Chapter 9
3rd Perspective
"You picked a bow and arrow as your weapon?" Arruna asked. She was never heard nor seen a boutny hunter have one.
"Yes, I like bow and arrows, they're my favorite weapon," Liz said. (Fact: authors favorite weapon is a bow and arrow)
"My favorite weapon is a flame thrower," Lexi thought out loud. They all looked at her, in confusion. Why would she pick a flame thrower? Lexi lowered her head.
"Don't Jedi only use lightsabers?" Someone from the crowd asked.
"Yes, they use lightsabers only. But you can't blame me, I didn't know I was Force-sensitive until I met Ezra."
"Alright, go on," Seela rushed her.
*Beginning of flashback*
After Bossk and Liz bought the bow, Liz learned how to use it rather quickly. But, none of them complained. A week after Liz got her new weapon, she was going on bounty hunter missions with Bossk. Being a distraction, hacking, killing, anything a bounty hunter does. Her best skill Bossk says she had was tracking down their target.
Of course not many people knew about Liz, only about two or three other people knew Bossk had a partner. They never really knew about Liz because of her age, she was so young, people stared and pointed. Whispering something about her. One the youngest bounty hunter was Boba Fett.
And because of all of the pointing, Bossk made her stay in the ship while he got the credits and to learn who or where is their next target. They split the credits evenly, if it wasn't an even amount of credits, then Bossk keeps the the most. Liz's whole look changed, too. She wore light brown pants and a black shirt with long sleeves, and black boots.
Liz also wore grey armor up and down her arms and her shoulders. A holster to hold her two blasters, her com and in the back of the holster held five bombs. She hid her face as well. Wearing a cloth over her mouth and nose. From time to time she would use black paint on the rest of her face, but on rare occasions. She only uses the cloth while they are on the hunt.
When Liz didn't need her bow and arrow on a mission she would use her bombs, blasters, or her hidden knives. The knives were hidden in a pocket right above both of her boots. Liz and Bossk learned to have respect for each other, they would sometimes get in to fights, but they always solved out the problems. Liz's anger issues also grew, having a shorter temper then and now. Yet, even though she had anger issues she was patient. But even though she was patient, she grew more aggressive.
A year into becoming partners, Bossk would let her come with him on getting the credits and going to get his task on who is their new target. Many people not knowing Liz was his partner, it was definitely time for bounty hunters and other people around the galaxy to know, there is a new bounty hunter. There had been for a whole year.
"Well, see you in a couple of minutes Bossk," Liz was heading to the cockpit. They came back from hunting down a guy who owns money he never payed back. Bossk already had him next to him, in a bag and was knocked out. But he was about to wake up.
"Where do you think you're going?" Bossk picked up the body and swung it over his shoulder, the guy was struggling to get free.
"Umm, I'm heading to the cockpit, like I always do," Liz responded. They were on Tatooine, the one who asked for this guy was the one and only Jabba the Hut.
"No, you are coming with me for now on," Bossk replied. He opened the ramp. Liz felt the hot wind hit her face, she hasn't felt it in a long time.
"But, what about the other bounty hunters that are in there? Won't you be embarrassed for them to know about me being your partner?" Many bounty hunters were in Jabba's palace that day.
"No, I wouldn't be embarrassed. Once they see what you are capable of, they will fear you." Bossk was already on the hot sand. Liz followed him slowly outside the ship, the suns hitting them with extremely hot rays. They headed to the palace.
Liz was worried. A twelve year old was about to enter a place full of deadly people. If she wanted people to really start hiring her for an assassin, she has to prove herself. Especially, to the other bounty hunters. She wants them to know she is also a tough bounty hunter, even though Liz is twelve.
They entered the palace.
The guards questioned why Liz was coming along, but Bossk told them she was with him. Twi'leks and other species were walking around with barley any clothes on, giving out drinks or flirting with the guests. Liz didn't mind, she'd seen this before. Liz's breathing became faster, she saw many other bounty hunters already.
"Bossk, they're staring," Liz whispered. Her voice was shaky. The room went quiet, Liz was tempted to stand still.
"Don't let them see that you're scared, understood?"
"Understood."
They approached Jabba. All eyes were on them now, mostly on Liz. Bossk put down the bag and took the guy out. His hands were already tied behind his back. Bossk forced him on his knees, pointing his blaster at his head. Jabba spoke, but Bossk didn't understand him.
"He says good job," Liz translated.
"You understand him?" Bossk asked in surprised.
"Yes, I studied his language. Since, my mother was a dancer and danced for Jabba the Hut, she made me study his language." Bossk nodded. Liz translated what Bossk said to Jabba. Jabba spoke again, this time pointing at Liz.
"He asked who I am."
Bossk cleared his throat, "This is Liz. She's my partner."
People started laughing. Pointing. Even Jabba the Hut did, too. His droid was now translating for them. Jabba yelled a bit.
"He says for how long," Liz looked at Bossk, but he didn't notice.
"One year." Jabba's droid told him what Bossk said. "In fact, she is the one that caught who you were looking for."
Bossk hit the guy on his knees with his blaster. The room quieted down.
"Hmmm," Jabba responded, in he raspy voice. He spoke again.
"He says that he will give us the credits if we kill the guy. No, if I kill him," Liz was shocked. This was the way to prove herself to him.
"Well then do it," Bossk stepped back, still pointing his blaster at the guy. Liz stepped a bit to her right, just a little bit behind the target.
'Okay, let's get this over with,' Liz took out her blaster. She pointed it to his head. The guy was crying for mercy.
"Begging for mercy doesn't help." Liz shot him the head, twice. He fell to the ground.
