chapter 8
"Is it supposed to hurt again?" Your eyes were wide open now, almost scared. "That is just, the first time, no?"
Kubo's expression softened as he heard the fear in your voice. It was clear that you were worried about the pain you had experienced during your first time. He took a deep breath, trying to reassure you.
"Doll, it's normal for it to hurt a bit the first time," he said, his voice gentle. "But I promise you, it will get better. Your body will get used to it, and the pain will fade. Just trust me, okay?"
"I trust you." You placed your head on his shoulder, your fingers tracing the marks you gave him.
He couldn't help but smile at your gesture, his hand gently stroking your hair as you rested your head on his shoulder. He could feel the marks you had left on his skin, and he didn't mind them at all. In fact, he liked the reminder of the moment you had shared together.
"I'm glad you trust me, doll," he murmured, his voice tender. "And I don't mind the marks you gave me. They remind me of you."
"I think I'm madly and deeply in love with you."
Kubo's heart skipped a beat at your words, the depth of your feelings for him taking him by surprise. He had suspected that you had strong feelings for him, but hearing you say it out loud was something else entirely.
"Doll... I feel the same way," he murmured, his voice filled with emotion. "I'm madly and deeply in love with you too."
"It took us a while to confess, no?" You smile brightly.
He chuckled softly, a warm smile spreading across his face.
"Yeah, it took us a while," he agreed, his voice filled with affection. "But I think it was worth the wait, doll. We have something special, something I want to cherish for as long as I can."
"But I still have my debt," you sighed.
Kubo's expression darkened as you mentioned your debt, the reminder of it hanging over your head like a shadow. He knew that it was a touchy subject, and he didn't want to ruin the moment, but he also couldn't ignore the fact that you owed him a significant amount of money.
"Doll... about your debt," he said, his voice taking on a more serious tone. "We need to discuss it eventually."
"Shall we?" You raised your head and looked into his eyes.
"Yes, we should discuss it," he said, his voice firm. "But first, let me ask you something."
"Ask me. I'll answer everything."
Kubo took a deep breath, contemplating his words before speaking.
"Doll, I need to know... why did you borrow such a large sum of money from me?" he asked, his gaze fixed on yours. "Why did you need it so desperately?"
"You don't know? My mother has lung cancer, and for 4 years now, she is in an intensive care clinic, and I have to pay for her treatment."
Kubo felt a pang of sympathy in his heart as you shared your story. He had no idea about the situation with your mother, and the fact that you were taking care of her medical expenses only made him admire you even more.
"Doll, I had no idea," he murmured, his voice softening. "I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I didn't know you were going through something like this."
"It's not your fault." You caressed his fingers.
He took your hand in his, his grip tightening as he sought comfort in your touch.
"Doll, I wish you had told me earlier," he said, his voice rough with emotion. "I would have done anything to help you, you know that, right?"
"I know. But I was proud. I thought I could handle everything myself.
Not to depend on a man, never again.
I was scared it will happen, the same as with my father."
Kubo frowned as he heard the pain in your voice, the memory of your father's abandonment clearly still a sore spot for you. He could sense the fear and pride that you had, your desire to stand on your own two feet, but also the burden it put on you.
He took a deep breath, his thumb tracing circles on the back of your hand.
"Doll, you don't have to carry everything on your own," he said, his voice gentle. "You're not alone anymore. I'm here."
You finally broke down and started crying, weeping from deep inside your heart, letting go of all your frustrations and concerns.
Kubo's heart broke at the sight of you crying, his arms instinctively pulling you close to him.
He held you tightly, his fingers running through your hair as he whispered soothing words into your ear.
"It's okay, doll," he murmured, his voice filled with tenderness. "Let it all out, I'm here for you. You don't have to keep it all inside anymore."
You felt refreshed after crying so hard. "I'm sorry.. I think we need to burn these clothes.."
He chuckled softly, the tension easing from his body as he held you tight.
"Yeah, I think you're right," he said, looking down at your stained clothes and his own ruined suit. "We can't walk around like this."
"How will we enter the hotel, Kubo? We can't go out of the car like this." You sighed.
He realized the predicament you were in. "Don't worry doll, I have a plan," he said, his voice filled with mischief.
"First thing we need to do is get changed, which is easy enough. I can have my men bring us clothes to the car. But then we'll have to figure out how to sneak into the hotel without being seen."
"We don't need to sneak in if we can change, no?"
Kubo laughed softly, shaking his head at your suggestion.
"Doll, it's not just about getting changed, it's about avoiding being seen. If we walk into the hotel like this, people will notice. We need to be discreet."
"Notice what?" You didn't understand what he was implying.
He chuckled again, his gaze soft on your confused face.
"Doll, our clothes are stained with each other's body fluids," he said bluntly. "If we walk in there like this, people will notice and make assumptions."
"Hmm.. do you care?"
His expression softened as he looked at you, his eyes roaming over your body.
"No doll, I don't care," he said, his voice warm. "But it will draw unnecessary attention to us. We're trying to keep a low profile, remember?"
