Wolf 13
- DO KYUNGSOO -
Kim Jongin gently pushed me to the floor, his whole body pressed against mine. I felt his hand travel from my waist to my arm. He grabbed it and pinned it over my head, making me gasp against his lips. He kissed me harder and I tried kissing him back no matter how breathless I am now. His kisses are hungry and pressing.
It's like he wanted me. Like he wanted me all this time.
Suddenly, his mouth left mine and when I opened my eyes again, I'm staring right into the face of a giant wolf. Jongin looks down at me, his red eyes piercing but soft. He lowered his face to my neck and I felt him lick me there so slowly. I shivered just as his tongue went down to my left shoulder.
I tensed. I could feel his sharp nails against my arm but I can tell he's trying not to hurt me. His body emits a certain warmth and I suddenly felt my eyes getting droopy again.
"Don't move." he whispered and his voice seems shaky.
I gulped. "What are you trying to..." But then I yelped when I felt his teeth sink into my shoulder. "AH!" I gasped in pain as Jongin bit harder, making me squirm and suddenly, he's pinning my whole body with his three other legs.
What is he doing?!
Just when I felt like screaming , Kim Jongin pulled back, blood dripping from his canines. He licked them slowly as he gazed down at me with those warm eyes. Then he leaned down again and started lapping on my wound. But what's different is that, I can't feel any more pain. A wolf just bit me real hard and I can't feel anything but his tongue lapping on my wound.
When he's finished already with whatever he's doing, the wolf stepped back and walked towards his clothes that are lying on the floor. He retrieved them with his teeth and his every step makes the cottage shake. Kim Jongin stepped out of the cottage before I could even ask where he's going.
My hand traveled to my shoulder. When I pulled my shirt down to look, there's no wound at all. Not even a scar.
Wait.
A werewolf just... bit me.
Then I gasped. "Jongin!" I called, my voice urgent. "Kim Jongin where are you?!"
I stood up though my whole body hurts and I know it's just the adrenaline that's making me walk towards the door now. Just when I reached for the knob, Jongin stepped in, human this time, but he's wearing his pants and damp shirt.
He caught me just when I stumbled backwards.
"You bit me." I accused, glaring at him. "What do you think you've just did?!"
Jongin watched me with a frown. "I'm protecting you." he muttered. "I can't see you like that again Kyungsoo."
"But you just turned me into a wolf!" I shrieked.
With that, Jongin grinned, shaking his head. "Myth." he mumbled as he guided me towards the corner of the cottage. It's only drizzling now and I know I could already go home sooner. When I gave him a confused look, he sighed.
"Do Kyungsoo," he started, watching me. "You can't turn into a werewolf just because of a bite. That's a myth. You become a werewolf because your parents are one. You don't just... turn into one. We're not vampires."
I blinked at him. "Oh." was all I could say.
He let me sit against the corner where it's warmer and he settled beside me, blocking the cold air from the outside. When I hugged my knees to my chest, Jongin wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling me close to him. I rested my head on his shoulder, sighing.
"When you woke up, I expected screaming and you throwing things at me," Jongin murmured against my hair. "You're so full of surprises."
That made me grin. "Were you disappointed?" I asked as I closed my eyes, breathing in his scent. He smells of forest and lemon grass and rain. He smells so good I feel like I'm standing at the center of a garden.
Do all werewolf smell like this?
"A little." Jongin grinned, answering my question.
I shifted, snuggling closer to him. "So what's with the bite?" I asked, tilting my head so I could look up at him. He's looking down at me and his eyes are between a shade of brown and gold. When he stand under the sunlight, I'm pretty sure they'll shine.
Jongin smirked. "I told you, I'm protecting you," he whispered.
That made me frown. "That doesn't make any sense." I whispered back. His damp shirt is now real dry and that's pretty amazing. Werewolves are one for body heat.
"You'll see," Jongin muttered mischievously, still with that smirk.
I covered his mouth with my hand. "Don't smirk," I muttered, grinning. "It's annoying." I lied.
Jongin laughed but he didn't make any move to removed my hand. "Annoying, eh?" he said, his voice muffled and low. Then he started kissing my palm and I can do nothing but pull back.
"Yikes." I laughed, playfully wiping my hand on his shirt. "You werewolves are disgustingly beautiful creatures," I rolled my eyes at him, shaking my head in amusement.
"Disgusting," Jongin grinned. "But beautiful?"
"Do you prefer only the 'disgusting' part?" I laughed.
Jongin frowned as if thinking. "I think," he smirked again. "I think I prefer you."
It's noon. We can tell because the sun doesn't cast diagonal shadows of the trees anymore. Kim Jongin and I walked along a narrow path back to my house. I'm pretty sure Mother is now worried to death. I don't know how to explain the bruises and the scars.
Kim Jongin squeezed my hand and I tensed.
"What is it?" I asked, panic rising to my throat. Is someone following us?
Jongin smiled. "Nothing." he murmured. "I just don't like the idea of you leaving." then he looked down and I can't help but give a sad smile.
"We have classes together, don't we?" I said, trying to cheer him up. "I'll see you tomorrow."
