yoongi.

the tint of orange roared viciously in front of him. his body froze at the sight, his heart banging against the stone cage it was wrapped in. the building turned into ashes in the matter of minutes as sirens and people began to crowd around the scene.

fire, it was all that he could see.

"yoongi," his bottom lip quivered as men in husky suits grabbed jimin and pulled him away from the scorching flames. his legs gave out as they sat him down on the ground, his fingers wrapping around the damp grass below him.

the strangers around him left their palms glued to their slightly open mouths, all staying cuddled within their robes. the air was silent, along with everyone else, and the static noise of the burning wood drilled holes into his head.

nothing had happened for an entire month. the stinging sensation jimin was awfully familiar with didn't reoccur since he pushed hoseok over the bridge; that's until tonight happened.

his attention never diverted from the burnt house. the screams that fell from yoongi's lips still echoed in his head, even as the firemen put out the fire and were leaving the scene. jimin found himself sitting on his knees, wet grass still gripped in fist, until dawn.

the other boys didn't arrive till the sun began to rise. jungkook seemed to be more of a mess than jimin himself. he stayed in the car, swollen eyes and glued lips, and didn't dare look at the ashes. seokjin was quiet too, but decided to sit by jimin and slug his arm around his shoulders.

taehyung was devastated. he shouted and shouted, blaming everything on the boy who was there when yoongi was lit up in burns. "pretty weird that everyone keeps dying while jimin is around, don't you think?" taehyung's voice scratched against his tired throat as his hands threw themselves in the air. no one answered back to his comments; everyone just stayed quiet.

and the static of the fire never seemed to disappear, even long after it was put out.
