Simeon was in panic, the monster that had given birth to him and his siblings had yet again harmed one of them. He listened to his sister's rushed words on the other line; he could tell that she was truly afraid.

"Where is she?" he growled, the emotions he knew all too well rushed through his body. Anger, sadness and guilt.

Once again he had failed to protect his siblings like he had promised.

"She's taking a nap" Vivienne replied "I don't know how much more of this we can take Sim. If this keeps up, there's no telling that Levi would live to see his birthday or that I'd make it to college...why is she like this?" the choked sobs of his sister broke his heart into a million pieces, he stopped asking why Marian Sterling was a monster a long time ago. There was nothing behind it, she just was and when he realized that he stopped thinking of her as a mother.

"I stopped asking myself that a long time ago Viv, trust me when I say that I'll make this right soon alright? So please be on guard around that monster, I will be home very soon."

Simeon didn't need to tell her to be on alert; there wasn't a moment in Vivienne's life that she got to relax, not one of them let their defenses down around the monster that lived under the same roof as them. If they did, they'd bet on being crucified.

"Ok, are you still in class?"

"No, it finished just before you called."

"Simeon!"

Turning around Simeon searched for the person who called out to him, when he met the familiar face of his of his good friend Reese. He waved as they met each other halfway "Viv, I have to go but I'll be home in an hour tops ok?"

"Sure, see you soon." After she hung up Simeon shook Reese's hand.

"I'm not going to ask how you're doing because you look like shit" Reese pointed out. He knew his friend led a tough life but he kept up his appearances, one would think rich kids had it easy. "What's going on man?"

"It's a family issue" Simeon sighed heavily, a sudden thought came to him making him turn to Reese "you're obviously aren't here for a social call so what are you doing here?"

"I came to give you a heads up" Reese cut to the chase immediately "my team and I are investigating your family."

"Why?"

"Your father, Nicholas, disappeared two years ago without so much as a note, a man of his social standing can't just disappear" Reese stated.

"Mother said he ran off with his lover. He packed his bags and left his kids behind without looking back" that was the story Marian had told him, he had refused to believe her and raced upstairs to his parents' bedroom to find clothes scattered and draws opened on the ground. Even the safe in his father's study was empty but even then he did not wish to believe that his father had just up and left them with the monster he married.

"And you believe that he just left his wife and kids behind by choice?"

"Of course not! My father was a respected person, he loved his family, I don't believe he'd run of with another woman to just satisfy his own desires that is completely out of his character" Simeon gritted out.

"Good because we don't think so either" Reese told him, being a part of the FBI worked well in his favor. He had been investigating the Sterlings since half a year ago when someone other than Nicholas Sterling was using his credit cards.

"What exactly do you think happened to my father?"

"There's a good chance that he was kidnapped, if not...we think he's already dead."

Simeon could not believe his ears. Kidnapped? Dead?

Did mother have something to do with this?

"Simeon, I need you to tell me if there's any person that had bad blood with your father."

There was only one. And he slept right next to the monster.

"Monster? Are you referring to your mother?" Reese was confused he was still young and had little experience in the field but his PhD in psychology took him a long way. He watched as blood drained from his friend's face, immediately he knew, there was something about Marian Sterling that scared Simeon, but what was it?

"Reese you have to help us" Simeon knew why, he just had to, he just had to tell someone, someone that could help.

"What's going on? Do you think your mother did something to your dad?"

"I wouldn't put it pass her Reese, she's a monster. Anything that stands in her way she eliminates, I've tried so many times to get my siblings out of that house and so many times I have failed, I'm afraid they might not make it out someday."

Reese saw the turmoil in Simeon eyes, just what the hell goes on inside that house? He wondered and pondered over it, he had come across lots of cases where children grew up with stalkers and killers in their own homes, but he never once thought he'd see it in his own friend.

Anything that stands in her way she eliminates... I'm afraid they might not make it out someday.

Those words got under his skin, the turmoil behind Simeon's eye was enough for him to do everything in his power to help his friend and find out the truth about Nicholas Sterling's disappearance.
