Chapter four

The fire tribe sat around a ginormous bonfire. A couple of the were leaping around in a strange savage-like dance. They sang in a wailing voice that seemed to pierce through you. The fire chief walked out of a tent and raised his hand. The noise immediately stopped. The chief started to talk in a monotone voice. It stayed in a low pitch. Klike tried to listen until it put him to sleep.

A FEW HOURS LATER

"Klike? Klike!" The fire chief called.

"Uh? Oh sorry."

"We will help you. You'd better get back to your tribe."

"Yup."

Klike climbed unto Felix. Felix jumped up, pushing the fire chief back with the force of his wings. They headed back in between the mountains. Klike sighed with relief as he saw the woodlands below him. He looked over the Kumara. He frowned, there seemed to be a lot of activity going on. Long icy lines inched slowly forwards.

"Felix, we have to get back quickly."

Felix swooped down and spiraled towards the ground. Klike almost fell off as the ground rushed towards them. He shouted in alarm, but Felix pulled up just in time. Klike slipped and rolled off just missing Felix's back spines.

He jumped up and ran to the chiefs hut. He knocked on the door, waiting for the chief to answer. No one came to the door. He slowly pushed it opened. The chief was in his bed snoring. Klike felt like screaming at him. He made himself to stay calm. He walked over and tapped him on his head.

"Chief?" He whispered.

The chief grumbled and turned his head.

"CHIEF!" He shouted.

The chief practically flew out of his bed. He slammed his head on the back of the bed.

"Whats the matter with you Klike?" He growled.

"The ice is attacking."

"WHAT! Get the battle ranks together."

"Ok."

Zorzon and Zap led the army towards the Woodlands. Holem was following behind for back up. The army behind him was still not all the way out of the city. They hoped to catch them by surprise.

"ATTACK!" Zorzon shouted.

He gazed triumphantly at the Woodlands, which had no activity. They swooped down and landed. His army followed softly. They stood in a small clearing and waited. There was no noise. Suddenly there was a loud battle cry and the woodland chief crashed through the bushes. He unsheathed his sword and slashed at Zorzon.

Zorzon snarled and barred his teeth. They collided and started to fight. Zorzon was aware of a huge battle going on around him. He saw a couple ice warriors running away. He was concerned until he saw a couple Woodland warriors running to. He laughed and tried to push the woodland chief to the ground. The chief lost his balance for a moment and he scratched his arm. Klike and Felix landed in between them and started to fight him instead. The chief growled with frustration. He swung wildly at the young elf. Klike jumped nimbly out of the way and charged towards a different warrior. Zorzon looked around the the woodland chief, but he was nowhere to be seen. A small tap on the head from the tip of a sword jerked him back to the present. He sliced through the arm of the guy who hit him.

He jumped back unto Zap. They went up and he looked at the battle. They were pushing the woodland residents back towards the ocean. The water warriors were waiting there. The battle was practically theirs.

Klike fought off the warrior and turned to meet the next one. This battle was not going well for them. They were being pushed back towards the ocean. He glanced around, A ice warrior spun around swinging a long ice stick with a blade on the end. He was being pursued by a group of woodland fairies. They flew in and out every time the stick came near. Klike grinned, the fairies were good at fighting. He saw similar groups over the battle. He turned to fight a charging warrior when suddenly a stream of fire flew over his head.

Klike turned sideways and saw a red dragon flying overhead. Close behind was a group of fire dragons. The ice army looked up with fear. Zorzon turned and looked at Klike with pure hatred. Klike cheered as they started to blow fire. Ice warriors weapons started to melt. They panicked and fled. Zorzon jumped unto Zap. Soon dragons with around ten people were flying away. Klike looked around. They might be scared of fire but they could fight off a couple dragons. He glanced behind him. There in the sky was the entire fire army. They must have sent a couple dragons as a decoy. Klike screamed in triumph as theychased away the ice army.

Soon all you could see was a glittering blue spot in the sky. Klike watched until you couldn't see them anymore. He spun around and started to help carry away the dead and wounded.

They got to the hospital and called out doctors and nurses. A crowd of women and children appeared and the women started to ask if their men were ok. A few ran to the battlefield to see if theire men were there. Klike headed back to bring more men. When he entered the clearing he found women wailing over the bodies of their men.

Klike blinked away tears as he saw their sorrow. He wondered what he would do if someone he loved died. He turned away and started to silently cry. The woodland chief stepped out of the trees and walked briskly over to Klike.

"We lost many good men today."

"I know."

The chief surveyed the field watching the women mourn.

"We will have to be ready in case they attack again."

"Do you think they will?"

"Probably, Zorzon won't give up. He wants the power in those gems."

"Yes chief."

Klike left and hurried back to his house in the great oak. He climbed up and called to Felix. Felix came flying over with great speed. He landed on a giant branch. Klike climbed on. They flew through the air together, recuperating from the battle. Klike gazed over where the ice had disappeared. He hoped they never came back.
