I grabbed his wrist and carefully started peeling the tape off his hand, gently checking his fingers and the bones in his knuckles. "You might want to put some ice on that," I said, pointing to his hands. "Sure, Doc," he said with a cheeky smile, and I gave him a nudge on the shoulder. "Don't say that," I grumbled. Bobby and Opie appeared at the clubhouse door just as I finished taking the tape down. Jax walked off after thanking me, wanting to shower when I felt my body was tired, although I had taken a nap earlier. Clay chuckled behind me, and I turned around from where I was standing, dropping the last bit of Tape onto the floor. I looked at him. "Do you want me to check you over too?" I asked, more like a joke. Clay immediately shook his head. "No," he grumbled. "Didn't think so," I grumbled, turning around as I said it. Trinity giggled again. For a moment, with the fight over and the clubhouse noise drifting through the open doors, everything felt almost normal. Almost. Then Riley glanced toward the doorway. She couldn't see Chibs anymore. But she could still feel the warmth of that quick kiss on her forehead. And somehow, that was enough. The next morning, I woke up with a headache since somebody decided to be so loud the rest of the night after the party, but I couldn't say who was being so loud; I really just wanted to have my coffee in peace. Chibs was already out of the room when I got up. In the bathroom at the end of the hallway, I got a quick shower, headed back to the room, and got dressed when I heard a faint knock at the door. "Who is it?" I asked. "It's Opie." I heard Opie's rough voice. "Hang on," I called back, pulled my shirt down, and grabbed the hoodie from the chair next to my bed, putting it on before opening the door. "Morning Bear," I said sweetly. "Morning, Stubby. Thought you needed this," he replied, holding a mug of coffee out for me. "Ah, thanks." Just then there was laughter from down the hall. "Which one of the boys was screwing around last night?" I asked, and Opie shrugged. "Not sure; I think it was Juice," Opie replied. "Well, guess who's getting the pregnant wrath," I grumbled as we entered the bar room where the others were already sitting around the table. "JUAN CARLOS ORTIZ," I grumbled, and immediately it got really quiet. When I looked around, I saw a little face with a bunch of hair sticking out in the middle, and I heard fast footsteps heading towards the door, opening it and closing it. "GET BACK HERE." I yelled, and laughter rumbled through the room. "Alright, Mama, easy now." Bobby said, walking closer to me, patting my shoulder.  I turned my head slightly, feeling the anger settle. "Alright, alright, you done?" Clay asked after I was about to get angry again. "Yes." I grumbled, and Clay nodded, and Gemma walked close to me, placing an arm around me. We sat down on the couch with our coffees and quietly talked while the others ran off. Chibs quickly kissed my hair before following the others out to wherever they had to go, while I stayed back with Gemma, who kept me company with two of the other boys from the Irish Chapter as protection. I was scrolling on my phone when I remembered something, and I looked around for Chibs, but he was already gone, and I let out a deep sigh. "What's wrong, baby?" Gemma asked. I turned my phone to show her my calendar with the Note I had put there on this day. "Today's our first wedding anniversary."  I told her, and she looked up at me. Just then the door opened, and two of the guys walked in with Clay, Jax, and Keith behind them; I got up from the couch when Chibs walked in with Paddy next to him, and from the face he gave me, he knew something had happened. "What happened?" he asked, reaching his arms out for me, wrapping his arms around my waist, pulling me close to him. I looked at the people around me and pulled myself free from him, taking his hand and pulling me away from the crowd towards our room, where I stopped. "You know what today is?" I asked, and he looked at me, confused. "No, what?" he asked, and I let out a breath. "Lass..." Chibs leaned closer to me. "One year." I said, pausing. "Our first wedding Aniversary." I told him. Chibs stood. "Oh Christ," he finally said. I raised an eyebrow. "Yeah." I said, letting out another breath. "I forgot," he said honestly. "You forgot?" I asked. "No," he stuttered, stopping. "I didn't forget," he added. Chibs looked back. "I was distracted," he finally told me, and I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck. "I'm sorry," he quietly said close to my ear as he wrapped his arm around me. I let out a sigh. "I know." I quietly replied. "I should've remembered," he added. "You should have." I replied. he leaned back, lowering his hands down my arms to my hand, softly holding them. "But I do remember marrying ye," he said with a smile that made me smile. "Good." I replied with a smile. "And I remember the first time ye told me ye loved me." Chibs said with a smile that made me blush slightly. "Chibs." I almost whispered, but all I could feel was his hands squeezing mine. "I remember every important part," he softly said. I quickly looked down at our hands together. "Even if you're terrible at dates?" I asked as I looked up into his eyes. "Apparently," he replied with a chuckle. A small laugh escaped me, but only because he really sucked at planning dates. "Hey, uhm, guys?" a voice came from behind Chibs.
