the time I just thought I'd take a walk by myself." Evie lied.

"Oh, okay. We'll just leave you then." Josh turned back around. Evie wanted to let him and Simon go and put off her job, but it's best to just get it over with.

"No, you don't have go. Why don't you join me?" Evie invited. Josh and Simon looked at each other before shrugging and walking back over. Evie's hands started to sweat.

"It's a beautiful morning today isn't it?" Josh observed.

"Yeah and none of us have anything to do today so maybe we could hang out and have some fun?" Simon added in. Their words only made this more difficult for Evie to do.

She fell behind them a little bit as they chatted among themselves. Evie put her hands in her pockets and wrapped her right hand around the knife. She thought about it once more before flicking it out. Holding it behind her back for moment, her hand shaking. She lifted her hand around to the back of Josh's neck. Counting down from five. But when she got to one, she stopped.

"I can't." Evie said, dropping the knife. Josh and Simon turned around. "I can't! You hear me?! I can't!" she shouted, hoping the man could hear her. Evie felt her eyes start to water.

"Can't what? Were you going to... kill me?" Josh choked. Evie nodded. That's when the man who forces her to do this came out from behind a car. "JJ?!" Josh and Simon gasped in unison.

"Yes. Or this was going to happen." JJ brought up his gun, aiming at Simon. It all seemed to happen in slow motion. His finger pulled back on the trigger. The bullet soared through the air straight into Simon's chest. He collapsed to the ground, blood splattering everywhere.

"Simon!" Josh screeched. He dropped down to his friend. One would think Josh would fight back to JJ but he let him go. Josh was focused on Simon. JJ laughed evilly as he left. "Simon... please... please please please..." Josh begged. Simon only laid there motionless. His shirt soaked red with his blood. Josh held Simon's hands to his chest as he began to sob.

"Josh, I-" Evie began.

"No! Don't try to talk and think that will help anything! He's dead and it's all your fault, you let him die! Evie I just lost my best friend because of you! He was like a brother to me! He didn't deserve to die! If either one of us was going to die it should've been me! Simon should be the one alive! Now he's never coming back! Simon was my everything, my life, I need him! I always have and I always will!" Josh cried out. Evie slowly backed away feeling more guilt than any one person should. "Simon..." Josh croaked.

He's dead. He's gone. Forever.