Jongin just smiled and nodded. We walked in silence after that. It's not really an awkward kind of silence because I don't feel uncomfortable around him anymore. In fact, I like him this close to me no matter what the books say-- That werewolves are dangerous, that they kill humans for food.
Just when I recognized the path that would soon lead to our front porch, Jongin stopped, his whole body tensing. I know it's not good because his goldish eyes turned blood red and he started sniffing the air. I grabbed his arm, suddenly afraid.
"You've got visitors," Jongin whispered, his angry eyes turning to mine.
I frowned at him. "What visitors?" I breathed. "Jongin, what are you talking about?" I looked around the forest and right through the path before us. We're still more than a hundred meters from home. How could he know?
"Your Mother has visitors," Jongin hissed and he's really angry. "I can smell their scents." he spat as he looked back at the path again. He closed his eyes, sniffing the air slowly. And just when I'm about to tug on his arm and beg him to tell me what's happening, two figures emerged from the forest around us.
And I recognized them instantly.
"We smelled them, too." Chanyeol hissed, his eyes turning to me for a split second before they went back to Jongin. "They've been there since this morning."
"Did she call them?" Jongin asked. She? Is he referring to my Mother?
Baekhyun shrugged, he reached for his hair, flattening the stubborn blonde strands. "There's only three of them, Jongin." he whispered. "I don't think they mean any harm. They're outnumbered."
Jongin sneered and it sounded like a growl. "I don't care," he hissed. "The others might arrive sooner."
Chanyeol and Baekhyun shared a confused look. "Then what do we do?" Chanyeol asked, eyeing Jongin with his jet black eyes. "Do we kill them?" he said the words so casually it made me shiver. Like killing is a norm they do every day of their lives. I felt my body shaking from fear and that's when Jongin glanced at me, his eyes turning a bit softer. Then they slowly returned to gold.
He thought for a while, his eyes gazing into mine.
"No," he finally said and he surprisingly doesn't sound angry anymore. "As Baekhyun had said, they're outnumbered. Let's see what they're up to."
Chanyeol nodded. "I sent Kris and Sehun to roam around Kyungsoo's house." He said, crossing his arms over his chest. "I told them to make sure no Warrior would see them."
Warrior. Another foreign word.
"Does Father know?" Jongin asked as he looked at Baekhyun for answer.
"I believe, yes." he said. "But he didn't give any instruction. Decisions seem to... belong to you now, Jongin." Baekhyun gave Jongin a long, knowing look before he traveled his eyes to me. Baekhyun stared at me so intently and I stepped back in shock.
"I'm sorry about what happened, Kyungsoo." Baekhyun finally said as he bowed. "I swear to not feel like that again." he added as he gave me a smile. I thought he's mad at me for being with Jongin but Baekhyun seems... cool about it. His eyes are gentler now, friendlier than the first time I met him.
I tried shrugging but I'm still quite shaken. "I-it's fine," I murmured.
Chanyeol cleared his throat and we all looked at him. "Baekhyun," he called, staring at his mate. "I think we better go. Jongin still has to send Kyungsoo home."
Baekhyun nodded and he gave me another apologetic smile before he stepped closer to Chanyeol. When I thought they're going to run away like they did a while ago, Chanyeol and Baekhyun stooped low enough and within the blink of an eye, I'm now staring at two giant werewolves. A black. And a white.
Their now ripped clothes are lying on the ground and the pitch black wolf, Chanyeol, I suppose, started kicking them back to the forest where they could be hidden. Baekhyun licked on his paw and his fur seemed to shine through the sunlight.
They're gorgeous.
With another look at us, Chanyeol and Baekhyun raced through the forest and soon, they're completely out of our sights.
"Let's go." Jongin whispered, tugging on my hand.
"What's happening, Jongin?" I asked, my own voice shaking. "Is my Mother alright? What visitors are you talking about? Who are the Warriors?"
Jongin looked at me for a long moment, his eyes gazing at my face. "Kyungsoo, I'm not in the position to tell you anything about them," he whispered. "But I believe your Mother would be glad to answer your questions."
That made me even more confused. "My Mother," I repeated, shaking my head. "Is she fine?"
"Of course," Jongin nodded and when he smiled, it's a surprisingly sad one. He's now looking at me with so much more than love. His eyes look sorrowful. He's looking at me like I'm leaving... like i'm leaving him.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Why are you looking at me like that?" my voice is barely a whisper and I'm afraid of him answering my question.
But instead of muttering a word, Jongin pulled me for a hug. A tight and long one and I could clearly feel his heartbeat against my chest. It's too fast and strong. I slowly put my arms around him, feeling more confused than ever.
"Jongin..." I muttered against his shoulder.
"I love you..." he whispered and I was more than shocked to realize that his voice is shaking. "I love you, Do Kyungsoo, and nothing's going to change that. Absolutely nothing."
I tried pushing him back so I could see his face but he won't budge. "Jongin... I don't know what you're saying..."
I felt his arms tighten around my waist. "Soon enough you will," he whispered. "But I beg you, Kyungsoo... don't hate me. Please don't run away from me..."
