Chapter 2 - Tutor
Chapter 2 - Tutor
The first week of school flew by so fast but I was thankful for that. We got a few pop quizzes and I'm hoping I passed them all. Now that its Friday Miss said we'll get our papers back and our results from our exams. The first bell rings and I rush to my locker and then off to class but I bump into someone again on the way. Oh I think I forgot to mention that I can be pretty clumsy at times. Which I think you can see by now.
"I'm sorry..." I'm cut off when I look up and I'm met with blue beautiful eyes.
I take a step back and look at the owner of the beautiful eyes and his face is just as beautiful. He smiles a warm smile at me and says that it's okay.
"No it's fine I wasn't looking where I was going, sorry." He smiles.
"No it's my fault." I apologize again.
"You apologize a lot." He chuckles.
"I'm Austin by the way." He sticks out his hand for me to shake.
I accept and shake his hand before introducing myself to him then making my way to class. Wow he's cute. When I reached to class, thankfully the teacher was just arriving the same time as me so I wasn't in any trouble. I walk in and look for seat but the only free one is in-between Harry and some guy named Mark. I mentally make a note not to be late again because right now I could be sitting next to Katie and Jessica but instead I'm sitting next to Harry and some guy I don't even know.
"Alright class settle down. We'll be doing a new topic today. Get out your books please." Mr Jameson, our Maths teacher says as he takes his seat.
Mr Jameson gives us some notes on the new topic and gives us a few problems to work out. I understood everything he said and now I'm putting it all to use. He only gave us five problems and in about ten minutes I was finished with all.
"Hey Brie, can you help me this?" A deep, raspy voice asks before I feel someone nudging my shoulder.
"Since when do you want help with your work, Harry?" I whisper only for him to hear.
If our teacher catches us talking he's going to get pretty angry because he's very strict. Everyone in class is afraid of him and no one disobeys him because of how strict he is. Now it seems as if Harry is afraid of him too.
"Since now. Just show me what to do or give me the answers before I get angry." He says in a low tone for only me to hear.
"Fine." I push my book towards his desk and he only smirks.
That boy has a way of getting whatever he wants. If I didn't give him my book he would have gotten angry and told Sir that I did something to him and then he would have embarrassed me in front of everyone. I know him too well to mess with him. That idiot Harry Styles.
First period didn't end too well because Harry kept making sexual comments and I felt like I was about to explode. He kept saying things like "You would be good in bed", "You would become a bad girl once I touched you" "I would love to see you naked" and "If you weren't so innocent you would be in love with me by now" and the list went on and on. I don't understand the last comment though, what does he mean that if I wasn't so innocent I would be in love with him? If I wasn't innocent I still wouldn't be in love with a jerk like him.
"Hey." I turn in the direction of the sound and I'm met with those beautiful eyes again.
Gosh, why does he have to be so cute? I smile and walk up to him as everyone rushes off to the cafeteria. We walk side by side to the cafeteria and not long after my three friends come and join us. We arrive in the café and join the long line. After getting our tray of food we sit by an empty table and eat as we get to know this Austin guy better.
"So you're new here then?" Jessica asks as she eats her pasta.
"Yes I am. I moved because the job my dad does consists of us moving a lot but I think we're going to be here for a long time." He chuckles, biting into an apple.
"You need any help with work or anything? Brie here can give you lessons." Monique suggests but I shake my head vigorously.
"I'm not that bright." I look down at my plate of beans.
"Oh it's okay I don't need lessons I'm good at my subjects." He takes a drink of his juice.
"Well that's good." Katie glances at me with a smile.
I sigh in relief. I don't mind giving lessons but this guy is so cute I think I might pass out before we get through with any tutoring. We continue eating and talking about random crap like homework, how beautiful Austin eyes are, yes Katie had to bring it up, shopping we're going to do tomorrow and lots of other stuff. We even got into some personal stuff like if Austin has a girlfriend, which he said no to, what his favorite subjects are and what he will be studying to become in the near future.
We're now in our last period for the day and I can't wait for school to be over. We have Ms Morris, our English teacher, for last period. We took some notes, wrote a short story and now she's giving out the quizzes we took Tuesday. She called everyone's names except mines and Harry's. I wonder why. I hope I passed and not failed like Harry.
