Auditions are extremely stressful especially when you're trying to impress someone like you school principle so that she will hopefully move you up a level when ballet starts again.  The audition was for the pre-professional level for ballet and while I knew that there was no way I could ever make it into that level, I wanted to be able to impress my ballet teacher and show her how far that I have come in the year.

While it was a challenging class, I felt like I did very well.  It was three hours long, which let me just say is pretty long for a normal class, but when it comes to an audition, well all that you expect normally kind of go out the window.  There where some things that where pretty challenging in the audition class for me, but it was nothing impossible.

We started off with a flat barre and flat center.  The we put on or pointe shoes and warmed up real quick and took a pointe center.  After that part of the audition was finished, then we went into the smaller studio and where taught some contemporary choreography, still on pointe.  This part was very challenging especially seeing as we where in a small space with about fifty people.  So it was hard to pick up the choreography.  Still, I gave it my best shot.  Then we had to do improve for a little bit, which for me was not that hard, the only problem is that when I like to do improve, I like to have a lot of kicks and doing kicks in a room where we are all squished together is not a good idea. 

Anyways, I think overall I did well and hopefully I impressed Ms. M.  When the class was finished, we found that it was Ms. M's birthday.  So we all sung to her and then the front office ladies had set up a chocolate fountain with some fruit and other fun things to dip.  One of the important things to do in an audition is your best and to also enjoy yourself.  You love dance, right?  So enjoy it!  Anyways, as always, have a great day and just keep dancing! ~Mia
