"Hey, Sam! Come check this out!" Phillip had just shouted across the library, man will Ms. Bruck be pissed! Ms. Bruck is the manager of the library, she was one of my few friends. I saw her almost every day. She was a nice lady, once you get around the "cactus ring".

Phillip was hoisting the book Bird-Box  into the air. Apparently, he explained to me, he had been looking for it everywhere but it was always already checked out, or they were out of stock on it. But now he found it here at our library. Unsurprisingly, he had already had it on hold here before, so all he had to do was have Ms. Bruck scan the book and he would be good to go.

I had never read Bird-Box before, although I really wanted to. I kind of felt like looking to see if they have a copy of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, although I decided I would be fine with the books I already have so far. I can get new books after I've finished all the ones I want to read that I already have.

We checked out Bird-Box and left the library. Phillip was already reading as he walked. I thought I was going to have to tell him where to turn or watch pout for people, but it was like he was looking straight ahead. He swerved out of the way of people and even held the door to the library open for a family that was strolling in. All while reading his book.

We got on the bikes. Thankfully, Phillip put the book down for this. We had realized after we left the library that it was almost time for the movie. We pedaled as hard as we could. We got to Phillip's house, and dropped of Bird-Box. Phillip did a quick introduction of me to his parents and we left in the family's mini van going as fast as the speed limit would allow to get to Star Wars on time.
