beach
"Strawberry?" The first thing you heard when you answered the call.
"Hyung?" You answered, still not completely over the fact that you were in hyung terms with Kim Taehyung.
"I have the week off after today, and since everyone else is just going back to their hometown, I was wondering–" Jimin's voice then interrupted Taehyung.
"Yah, Taehyung-ah who're you talking to?" You were fixing some food for yourself as you were in the call, so you just worked, a smile on your face hearing the Park Jimin real time.
"A friend, Jimin. Didn't Yoongi hyung call you to take him food at the studio? You should go before he loses patience," you heard Taehyung say. Then, there was a bunch of grumbles followed by a door closing. Taehyung sighed on the other end.
"Sorry about that, Strawberry. Anyways, what do you say about going to the beach?"
>.<
"Berry-berry!" You heard Taehyung call. That and 'Strawberry' was his nickname for you ever since he found out you loved strawberries. You grinned at him, waving as he approached you.
"Let's go?" Taehyung said, his eyes holding a gentle gaze. You nodded, getting your bag of clothes and following Taehyung into the car that'd take them to the train station.
He'd said that since his family was out on their own trip so he couldn't go and visit them.
And, since you two have been friends for around a month, he decided to spend time with you. You were still a BTS fan, and still Taehyung's fan, but you tried to not let that get between your friendship. Rather than the idol you'd thought he'd only stay as, he'd become something more than that.
"How long has it been since you've been to a beach?" Taehyung asked as you both got on the train.
"Maybe three years?" You answered, unsure. His eyes widened at your response.
"What-? That long? I'm glad we're going, then! I'll make sure this will be really fun!" He said, an enthusiastic smile on his face.
Heart fluttering and cheeks tinting pink, you laughed in delight, "I'm anticipating, then."
>.<
"Wah~" You muttered, staring at the lovelyness of the brightly lit moon behind some clouds. It was glowing as light breeze hit your skin, softly blowing on your hair as well. It was already evening when you arrived at your hotel, but you two still wanted to go to the beach. So, sitting on the cool sand, you allowed time to go nonexistent spending it with Taehyung.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Taehyung softly said, looking at the same sight you were. Glancing at him, you felt time come to a stop.
There he was, still beautiful as ever; eyes sparkling from the moonlight, lips curved up and hair slightly messy from not caring enough to brush it at the moment.
"Hyung," You said, making him look at you, his cheeks turning into an unnoticeable shade of pink.
"Yeah?" He hummed, staring into your eyes.
You grinned, eyes averting to the heavenly body in the sky.
"Thank you for bringing me. This is beautiful."
Taehyung followed your gaze, clearing his throat as he mumbled, "No problem. I wanted to spend time with you, anyway."
His words brought a quake to your heart. Ignoring that, you sighed, loving every second of this moment.
"I think there are rabbits on the moon."
With an amused smile, you gave him a side glance.
Slyly, you replied, "I think you're adorable."
Taehyung, spluttering, looked at you with a flabbergasted look. "What?"
You shrugged, the amused smile still playing on your lips, "What?"
Then, Taehyung let out a hearty laugh and gently pulled on your cheek, an endearing look in his eyes.
"Actually, you're more adorable."
>.<
"Ah, excuse me?" Your attention forwarded to the person who just spoke. It was a girl. She looked around a year younger than you did.
"Yes?" You answered, smiling.
"Do you know where I can find-" she asked, fishing for a piece of paper. You waited for her to ask whatever she wanted, you might be able to help her, who knows?
As you were conversing with the random girl, this didn't fail to reach Taehyung's attention. He was eyeing you two from another aisle of the souvenir store you were in. You both had entered at the same time, but wanted to buy stuff on your own.
Taehyung pouted, seeing you easily smile and talk to this random girl. It somehow didn't settle easy in his stomach- he felt possessive. He wanted you all to himself.
So, not even thinking it over, he marched right over and gripped your wrist gently and smiled at the girl- a fake one.
"I don't think he can help you, Miss. This is our first time, here. Also," he turned to you, his smile becoming genuine, now, "Aren't we going crab-watching? Let's buy souvenirs tomorrow, they said it might be difficult to find crabs at a later time than this."
You blinked, and nodded, "Right." You looked at the girl apologetically, "He's right. I don't think I can help you. I'm deeply sorry, Miss."
Taehyung nodded vigorously, happy you were agreeing with him. "We'll be taking our leave then."
And, he pulled you out the store, the place around your wrist tingling where he was holding it. A soft smile took over your face, heart uplifting in a strange feeling of happiness.
The girl, still at the shop, was awestruck, frozen on her stop.
"Was that Kim Taehyung?"
>.<
They'd stayed at the beach for two more days before returning back to Seoul, you, having work, were busy. So, Taehyung arrived at the dorm after parting with you, finding Jimin and Yoongi already back, as well.
"How was it with your family?" Taehyung asked, taking off his shoes after he dragged his bag in.
Jimin, who was lying down on one of the couches, pouted, "My brother wasn't there, but it was fun."
Taehyung looked at Yoongi, who was munching on a sandwich as he sat on the other couch, with an expectant look.
Yoongi shrugged, "Like always. I saw Holly, again," he said with a fond smile.
Taehyung grinned, stepping into the room after fully taking off his shoes. "Sounds fun."
"How was it with your family, Tae?" Jimin inquired as Taehyung sat next to Yoongi, who now was using his phone.
"I didn't visit them– they were out of country." He answered, getting out his phone. Jimin was also looking at his own phone, he was just conversing with Taehyung without looking at him.
"Oh? Then where did you go?"
"I went to the beach," Taehyung answered, looking at their twitter feed.
"Alone?" Yoongi asked, finishing up his sandwich; he was still looking at his phone screen.
"No, I went with strawberry."
Yoongi raised an eyebrow, glancing at him. "You went with a strawberry?"
Taehyung shook his head, a giggle leaving his lips. "A friend of mine."
Jimin sat up, pouting, "You went to the beach with your friends but not us! Not fair~"
Taehyung laughed, "But, we've been to the beach many times together! He hadn't been to one in almost three years apparently."
"Who is it, though? Your friend?" Yoongi asked, scrolling on his phone.
"Someone I met recently- he's fun. I like him," Taehyung said, happily. The other two were seemingly satisfied with the answers they got so they went back to doing what they were.
Taehyung hummed, pressing the new tweet button- wanting to tweet something. He slid his fingers through his camera roll wanting to share a picture.
He saw some of the pictures that you two had taken on the beach, his lips etching into a grin as he looked at all of them.
"Taehyung-ah," Yoongi's voice interrupted his trance.
"Hm?" Taehyung glanced at Yoongi who was looking at him with an amused smile. In the corner of his eyes, he saw Jimin asleep on the other couch.
"You look like you're in love."
Dizziness of what felt like a bucket of cold water splashed of Taehyung- getting hit with a realisation.
"W-what?"
Yoongi laughed, ruffling Taehyung's hair slightly after standing up. "Just my opinion, kid."
He walked into his room- probably- leaving Taehyung sitting there alone, frozen.
He placed his eyes on his phone again and saw the adorable selfie you two took on a high cliff, the wind in your hair and wide grins on your faces. Taehyung felt his heart flutter at the memory.
Sighing, he locked his phone and covered his face with his hands, the newfound knowledge of his own feelings slapping him like Jungkook slapped Hoseok's butt in one comeback talk.
He felt his heart race faster at the thought of you, again. And, he knew.
He knew that he'd fallen for you.
