I moved my head, looking up at Chibs, although I was almost the same height as him with my shoes on. "You mean the explosion?" I asked, and I saw Jax and Chibs nod at the same time. "There is something else," Clay added. "Oh?" I said, turning to look at Clay. Clay stepped forward. "Keith is dead too," he said. I felt my mouth open, staying open for a few seconds. "Keith?" I asked, and Clay nodded. "Yeah, Liam and Keith were both working for Jimmy," he told me, and I quickly closed my mouth, finally realizing that it was still open, feeling the silence around me. Everything suddenly clicked. The strange behavior. Liam disappearing. Paddy's death. The questions. The feeling I'd had from the moment I'd met him. "I knew something was up," I whispered. "Aye, ye told me yer concern," Chibs replied, and I nodded. "Your instincts were right," he added, and I nodded. "I knew you'd believe me, but the others." I quietly said. I turned to the road for a second, just looked at the road we came from and the sun slowly going down. For days, she'd felt like I was chasing a shadow. Now I knew what the shadow had been. Liam. Keith. Jimmy. And Paddy had been caught in the middle of it. I wrapped my arm tighter around Chibs's Waist, digging my nails into the leather of his jacket, thinking about Paddy. I was right about Liam, but somehow it didn't make me feel better. Chibs pulled me with him into the clubhouse, where we sat down just after the news of Keith and Liam's deaths, as Jax walked into the room. His expression was different. Focused. Urgent. Clay immediately looked up. "What've ye got?" he asked. I turned to look at Jax, who looked around the room. "I think I know where Abel is," he said. I felt Chibs and Clay get up from their seats at the same time. "Where?" Clay asked. "At a Nursery outside of Belfast," Jax replied. He looked at Clay, and neither man said a word for a whole five minutes. "Let's get your Son." He said loudly enough, and I felt the immediate shift in the room, with all of the men from Redwood wanting to get Abel back where he belongs. I saw Jax giving his stepfather a light nod before turning to Chibs, who moved his shoulders back. "Im with ye, Jackie Boy," he said, and Jax gave a nod. Chibs turned to me, taking both my hands in his. "Stay here," he quietly said when I opened my mouth, wanting to say something, when I saw Chibs just slightly shaking his head. "Bring the little one home." I quietly said. Chibs released my hand, raising his hand softly, placing it on my cheek, stepping closer, and kissing me on my forehead. He followed Jax out the door with Juice, Bobby, Opie, and Happy behind him. "We'll be back." Juice called before he left. Gemma stepped forward and squeezed Riley's shoulder. "We will." Gemma said before she followed outside and didn't return inside, meaning she was with Clay and the others. The waiting was worse. I tried to keep myself busy while avoiding the Men walking around, quietly talking, or sitting around the table. I tried to make coffee nobody asked for just to keep my hands busy and constantly checked my phone for a message from Jax or Chibs. "You're wearing a hole in the floor." Fiona said from where she was sitting on the couch. I looked down at my feet and onto the shoes I was wearing, plus the floor underneath. "I am not." I replied, looking up. "You are." Fiona answered, and I glared at her, although I couldn't be mad at her. I let out a sigh. "Fine." I grumbled, reluctantly sitting down on the other side of the couch, but only five minutes later I was back on my feet, fiddling with my hands when I heard a laugh from my side. "Riley." Fiona said, and I felt a tug on my sleeve. "What?" I asked, turning back. "Sit." Fiona patted the space next to her on the couch. "I am sitting." I grumbled, sitting on the armrest. "You were," she replied, nodding to the funky sitting arrangement I had going on the armrest. I rolled my eyes and fell backwards onto the couch with my legs dangling over the armrest while my back was on the couch with my head next to Fiona's head. Hours seemed to pass. Then finally— Engines. Everyone looked toward the doors. I got up immediately, although I needed a few tries to roll myself off the couch. The clubhouse doors opened. Clay walked in. Then Chibs. Then the others. Chibs immediately walked over and embraced me. Seeing my slightly messed-up hair, he gently tried to flatten it but gave up after I shook his hand away. "Leave it." I grumbled. I looked around the room at the familiar faces when I realized there was somebody missing. "Where is Jax?" I asked Clay. "We got separated." Clay said after a break, which made me look at each of the men. "What do you mean you got separated?" I asked. "We got attacked and had to run, and he stayed behind." Ope said. I turned to look at him. "We have to find him." I said, looking from Chibs to Clay and over to Gemma. "We wanted to, but he drove off, and we don't know where to." Chibs told me. Before I could say anything else, there was an engine sound echoing from outside, and we all looked at the wall where the door was. Without noticing it, I realized I held my breath until the door opened and Jax walked inside the room. He was alone; it didn't look like he had luck finding Abel. "Jax." Gemma said. When I looked into his face, I couldn't read the expression on it.
