the darkness had consumed her
only once or twice before
it hurt her, beat and sunk her
left her broken on the floor

after months she found the courage
to make her way back to the light
she vowed to soon forget the image
of that world of endless night

and she was doing very well
until the day the darkness called her
she quickly tried to break its spell
and break it did, for she was stronger

now all she's set on doing
is keeping darkness well away
so she's constantly remembering
to stay alight, and alight she stayed.
