When I Fall
Will you catch me if I fall,
waiting for me with open arms?
Will you be there when I break,
ready to pick up the pieces?
I often wondered if this is true love.
I often wondered if we belong.
But then I wonder why you touched her,
softly with the faintest brush of your fingertips.
I saw you.
I saw her.
My world turned on its axis,
spinning out of control.
I began falling,
free falling.
Weightless as our love.
Sailing like a paper airplane,
sharp and fragile.
When I land,
crashing down to earth,
I know you won't be there
because you'll be with her.