"Ms Higgins and Mr Styles I need to see you both now." She demands.
I glance at Harry who has a normal look on his face, whereas I look so nervous because I have no idea what I did. I don't know if I failed her exam but I hope I didn't. Harry and I both walk towards her desk where she hands us our papers.
I gasp when I see my mark. I got 92%. I take a peek at Harry's paper which reads 41%. He's not even close to reaching where I am. But why did Ms call us up. I open my mouth to ask just as she raises a hand to stop me.
"Yes you two may be wondering why I called you up here. Well the answer is simple; if you take a look at Harry's mark you see it's 41%, right?" She holds up Harry's paper for the both of us to see and we nod.
"If you take a look at Brie's mark you'll see 92%." She glares at Harry.
"So what are you trying to say? We already know she's a nerd you don't have to be so clear about it." Harry crosses his arms.
"Harry what I'm trying to say is that you're clearly failing all your subjects and this is unacceptable." Ms Morris slams her hands down on the desk.
"How can one of my students be doing so well whilst the other one is doing so badly?" She asks her tone sounding angry now.
"I don't know and I don't care. To hell with this shit." Harry says before walking off but Ms Morris pulls him back.
"Listen to me young man, you may be a bad boy and you may scare everyone else, you can be as rude as you like but when I'm talking about something this serious and it has to do with your education you will not give me any crap whatsoever, understand?" Ms grips his arm tight and for a moment there I saw his eyes soften a bit but now its back to normal.
"Fine what else do you have to say to me? And why the hell is she still here?" He points to me.
"Well I came up with the suggestion that Brie is excelling in all her subjects and since you're not, she's going to be tutoring you for a month."
"What?!?" Both Harry and I exclaim in unison.
"No, no, no there's no way I'm tutoring him. I can't tutor a delinquent like him!" I yell and Ms Morris seems displeased by my actions.
"Brie calm down, it shouldn't be too hard to tutor him plus his father will pay you." She glances at Harry who seems to be smirking.
"Why are you smirking?" I glance at him.
He doesn't answer he just shakes his head and continues to keep that smirk on his face. He's so irritating and annoying.
"Ms Morris I'm really sorry but I just can't do this. I can't tutor him, anyone but him." I point at him.
"Why, are you scared of me or something?" Harry voice is low.
"I'm not scared of you I just don't think I can handle to tutor a person like you." I reason with him.
Just then the bell rings and everyone gets up from their seats and exits the classroom, leaving Harry, Ms Morris and me alone in class. Harry leaves to grab his things from his desk then without a goodbye he exits the classroom like everyone else.
"Listen to you me Brie, if you don't agree to tutor Harry I'll get you kicked out of the Art Club." Ms Morris threatens.
Just by that sentence she had me frozen in place. I felt like I couldn't move. She'll get me kicked out of the Art Club? No, she can't do that, she won't do such a thing to me.
The Art Club meant a lot to me and everyone knew that. It was the thing I looked forward to every single week. I had the Art Club every Wednesday and I couldn't wait for Wednesday to reach at the start of every week. So Ms Morris can't just kick me out of it because it meant a lot to me.
I zoned out thinking about all that and when I came back to earth I saw no one else in class but me. I hope Ms didn't leave yet. If I agree to tutor Harry she won't get me kicked out of the Club.
I grab my bag and other stuff from my desk and run out to the parking lot just in time to see Ms getting into her car. She looks disturbed to see me but rolls down her window and listen to what I have to say.
"Alright I'll tutor Harry. When do I start?" I say, not making eye contact with her the whole time.
"I knew you wouldn't let your Art Club down. Well since tomorrow's Saturday you should start tomorrow itself." She smiles.
I nod and wait until she drives out of the school then to begin walking home. Boy this is going to one hell of a month.
Sorry but you guys won't hear much of Harry's side in this book. It will be more of Brie's Point Of View, I want Harry to remain in the dark a bit since he's the bad boy, sorry. You guys might question his actions and stuff because you don't know his side but that's okay, it's better that way.