"Indeed. For your business to succeed. Let's carefully sneak in, then."
Kubo nodded, a sly smile playing at the corners of his lips.
"That's right doll," he said, his voice almost a growl. "We need to be subtle, to keep our presence undetected. So we'll sneak into the hotel, get changed, and then meet in my room."
He took your hand, a smirk playing across his lips as he led you out of the car. You navigated through the back entrance of the hotel, avoiding the main lobby where the lobby staff would notice. The two of you managed to find an elevator that took you up to the second floor, and Kubo led you to a side door that concealed a staircase. You ascended the staircase until you reached the penthouse floor that contained the presidential suite.
Kubo froze, his grip on your hand tightening as he heard someone call his name.
His expression hardened, and he turned to see a French man approaching them.
His eyes flicked to the French man, recognition flashing across his face. He let out a sigh, his shoulders relaxing slightly.
"Damn, I didn't expect to run into you here," he grumbled, his hand still holding onto yours.
The French man's eyes widened as he took in your disheveled state, his gaze flicking between you and him.
"Kubo, mon ami.. what happened to you both?" he asked, his eyebrows raised in curiosity.
"Erik, it's not what it looks like," Kubo said, his tone laced with annoyance. "We had a bit of an accident, that's all."
Erik smirked, his gaze flickering between the two of you.
"An accident, eh?" he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Looks more like a passionate encounter to me."
You blushed so hard and you desire to hide yourself from Erik's gaze, backing down until you hit the door with a loud thud.
Kubo chuckled low as he watched you try to hide, the sound of the thud against the door resonating in the empty hallway. Erik couldn't help but laugh as well, the situation growing more and more comical.
"Could you stop laughing and open the fucking door? I mean... Pardon me sir, you bowed to Erik glancing at Kubo. Let me get inside?"
Kubo couldn't help but laugh even more at your change of attitude, finding it amusing how quickly you shifted gears.
Erik chuckled as well, his expression still amused, as he watched the interaction unfolding between you and Kubo.
"Of course, Mon chéri," he said, a smirk on his lips. "I'll let you both get inside."
With a gracious nod, Erik stepped aside, making space for you and Kubo to pass through.
As you stepped inside the penthouse, Kubo couldn't help but chuckle softly, his eyes fixed on you.
"You're quite the actress, doll," he murmured, his voice teasing. "Switching from embarrassed to polite in a matter of seconds."
"I had to improvise.." you groaned.
"You certainly did," Kubo agreed, his gaze still locked on you. "But I have to say, it was pretty adorable watching you try to hide from Erik's gaze."
"He is creepy. I don't like him. I don't. Not even a tiny bit."
He laughed at your statement, amused by your dislike for Erik.
"Oh doll, you're quite blunt," he said, his tone light. "And your aversion towards him is quite obvious."
"What's so amusing?" You frowned.
Kubo chuckled, his eyes twinkling with playful mischief.
"Nothing, doll," he reassured you. "It's just amusing seeing you so vocal about your dislike for someone. It's quite endearing."
"What does Mon Cherie mean?" You stripped yourself naked and came to Kubo's side, removing all his clothes as well.
His breath hitched as you stripped him out of his stained suit, his gaze fixed on you.
"Mon cherie?" he repeated, his voice a low purr. "It means 'my darling' or 'my sweetheart' in French."
"Ewwww." You almost icked for real.
Kubo couldn't help but laugh at your reaction, your expression of revulsion sending a ripple of amusement through him.
"Ewww?" he repeated, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "Is that any way to react to such a sweet term of endearment?"
"Never call me that. Never, ever."
He chuckled at your vehement protest, your expression adamant and determined.
"Never?" he asked, his smirk growing wider. "You seem pretty adamant about that."
"I am. I'll strangle you, I swear."
And you rushed into the bathroom to take a most needed shower.
Kubo couldn't help but laugh heartily at your threat, your determination both amusing and endearing to him.
"Oh doll, I'd like to see you try," he said, his voice tinged with amusement. "But I think I'll save my life and not let you strangle me. At least not yet."
"You bet I'll do it later," you were yelling from inside the bathtub.
He let out another low chuckle, his mind swirling with curiosity about your true intentions.
"Oh doll, I have a feeling you've got something up your sleeve," he said, his tone playful. "You're full of surprises, aren't you?"
"Maybe I am?"
"Maybe?" he echoed, his tone filled with intrigue. "Now I'm even more curious to see what you're planning."
Your true character was not meek or innocent. Actually you were an alpha female, with dominant and cold behaviour.
Kubo's eyes widened as you showed your true character, the meek and innocent facade dropping away, revealing your dominant and cold demeanor. He was taken aback by the sudden change, surprised by your concealed strength.
He couldn't help but find this side of you intriguing, his interest piqued.
He felt a mix of surprise and intrigue as he witnessed your transformation from the meek and innocent doll to an alpha female with a dominant and cold demeanor.
Your sudden change in character caught him off guard, but he couldn't help but find your hidden strength and assertiveness captivating.
