Evie didn't want to look at herself in the mirror anymore. She felt like an indecent human being. Her tough, outgoing exterior had become sensitive and her insides hollow. The images and Josh screaming his friend's name played over and over again in her head. Evie couldn't stop thinking about it. She thinks about what Josh said, that he should've been the one to die. What would of happened then? Would Simon say the same thing as Josh? That he should've died? Or would Simon have realised that that's how Josh would've wanted it and been upset but understanding? Either way it doesn't matter. He's dead. Nothing can change that.

That's the thought that Josh couldn't stop thinking about. He's alone now. His sidekick, best friend, "brother", now no longer with him. It physically hurts Josh when wakes up every morning and remember what happened only a few days ago. It's hard for Josh to explain what Simon did for him. Simon supported Josh when he felt lost and left out. Simon stayed loyal to Josh unlike many other people who he thought were. Simon... Simon was the only person who understood Josh. The way he felt, how he was treated. They shared the same fiery passion that they used to destroy their lives further. But they didn't care back then. Josh now realizes it wasn't worth all that.

Josh isn't the type of person that when something bad happens, he sits in his room all day crying about it for a week. He likes to be alone but still doing something to take his mind off of whatever happened. Not only for that, but so he can let go of his emotions and not keep them bottled up inside of him. So over the next couple of nights Josh would stay out until sunrise. He would do small things like the way Ethan slashed people's tires. Deep inside Josh wanted to light the whole town on fire. Like how Simon attempted on their own school, or the library. Even though the library was more or less an accident.

Evie tried her best to avoid Josh. She wanted to talk to him and make everything okay but she was scared he would lash out on her. She's lost trust from her own brother for different reasons. One being she kept the secret from everyone and Cal was afraid that she might do something like that again. Another reason is that because of her Josh might somehow do something that will end up getting Cal jail. She didn't understand until she asked him. Cal said what he meant by that was, Josh would do an act of crime that would result in the police chasing him and he would lead them to his gang, then they would get busted and arrested. Not only is Evie against herself, but it seemed like the whole world is.
